Flops, Flubs, and Follies of Politics 2009
ABC News’ Rick Klein and Lindsey Ellerson report: This was the year of party crashers, celebrity dancers, and beer summits.
We went hiking on the Appalachian trail. We even saw the president’s Senate seat for sale.
Chief Justice John Roberts forgot his Constitution, Rep. Joe Wilson forgot his decorum, and Vice President Joe Biden never forgot how to be Joe Biden.
The year in politics was a memorable one — and what would it without the flubs and foibles that kept things entertaining?

Oh, is that what you call it when a U.S. leader gest awarded a Nobel Peace Prize and whose actions pull a nation back from the brink of a Depression? Flop, huh? Good to know.

Was I the only one surprised when BO got the Peace Prize? Seems like you should have to do something in the interest of “peace” to get that. You never know about those silly Europeans.
Can’t say we got a very good deal on the “…actions pull a nation back from the brink of a Depression…”. A trillions dollars for about six jobs seems kind of steep to me.

Amy, are you delusional?? Peace prize for what this Indebted-to-the-Unions-community-organizer might do in the future.. Go figure. Obama will probably win the Heisman trophy for watching an entire college football game without getting up and calling Oprah for her opinion. As for pulling us back from the brink of a depression!, can you not do the math?? Spending out of control, Federal reserve still telling this that Fannie and Freddie will be OK (this is a recording), Secretary of Treasury cannot do Turbo Tax. This nation is going from the frying pan to the fire and what comfort you apparently perceive right now is that brief trip in the air between the elevated frying pan and the hot coals below.

Palin’s book and subsequent tour. No one would know she;s still in the political arena if not for Facebook and the Washington Post op-ed page. The book did nothing but make her some money.

Do we need any other proof of the dumbing down of America?

Oh, I almost forgot, President Obama also got a healthcare reform bill through congress that protects people from being denying insurance, makes insurance affordable, and even lowers the federal deficit. Doesn’t sound like a “flop” of a President to me.
