How Do you Say “Delayed Vacation” in Hawaiian? Obama May Delay Holiday Due to Health Care

ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: President Obama says his Hawaiian holiday vacation is dependent on the when the Senate can work out a final vote on health care reform. “I will not leave until my friends in the Senate have completed their work," Obama said during remarks in the Roosevelt Room. "My attitude is that if they’re making these sacrifices to provide health care to all Americans then the least I can do is be around to provide them any encouragement and last minute help where necessary. That’s the deal.” The Senate's last cloture vote is set for Wednesday afternoon. A final vote in the Senate could happen on 7 p.m. ET on Christmas Eve, unless Republicans yield back some debate time. The President was to leave Wednesday for a previously scheduled annual vacation to his home-state of Hawaii, where he was to spend Christmas and the New Year’s holiday. At the daily press briefing, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said that no decision has been made yet on the President’s departure. “They are going to make a decision later this evening about when the president will leave. As soon as we know the outcome to that decision we will let you know.” -Sunlen Miller
