Pass this bill with all the improvements and preventive care provisions which it contains. Next year – Medicare for all can pass with 51 votes. That takes care of the pharm and drug prices as well. You can then raise compensation for doctors and hospitals and it would be excellent for the USA!!!

Dean is right on what Obama promised and ran for change,while Mary sold her vote for 100 million to dingy Harry Reid by his promise to put more money into desaster states like Louisanna.

Y Sister…Now is not the time to give up to the whims of the “rich” opposition to health care reform. Although it is true that they have spent countless dollars to lie, misinform, create biased untrue commercials, invent conspiracy theories etc.; the only way the middle class and blue collar people can fight back is through their continued support of the President’s goals. Unfortunately it seems that many of them have fallen prey to “backlash lies and propaganda”. But whatever you do – DON’T give up for progreesive reform.

I am so disgusted with this whole process. I jut don’t understand why we continue to pay for salaries of people who won’t vote according to their constituents needs. As much as I have supported Omaba for president, I was outraged that the prescription bill was not passed.
FYI
IF THE HEALTH CARE BILL DOESN’T INCLUDE A PUBLIC OPTION OR A MEDICAID OPTION FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE 55, I WILL STAY HOME WHEN IT IS TIME TO VOTE AGAIN.

***Obama said, “If you like the insurance that you have, you will be able to keep it.” Yes, but only for now! The reality is private insurance would not be able to compete against government provided health care and would eventually be forced out. How one feels about that is another issue.

Actually from the last CBO report on the public option that passed the house, the government plan would have higher premiums than most comparable private plans, and many supporters were trying to write language so that it public option doesn’t become a dumping ground for all those that can’t get into a private insurance plan.
I think it would be better to say that a true government plan can’t compete on a level playing field with a private plan, so legislation will be inacted to change the playing field so that the goverment plan will at least be as competative as the private plans.

You are just repeating one of the many disinformation, scare, propaganda statements from thhe big insurance lobbies. These people are in it for the money, man. Do you really think that they would just “walk away from their golden goose”? The real problem here is all the people like you who believe that crap! The only and best thing a government option would do is have the “power to negotiate cost of health care lower” – exactly what the “big dollar corporations” do not want to see happen. Until voters wake up and see what is really being done to them by all these lies and misinformation by the lobbies, nothing will change. Were you paying attention last week when 100 (yes 100) lobbies met with the Republican Party to kill health care reform? I was and I swear I will never vote for a Republican again.

It is very good to see someone on the left is seeing the light. Dean is out spoken but correct on this. I am happy to see he had the B—s to stand up to Polosi and Reid. The puppet Obama needs to learn from dean.

I guess they could not find any more money to give Landireu to get her to side with the Dems. So she gets a bunch of money right now for disaster relief in her state that others don’t get just so we can get to the point of doing nothing to curb the cost of health care. Yes there is no more pre-existing condition clause, but the insurance companies can charge three times as much for people that do have these preexisting conditions, so it is essentially still in place. The government it not going to regulate rates, so the insurance companies now get 30 million that the Gov is going to force to get insurance and the insurance companies can charge what ever they want. This is an insurance company bill not a bill for the American people. The White House and the President have sold out to the insurance companies. Business as usal in Washington. This is not the change the majority of the people in this country voted for.
