“Barry from DC is calling?” Obama Calls Virginia Radio Show
ABC News’ Sunlen Miller reports: During Virginia Governor Tim Kaine’s last radio show today on WTOP radio, he got a surprise call from a “Barry from DC.” “Barry from DC is calling,” Kaine said on live radio. “Go ahead Barry” “Well, uh, governor Kaine this is, uh, actually the president of the United States calling,” Obama said joking that he had some, “questions about traffic in northern Virginia.” Actually, the President was calling into Kaine’s last radio show to wish him a congratulations for a job well done as Virginia’s governor. Kaine is leaving his office as governor in January, but will remain chairman of the DNC. The White House confirms the President made the call, but say a WTOP producer referred to the President as “Barry from DC” to keep the surprise for Kaine on air. The President didn’t actually refer to himself as such. “I just wanted to say how proud we are of your service as governor of the commonwealth of Virginia,” President Obama said,”And just wish you and the family all the best.” The governor thanked him, and referenced the health care vote in the Senate. “The vote the other night was a powerful, powerful moment and we’ve got a lot of good work to do and I’m looking forward to being helpful.” Obama said congratulations once again and then told Kaine to, “get back to the show.” -Sunlen Miller

We are getting frighteningly close to a dictatorship!
Obama tells the congress what HE wants and it delivers in spite of over whelming public disapproval.
This dictatorship is self imposed unless we have the guts to do something about it. Just voting the 60 despicable Obama-serving senators out of office isn’t enough, we have to elect a new congress with enough guts and drive to repeal the disastrous actions of the current inhabitants of the Hill!
If the congress won’t listen on healthcare, it’s not going to listen on “cap and tax” either!

Hey Right Wing,
You extremists are the bad p[art of a good party.
Obama? a dictator?
Didn’t you think that was the case under the last several presidents then? Especially W.?
For eight long, painful, gut-wrenching years I watched the extreme right wing of your otherwise fine party lead this nation down the garden path of allowing unfettered risk-taking in too-big-to-fail capitalist institutions, gutting regulation (Adam Smith’s book is at least half full of caveats), launching ill-advised wars against countries innocent of attacking us, appointing idiots like A. Gonzalez to the highest judicial post in the land, nominating Harriet what’s her name for the US supreme court, killing freedom for “security”, taking half measures, and often just manifesting a rare brand of hubris and sometimes,. yes, outright stupidity.
To me, my friends, and family, It felt like we were living in a fascist country!
And my party’s representatives just sat there and went along with it. Oh, how I was angry!
And now that the ship is righting itself, is very unseemly for you who have had your way with America for eight years to now be calling the undoing of every single mistake a dictatorship.
This is how a democracy should correct itself after going very far astray.

Here’s an idea…..how about Obama gets off the phone, stops playing games and sits in the Oval Office with a goal of actually doing something, ANYTHING, for the American people.
The Obama Buffoon has had plenty of taxpayer-funded parties for he and his cronies, he’s played lots of golf, but he’s done nothing else.
Hey, Obama…..here’s something to start with: Nine months after your grand stimulus boondoggle, 49 of 50 States have LOST jobs. America is now more than 6 Million Jobs SHORT of his projections.
Obama is a disgrace.

According to today’s Rasmussen a staggering 56 percent of Americans now DISAPPROVE of Obama’s performance, a record low for any president at this point in this presidency.
One reason he is despised is that Americans see that Obama wants to put as much of the private economy under government control as possible to create his nanny state utopia where he is the boy king.
Let’s continue to stand strong against Obama in every way and get Congress out of the hands of the insane Pelosi and Reid in 2010.
Obama is a smug, smirking con man. Nothing more.

Given the extreme economic crisis the world has been through (and may be beginning to recover from) these numbers are very good.
In a similar but less severe recession, Reagan fell to %35 approval rating – now that is closer to ‘staggering’.

tierra,
Even if your figures are correct that means 30 to 40 million people don’t want the bill compared to those who do according to your collective polls.
Rasmussen and Quinnipiac polls have more of a void that the ones you site. Regardless, 30, 40 or 50 million of anything is huge and if we don’t realize this and at least acknowledge these folk’s concerns as apposed to insulting with the most foul invectives get ready for a political bloodbath in 2010 for Democrats. If Conservatives take over the House and/or the Senate they will hermitically seal Obama and seal any initiative he wants passed for the balance of his term. Depending upon how the Conservative’s perform in the eyes of an already skeptic public it could be a long while before we regain any semblance of control. I’ve been to this rodeo before, believe you me and if this thing passes, so shall the National voter with Democrats in 2010 as I’m already late to the change to Independent Party of my friends and colleagues that worked with me diligently with some since 2004 in supporting Obama’s run.
Coupling the perceived negative merits of this healthcare bill and the very survival of our party I say no to HR3950. This bill is atrocious in and of itself with Congress unlawfully mandating payment of 8% of gross annual income from every American with no confirmation that big insurance will accept medical pre-conditions. This is a bad bill, moderate Democrats dont support it and not the issue that we need to implode our party over.

The main difference between Obama & Reagan is that Reagan cut taxes which eventually helped the economy improve. Obama is doing the exact opposite and raising taxes on everyone & everything, which is only going to make things 10x worse.

To borrow from Craig Ferguson, remind you of anyone? Obama is mentally ill, kids.
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders fourth edition, DSM IV-TR, a widely used manual for diagnosing mental disorders, defines narcissistic personality disorder:A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:
–has a grandiose sense of self-importance
–is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty or ideal love (megalomania)
–believes they are “special” and can only be understood by, or should associate with, people (or institutions) who are also “special” or of high status
–requires excessive admiration
has a sense of entitlement
–is interpersonally exploitative
–lacks empathy
–is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her
–shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

sounds like you’re describing a clinical study of Bush…. esp.
- is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance,
- has a grandiose sense of self-importance
- shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes
and if you want to play Doctor, here’s my analysis of Bush and republicans in general:
-megalomania
A psychopathological condition characterized by delusional fantasies of wealth, power, or omnipotence.
