Posing for Photo with Norwegian Royals, President Obama Expresses Chagrin at Media

OSLO, NORWAY — In a wood paneled receiving room in the Slottet Royal Palace of Norway, President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama posed for pictures with His Majesty King Harald V of Norway and Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

"Welcome," said King Harald.

"Thank you so much for having us," said the president, shaking his hand.

"Welcome to Norway," said Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

They began to pose for a photo but first lady Michelle Obama stopped the photo op for a second to brush lint off her husband's jacket.

"This is what…" the president began saying.

"…they are there for," finished the Queen, who said she wishes she were taller standing next to the first lady.

The Norwegian royals seemed surprised at the press scrum.

"Are you used to this?" asked the Queen.

"Unfortunately," said the president.

Cmon he loves this. Remember the pic of him heading towards the helicopter with a GQ magazine in his hand. On the cover of the mag was a picture of himself.
Not saying he is narcissistic… but I don’t think he hates the limelight.

This is why you’re supposed to vote for an adult to be president.
The media attention goes with the job. Get over it, Barry.

If you gave George W. Bush a Nobel Peace Prize, this is exactly what he would say in his speech:
“A nonviolent movement could not have halted Hitler’s armies. Negotiations cannot convince al-Qaida’s leaders to lay down their arms,” Obama said. “To say that force is sometimes necessary is not a call to cynicism, it is a recognition of history.”

From Obama’s acceptence speech:
“But we do not have to think that human nature is perfect for us to still believe that the human condition can be perfected.”
Fom Basics of Socialism:
“the case for the possibility of socialism: if we can somehow perfect our surroundings, we can perfect human beings.”
Karl Marx believed that the development of “human productive forces” opened the possibility — if the economy could be brought under the democratic control of the working-class majority — for “the development of the richness of human nature.”

President Obama Expresses Chagrin at Media.

And in the meantime, the American citizens express chagrin at the man-child who was elected president with the significant help of the very media he supposedly expresses chagrin at.

Everyday the story of this presidency grow more bizarre and comical, yet the MSM continues to carry it’s water. We can only hope they will wake up someday and start doing their watchdog duties for the American people.

“We can’t borrow and spend and bail our way back to a growing economy,” Pence said.

In answer to your question, Pence was speaking out against “big government” and Bush which is pretty much what he’s still doing now with Obama.
1) Pence opposed Bush on TARP last September.
2) Newsweek, 11/7/05 (around the middle of Bush’s tenure in office):
“How, then, to explain Mike Pence of Indiana? As a freshman in 2001, he fought President Bush’s No Child Left Behind Act, which he considered a Big Government boondoggle… In his second term, he tried to scuttle Bush’s $720 billion Medicare prescription benefit… This year, Pence, horrified by exploding federal spending, led a backbench rebellion against a blank check for the costs of rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina… While Pence has voted with Bush 95% of the time, it’s the other 5% that sticks in his craw. “I’ve had reason to doubt [Bush's] commitment to limited government and fiscal discipline,” says Pence,” … “As a lawmaker, he has ruffled powerful feathers by repeatedly opposing GOP proposals to expand the reach of Uncle Sam. But he hasn’t been a consistent foe of federal largesse. He backed a 2002 farm bill that steered benefits to his agricultural district. “I have voted for my share of spending,” he concedes. In penance, he has offered up some home-state highway projects to help offset hurricane cleanup spending. He’s even produced a five-year, $370 billion “hit list” that targets Bush pet projects like NASA’S return-to-the-moon initiative.”
3) USA Today, 10/13/03 re: Bush’s $87 billion request for military operations and reconstruction in Iraq and Afghanistan “Pence isn’t willing to second-guess the administration’s handling of the occupation. But he does intend to argue his fiscal case when, as he expects, the White House calls him today to lobby against the loan. Whether he will face down his president or give in to pressure, as like-minded House Appropriations Committee members did last week, remains to be seen.”
4) WSJ Opinion, 1/15/07, titled No New Taxes: Bush is still getting Social Security wrong. by Mike Pence
“The administration hasn’t learned from last year. Despite electoral defeats, it is still advancing Social Security reform as an argument over solvency. The centerpiece of George Bush’s plan was to have been personal retirement accounts for workers who wanted to establish their own nest egg–a much better deal for them and a down payment on the huge liabilities owed by the entire system. Unfortunately, his plan faltered.”
5) Washington Post, 2/9/05
“Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.), said: “The Republican majority, left to its own devices from 1995 to 2000, was a party committed to limited government and restoring the balances of federalism with the states. Clearly, President Bush has had a different vision, and that vision has resulted in education and welfare policies that have increased the size and scope of government.”
6) Opinion Times, 3/12/09
“Mike Pence makes the point today that Republicans need to humbly admit they are guilty as well of profligate spending during the Bush administration. And he says that the Obama administration is guilty of “spending on steroids.”

It’s good to see a right winger acknowledge it was Bush who originally plunged the country into the desperate fiscal shape its in – never mind the economic collapse that happened on his shift.

I’m not a right winger – unless a conservative who believes in limited federal govt with strong state’s rights is a right winger.
And now you know the truth about Mike Pence. Try doing some research the next time before making assumptions.
