President Obama Grades Self: “A Good, Solid B-plus”

On her Christmas in Washington special on ABC last night, Oprah Winfrey asked President Obama to grade himself.

"Good, solid B-plus," the president said.

Explaining, he said, "we have inherited the biggest set of challenges of any president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

"We stabilized the economy, and prevented possibilities of a Great Depression or a significant financial meltdown. The economy is growing again.

"We are on our way out of Iraq. I think we've got the best possible plan for Afghanistan.

"We have reset our image around the world.

"We have achieved an international consensus around the need for Iran and North Korea to disable their nuclear weapons.

"And I think that we're going to pass the most significant piece of social legislation since Social Security, and that's health insurance for every American," he concluded.

Pressed by Oprah as to why only a B-plus, the president said, "B-plus because of the things that are undone. Health care is not yet signed. If I get health care passed we tip into A-minus."

What grade would you give him and why?

Grade F
Economy only growing because gov’t is growing-not businesses.
Iraq was winding down before he got in office – Troop levels in Afganistan took far too long to decide – almost like it was low on his priority list until public began screaming.
Health care proposal is a disgusting nightmare that only a libral could love.
No one – not even the gov’t – can spend their way to prosperity. Deficits are out of control and getting worse.
Economy is NOT getting better, POTUS thinks if he tells us repeatedly that we’ll buy it.
Do not trust this man, do not trust his Administration, do not trust Congress.
Apology tour was disgusting and his pride in USA is lacking.

Shows just how out of touch Obama is! I’m sure Michelle believes she is a fashion trend setter too :) Well, if the press only reported favorable news about you, and slanted the rest in your favor, your audiences were hand picked to agree with you when you speak, and you were surrounded by people you choose to agree with you or look for another job, why wouldn’t you think your numbers were higher. I’d give him an D because he hasn’t accomplished anything in one year- it’s politics as usual in Washington, and an F for lying about “Change” to the American people.

Posted by: Kay | December 14, 2009, 7:27 am 7:27 am

His self evaluation only further demonstrates how out of touch he is with the people.
F
For all of your reasons Anne and I would add his complete lack of character and honesty.

In kindegarten you would get an F for blameing someone else for everything. In first grade you would get an F for lieing. Beyond that you failed to pass.

F. And so would the rest of the country – he’s a -19% job approval rating. He hasn’t done anything to improve the economic or foreign policy situation. He says that “middle class” is the American dream – he is so out of touch with what true Americans want.
And now he is going to allow Congress to spend more money and raise the debt. Irresponsible. Lack of leadership. Lack of intelligent ideas to improve America’s situation. That equals a BIG F.

Robin Roberts asked Bill O’Reilly to grade Obama. He gave him a D.
Mr. O’Reilly is as neutral as they can get, and his score is accurate. I agree with the “D”.

F
Even Oprah looked like she was shocked at his answer.
Plain and simple, we cannot spend our way out of our problems. Obama has done and is doing absolutely nothing to encourage innovation, accountability, and personal responsibility. He’s lied to us time and time again, and is leading us down a very slippery slope. He is not a leader, he’s an opportunist.

Arrogance plus incompetence equals F.

Posted by: jerry | December 14, 2009, 8:07 am 8:07 am

I give him an “F”.
He assembled the worst possible group of hacks, thugs, former terrorists, liars, tax cheats and thieves to have as his administration.
None of them ever ran anything in the private sector, and it shows in our economy. They don’t know what they are talking about.
Pass the stimulus to prevent unemployment from reaching 8% by summer. Well mr. wizard, who gave you that advice? And why did you feel the need to parrot it?
Ficticous jobs in ficticous districts in states 51 through 57.
The list is very long….
The latest, praising the democrats for passing nearly $2 Trillion. Obama is an idiot that knows nothing about money, as he obviously thinks it grows on trees, or to have more, print more.
Dumbest president ever, taking the title away from Carter.

The “Incomplete” also means he is a one and done potus. Soon to be a lame duck.

I give him a D-.
I railed about W putting our future generations in enormous debt, so I would be a hypocrite if I didn’t do the same now.
I put country above party.
Obama has been a huge disappointment. He talked a great game last year, but has failed to follow through.
The debt he is piling on this country is going to break it to pieces.
Obama also has failed to be a uniter. He is the largest divider I have ever seen. This country is torn and the rhetoric is getting worse and worse.
Those that are still in the puppy love stage with him, just lash out against those that are critical, causing even more division.

I give the president a D. As in DONE, DO NOTHING, Ditdering. This man thinks highly of himself, doesn’t he. How can anyone look at all the bad decisions made that has put this country in such dire economic situation and give himself a B…I guess that’s arrogant audactiy for you.

True leaders don’t grade themselves. They let their accomplishments speak for them.
In this case, the grade is clear: F-

Posted by: Elle | December 14, 2009, 8:56 am 8:56 am

I give him an ‘A’
An ‘A’ for Arrogance.
I remember an old ditty: “I love myself, I think I’m grand, I go to the movies and I hold my hand.”
How would an actual leader answer that question? “I’ll leave it for others to judge.”

Posted by: Dave Andersen | December 14, 2009, 8:56 am 8:56 am

Arrogance, A
Economics, F
Budget & Deficit, F
Earth Science, F
American & British History, F
Speech, C*
*Barack needs to stop relying so heavily on the teleprompter. His grade would go up to a B if Barack would look staight ahead once in a while, and not look like he is watching a tennis match.
It’s time to stop emphasising Barack’s positive self-esteem and start encouraging him to learn the benefits of hard work and independence from the government. He must retake the Constitution test this Spring.
Lately, he has shown a tendency to bully people who disagree with him. I think moving him away from Rahm Emanuel may help. He has also been caught telling lies and seems to feel no remorse when confronted. He appears to miss his father as he keeps writing notes to him in abstentia.

Posted by: Ronnie | December 14, 2009, 9:30 am 9:30 am

He gets a “B” on scamming the American public into voting him in. But since then he has not CARED WHAT WE WANT. He knows most people are against the kind of health care plan he is trying to get passed, he hates a successful america and is trying to make it a socialistic country where the govt. decides everything for everyone.
Once he has taxed the wealthy till they no longer have anything left to invest, and when the businesses go out of business, where is the govt. going to get its tax money?
We ALL better call our local congressmen and senators and scream “VOTE NO” on the health care plan. Obama is trying to hurry it through before they get voted out in 2010.

I would give him a B or B+. I think the President’s assessment was fair. I notice, however, that Jake Tapper’s blog attracts a lot of comments from right wing disinformation junkies who use all the right wing smear-oriented buzzwords. It wouldn’t shock me at all if Jake took this informal survey as a reason to ask Gibbs some idiotic question about grades, even though these comments represent a very corrupted viewpoint.

Posted by: Don't ever want to go back to the GOP-driven dark ages! | December 14, 2009, 9:57 am 9:57 am

I can give him no more than an “F” because he has done nothing but rack up more debt and has plans to double the national debt to $24 trillion rather than resolving it. This is worse than reckless and will trash the dollar and leave us with a debt that cannot be resolved, ever!
Obamacare is a political ploy rather than the crisis Obama, Pelosi and Reid paint it to be. They are following the plan written by a convicted felon to implement it. It will greatly add to the debt and doesn’t even help the supposed need for the first five years, so the panic crisis is a lie.
He is pushing cap and trade which will further destroy our economy, eliminate small businesses, drive up energy costs and the price of every consumable good. And for what? It is all based upon junk science rather than time honored experimental science which leaves an open door for input. As for consensus consider that the addition of 406 new scientist signatories brings the total up to 31,478 scientists and 9,029 PhDs who completely refute alarmist claims and agree that increased CO2 is beneficial to our planet. Furthermore, this is just one of many such petitions and declarations all stating the same thing, signed by thousands of scientists around the world.
“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act,” George Orwell
Obama’s transparency? How about this healthcare campaign promise (or lie). Obama said, he’d televise negotiations on C-SPAN, with all the parties sitting at a big table. That way, Americans would be more engaged in the process and insist on real change.
“That’s what I will do in bringing all parties together, not negotiating behind closed doors, but bringing all parties together, and broadcasting those negotiations on C-SPAN so that the American people can see what the choices are, because part of what we have to do is enlist the American people in this process,” Obama said at a debate in LA .

Why shouldn’t he get a B+? It is what he has been getting all of his life-inflated grades without the production that merited them. TO: Don’t ever want to go back to the GOP-driven dark ages!
You gave him a grade but did not answer the WHY…
If we are disinformation junkies, debate our comments on their merits and do not simply dismiss them outright. You are part of the problem. Take your blinders off and offer a fair debate if you can.

Mr. Obama can grade himself at a B+ all he wants to, but according to Rasmussen, he is at his lowest approval rating since taking office (numbers out today).
Grading yourself is a joke by anyone’s standards, but as for the President, it’s ridiculous. But, he’s digging his own hole as time goes by, which I’m enjoying watching, however, the effects of his “self interests” are hurting the American public, and I’m NOT enjoying that.

Iraq – Present: The surge left everything to a basic logical conclusion with regards to turning the country back to Iraqi forces.
Afganistan: C+: Right answer Mr. President but you took took too long to come to the only conclusion that made any sense; lisening to the generals in the field.
Legislation(Cap n’ Trade/Healthcare etc) – D-: First president I know of that things that the best way to work on legislation is to suggest what needs to be done then goes to campaign on the general idea of the reform, in utopian concepts no less.
Spending control/Deficit reduction – F: Deficit is rising, need I say more.
Appointments – C-: He really needs to start vetting the people he appoints. Seems like a bulk of them are radicals or have tax problems…or both.
Bipartisianship – F: “Bipartisan” doesn’t mean useing the other side as scape-goats then asking them to rubber-stamp your policies without comment.
Economy – D+: His administration stopped a number of companies from going through bankruptcy filings, but at the same time those that were helped were really only those with a strong Union presence or large corporations. Small businesses have gotten little to no help and all signs are pointing to a “jobless recovery”, with some economists saying we won’t see a drop below 9-11% unemployment until middle-year 2011.
Reponsibility/Transparency – c: For effort on transparency, though the failures on that part might still be blamed on George W Bush…
Guantanamo – F: Foolish to think that you can close a prison without trying to find a place to put the detainees first. That’s basic logic.
Overall(not an average) – D-: He could be worse.

Posted by: bobtherepublican | December 14, 2009, 11:36 am 11:36 am

D- because the only thing he has accomplished is record spending.
He claims Iraq as an accomplishment, but all he is doing is continuing the Bush plan. He claims credit for the economy, when it has gotten worse since he took office. He also claims “”We have reset our image around the world.” when in fact if you bothered to read the foreign news our image has gotten worse.

A obvious example of “grade inflation”…
Out of touch, as usual. A more humble person would respond that it is the voters who do the grading, not him. But, Obama is definitely not known for being humble…
Seems to me that everytime The One goes on TV, his ratings suffer. Yet, this out-of-touch WH keeps trotting him out there thinking they can re-kindle the “hopey-changey magic” that got him elected. It’s not working. America has grown weary of this man, the fad has passed.

• President Obama has demonstrated a willingness to work with the Republicans.
• He has restored our image abroad.
• He has attempted to make available health care and moderately priced. prescription drugs to this country.
• Attacked the fair trade problem.
• Refocused our attention on the militant groups who attacked our countrymen on 911.
• Adverted economic catastrophe.
Futhermore, what other president has had to act as president before he is inaugurated, and then have to deal with so many problems the first day they take over?? Posted by: Dunlea | December 14, 2009, 2:21 pm 2:21 pm

I’d give him an F.
- He has presided over the most wasteful spending by government in American history. He is rapidly pushing our debt levels into the danger zone and seems unconcerned.
- He has sat on his thumbs drawing down Iraq troops, and now wants to escalate Afghanistan to record highs. He has told the Taliban to wait until we leave, then given a broad definition of what withdrawal will actually entail.
- His TARP plan backfired – by accepting back the money he has let the bankers do whatever they want to ruin America.
- His stimulus plan has been a total failure. Unemployment is at 10% and the government estimates that of the jobs it has created, each has cost over $120K each.
- He has gone out of his way to undermine financial recovery. He keeps dropping hints of raising taxes at the worst time possible – keeping businesses and citizens vigilant to the point of freezing economic acivity.
- Health care reform is a rushed, over-hyped plan that does little to reform but lots to spend money. It puts 15 million people on Medicaid, endangers seniors, and spends a lot of money to get little in return. It is a mess.
- The world is not sure what to make of us anymore. Obama is popular with foreign citizens, less so with their governments. He has been ineffective with Iran, and poor in obtaining better support from China who literally owns us. Russia is also totally unimpressed.
- He has consistently reversed himself on many campaign pledges including detainees and their treatment. He has embraced many of the Bush policies that he ran against. He has shown himself to be a man of many words – and one who cannot keep is promises.
- That’s enough for now.

This reminds me of a joke I heard:
A class had insisted that Obama’s socialistic ideals would work and soon no one would be poor and no one would be rich; he would be the great equalizer.
The professor then said, “OK,
we will have an experiment in this class on Obamas plan.
“All grades will be averaged and everyone woill receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.”
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B (like what Obama gave himself).
The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied very little.
The second test average was a D!
No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering,
blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great; but, when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

LMAO…. when Obama passes the $5 Trillion increase in the national debt that Bush managed to do, then yes, maybe he would deserve an “F”.

LOL… “His TARP plan” ……… leave it to a right-whiner to not be knowledgable enough to understand that “TARP” wasn’t Obama’s plan. TARP was a creation of the Emergency Economic Recovery Act of 2008, signed by G.W. Bush on October 3rd, 2008…. LOL … “duhh?”

Posted by: X-Republican Because of Bush | December 14, 2009, 2:53 pm 2:53 pm

Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop all this about George Bush!
Just because George Bush was an idiot, it doesn’t mean that Obama can do anything and we find it acceptable. The logic there is totally flawed. Bush is history – we have lots of other Presidents to compare Obama’s performance to. But all I ever here here is Bush, Bush, Bush.
Is anyone writing here old enough to have been an adult when there were other sitting Presidents? They all had good and bad characteristics. They all changed in popularity over time. They mostly had nothing to do with George Bush. Remember, at one time the Republicans were on top of this country. The Democrats are now. Eventually the Republicans will reinvent themselves and be on top again. It’s called history.
BTW, the RATE of Obama’s spending (yes, in just one year) is significantly higher than George Bush ever came close to. Even by Obama’s predictions, he will have drawn up the deficit to twice that of Bush after only 4 years. I agree Bush was a clown. But he was not alone in putting us into the mess we find ourselves today.

To Professor NObama, I am reminded of a joke I heard too.
Last night, a wingnut and her kids were sitting in the living room and she said to them, ‘I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some
machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug.’
They got up, unplugged the modem and router, turned off her laptop and Fox News and threw out her w(h)ine.
Those dang ungrateful progressive kids wanted her to think for herself! Jerks.

Posted by: Don't ever want to go back to the GOP-driven dark ages! | December 14, 2009, 2:58 pm 2:58 pm

Yes, Bush passed the TARP bill – but Obama presided over most of it. That’s what Presidents do – they keep things going at an executive level.
But Obama has let the banks pay back much of the TARP funds. These banks are not nearly as liquid as they should be, they are not easily under Federal control as they were when we had TARP to control them, and they now are back to bad business creating new financial vehicles to fleece the American people.
Obama had a tool to control them and he let it slip away. He is so obsessed with spending money that he wanted it back too soon – and now the banks are getting bigger and worse than ever.

I give the president an A. Good leadership, sensible decisions, deliberate leader that doesn’t make decisions from the gut(bush, Cheney). All you Loons giving this president an F are haters and are clueless of what would of happened if he followed the republican approach: Nothing and tax cuts=President Hoover(tax cut 90% to 24% for the rich)=Great Depression.

BTW, X-Republican ..
I an an independent who has voted mostly Democratic (yes, for Obama too) most of his life.
Lots of presidents have come and gone in my life and I have seen enough to know that no one is perfect in that job. I have also seen that history changes the way they are seen with time.
If it makes me a “right-whiner” to call Obama on his totally irresponsible and arrogant administration – then call me one. Clinton tried to balance the budget. Carter didn’t need to worry as we didn’t do that back then. But Obama has broken new ground with out-of-control spending.
When he raises taxes significantly – don’t come around whining that it had to do with Bush. About the only good thing Bush ever did was cut taxes for the middle class – something people fail to realize since they think all his cuts were for the wealthy. They were not. When Obama lets them lapse for everyone (not just the wealthy) – you will be horribly surprised at how much things really can cost you.

Posted by: JonF | December 14, 2009, 3:12 pm 3:12 pm

Smart America: So you want Obama to raise taxes on everyone? Again, you sound like someone who doesn’t realize that Bush wasn’t the only president in our recent history. Get over Bush – he is gone, history. If we didn’t spend so much money we wouldn’t need to raise so much revenue.
Recession + tax increase = more and longer recession. In the current case, perhaps depression.
Be careful what you wish for.

He gets an F, maybe an F- if that is possible.
It was not Bush who created the trillion dollar deficit. The POTUS is responsible for signing bills that have quadruped the debt. His grasp of economic realities is very, very poor.
Then there is the dithering over Afghanistan. Too many lives were lost during that dithering.
There is the lack of responsibility over Holder’s decision to move the trial of KSM to NYC, and to try him in a civilian court. That is utterly disgraceful.
Healthcare Reform is not reform at all. It is a total disaster. It does not address the real issues, where reform is genuinely needed.
The propaganda is getting very tired.
The war against FOX was disgusting. Ditto for the war against other private citizens.
The appointment of these czars. The latest scandal that is erupting being that of the kind of things that Kevin Jennings promoted. (yes Jennings knew exactly what was happening because he was there and he gave pointers on the subject that is so very distasteful).
Then there is the refusal to address the issue of climategate, and to continue the fraud of AGW fraud. Plus the absurdity of declaring CO2, which is needed in the life cycle of the planet, as a noxious pollutant.

(1) Bush put the country in serious debt, DOUBLING the national debt (by 100%…LOL…not 10%, not 20%…. 100% kncklehead) from $5 Trillion when he assumed office to $10 Trillion when he left office. Oh, and we’re still paying for the interest on that debt every single year, in the tune of half-a-trillion in interest (in FY08, the American taxpayer paid $451 Billion worth of interest on that $10 Trillion of debt accumulated by Bush).
(2) Bush put the country into Iraq, even though there “CLEARLY” was no evidence that the Iraq was linked with 9-11.
(3) After entering Iraq, Bush totally ignored Afghanistan… where we should have been in the first place… keeping only 30,000 troops in a country that is TWICE the size of Iraq, and yet we had 170,000 troops in Iraq.
So, JonF…. when we’ve completely recovered from the mismanagement of Bush… guess what, I’ll keep reminding you of the idiot President that put us in this mess… “copito!?” .. LOL.

LMAO ….. “wishful thinking”. Hey “jj”, there are a lot of people out there that fully understand how the Republican party put us in this mess… especially when they controlled the congress for 12 years (1995 to 2007), and the White House for 8 years (2001 to 2009).
You would think that during the time when the republicans controlled the White House AND had the majority of congress, both the House and the Senate, between 2003 and 2007, that they would have implemented laws to “make the federal government smaller” (like they always say they will) or practice being “fiscally conservative” (like they always say they will)…. LOL …. but instead, they spent like drunken sailors and actually created a whole new federal department (i.e., the Department of Homeland Security).
Sorry jjj… some of us are smart enough to not go back to crooked “use-car salesmen” (which is EXACTLY what the republican party is) twice… and rather than go back to the idiots that put us in this mess, or waste my vote on an indpendant candidate, I’ll take my chances with the democrats from now on. At least they don’t say one thing out of their mouths (i.e., “we believe in smaller government” and “we’re the fiscal conservative party”)… and then end up doing the exact opposite of what they preached.

======================================
jjj, first of all, “Fannie and Freddie” have been around for 5 to 6 decades…. so, they alone were not the cause of the current recession.
If you really want to understand what caused the current financial crisis, go look up these things called “credit default swaps”, which offered false insurance coverage of mortgage securities on the stock market… created by a law called the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000.
The other law that contributed to the current economic recession was the Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999, which basically repealed the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933, and permitted commercial banks to start acting like investment banks, and insurance agencies, etc. The FSMA of 1999 basically took away all the regulation of financial markets that was put in place by the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933.
Oh yeah, and BTW…. both laws were pushed/sponsored by Republicans, when we had a republican majority in both the house and senate (1999 and 2000)… specifically, both laws were drafted by Phill Gramm (Republican – Texas). And yes, before you come back with it… the Democrats had a hand in it to because Bill Clinton signed the bills into law.
Still…. after these two laws, and the record of the republicans in the congress from 1995 to 2007, and the White House from 2001 to 2009…. LOL… I have no intent on going back to those crooks.

(1) Carter was in “1977″. … LOL.
(2) Clinton was “1993 to 2001″, and he had a republican congress from 1995 to 2001. For only two years (1993 to 1995) Clinton had a democratic congreess.
(3) Bush, on the other hand, had a REPUBLICAN congress for 6 of his 8 years in office… 2001 to 2007.
So what you’re saying is that in those 6 years that the Republicans controlled the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives… 2001 to 2007… they were not “Strong Enought” to change a law that Carter signed in 1977 or that Clinton enforced in the 90′s…. LOL …

Obama giving himself that grade will come back to haunt him. It will be used against him in his re-election bid.
1. Tarp was a bipartisan fiasco. It was started by Bush and opposed by the majority of the Congress. Bush included Obama in much of the decision making because he did not want to saddle him with something he could not undo.
2.The stimulus was a failure. Why else are they talking about a 2nd one. Simply divide how much money was spent by how many jobs were created and it equals failure.
3. People may try to spin but Obama has increased the deficit by more than any other President.
4. Afghanistan was put on the back burning because Al Queada declared that Iraq was the most important battle ground
5. Those who say we took our eyes off the ball in Afghanistan will be the first to say how we need to get out if things do not progress well.

Why didn’t the Republicans “undo” the problems Carter and Clinton made for the country with the CRMA? It’s far harder to STOP something once it’s been enacted than to get it enacted in the first place. The first roadblock is the power of the Senate to filibuster. While they were in power usually when the GOP tried to redress a problem there were at least 40 Democrats marching lockstep against them. It was a constant challenge to overcome the filibuster power of the minority.
Secondly the GOP is by its nature not prone to risks. In 1995 they locked horns with Clinton over a 1.3% difference in spending levels and almost got creamed in the subsequent two elections. Democrats paraded well-fed though nervous school age children before the cameras to claim the GOP wanted to starve them to death and the press loved it. Ironically I think the GOP would be content with minority status if the Democrats could ever treat them like a proper Loyal Opposition and resist the urge to kick them when they walked by.

LMAO!…………. “Yeah!” Here’s an example: In 1999, when the Republicans held he majority of the congress (Senate and House), Phil Gramm and a bunch of Republicans sponsored and co-sponsored a bill called the “Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999″… this was the law that repealed most of the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 which was a law that regulated banks after the Great Depression.
The republicans had “NO” problem repealing the Glass-Steagall Act in 1999… LOL… don’t see what their problem was trying to fix laws that caused problems from the Carter or Clinton eras.
Bottom Line: The reason the republicans couldn’t do anything about the 1977 Carter era law… was because they were worthless…. LOL.

If he was honest he would have given himself a incomplete. Because much of what he says he inherited is still a work in progress to correct. I think he needs to quit blaming others for what problems he faces. This is his Presidency to screw up now. If the Afghanistan war does not improve it will be his war to lose. If jobs do not get created and unemployment does not go down it will be his mistakes that will be to blame. We have treated all President’s this way and its the best way to Judge. Meanwhile, as Obama pats himself on the back…
From the Department of Labor Web site:
“States reported 4,178,780 persons claiming EUC (Emergency Unemployment Compensation) benefits for the week ending Nov. 21, an increase of 327,729 from the prior week. There were 729,256 claimants in the comparable week in 2008. EUC weekly claims include first, second, and third tier activity.”
In other words, the 10% unemployment rate published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics is a total fabrication because these EUC recipients are not included. SIX TIMES the number of unemployed are receiving emergency unemployment compensation now than a year go. Over 4.1 million people. And pretty soon, these people will fall off the rolls completely.

Komissar Obamavitch is so low that he has to climb a ladder to kiss a snakes ass.
Obgungle is so low that he could sit on a dime and swing both feet.
One great thing about Obummer is that he reinforces the perception that blacks eff up everything they touch.

I say they all get an F. Obama, Clinton, Carter, Bush they all sucked and Obama is probably the worst. He is intent on destroying this country and has a group of morons following him through. The people are not being served. Scrap all of these corrupt politicians, make it so that serving in the White house, Senate or Congress is a civil servant normal paying position without perks and real patriots who love this country will step in.
Americans are sick of the debauchery and corruption in Washington.

I would rate him a f for failure. This man has done nothing right since he has been in office. Let me tell you what he is good at. Doing shows like Oprah acting like a celebrity. Thats what he is good at. I can’t believe he rated himself a b plus what a joke.

Posted by: Helen | December 15, 2009, 8:07 am 8:07 am

B+…did he say B+?? What world is he living in (or what is he smoking). D+ would be more than generous. F being more realistic. This dude is so full of himself, it’s starting to be kind of sad.

I love it Odumbo – B+ this guy is not only weak, he is stupid. Who does he think he is President. He was elected to be President, I can’t wait for him to start being a President. I fear all we got was a big mouth, who does just about everything wrong no matter who it hurts. My God were we fooled, we wanted change so much we bought his act. Operative word is act.
It’s our fault for electing someone with no history of accomplishments 0 None

CHIT!!!!!!!!!thats a joke

History, if it is truthful, will record this as the worst in American History. A footnote will be that President Obama graded himself as a B+. It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.

Posted by: LaidOff | December 15, 2009, 10:31 am 10:31 am

There’s no humility in 0bama. A true leader would have said that it’s for the American people to grade him on what he’s accomplished or not accomplished.

Posted by: Humility | December 15, 2009, 11:41 am 11:41 am

Why all the hate? If he gives himself a B+, it shows that all the hate thrown at him on a daily basis is not diminishing him. He still feel confident in his abilities not to let what others think make him feel less about himself.

I see the word “arogance” thrown around
alot here. Haters , we know what that really mean don’t we? The nerve of President Obama acting like a President

F-
talk about hypocrisy
Barack the Afghan O’Bomber picks up his Nobel peace prize at the same time he sends 30,000 more young men to die in the empire graveyard..Afghanistan..not to mention the innocent little Afghan girls and boys, women and men alike that will be murdered as well..utterly sickening..why are we there? oil for banksters and billionaire oligarchs and poppies/opium for heroin and big pharma

I give the President a B+…I give all the haters without an innovative mind an F-.

Posted by: justayreal | December 15, 2009, 2:49 pm 2:49 pm

Obama rates an F on the economy as the
unemployment rate has soared to 10
percent in his first year and the
787 billion dollar “porkulous bill”
which was supposed to create millions
of jobs hasn’t worked!
He gets an F in foreign policy as his
lame attempts at talking Iran and North
Korea into giving up their nuclear
programs has been a failure.
Maybe he gets a D+ for finally
making a decision to send another
30,000 troops to Afganistan to support
the effort there and possibly turn the
war around.
D+ because the decision took too long
to make. How many brave soldiers died
while the president weighed the
political winds.
This president always tries to play
both sides against the middle instead of
just doing what’s right for the
country that’s why his overall
grade is an F!

Libbiehater, you said it so well. Good post from you Jenn.

Do you think that the President was grading himself on the curve? Maybe the idea is to throw out the lowest scores (say on promises delivered relative to promises made and thought about) and then adjusted the final grade?
A couple of things that he might have been thinking about when he tallied the score. A few were obviously thrown out as needing real improvement -
1. Pizza and Beer parties between the Cops and angry Academics. High grade on this one.
2. Executive pitch for the Olympics.
This one gets a very low grade.
3. First State Dinner. The Beer and Pizza party wen a lot better.
4. Traveling pretty much everywhere whether he needs to go or not. High marks on this one.
5. Czar selection. Another tough one to give thumbs up.
6. Transparency. Well he did open up the Visitors log at the White House.
7. Bipartisanship. He has his guys work Olympia Snow on the Health Bill. A+
8. Dog selection. Banged this one out of the park.
9. Job creation through Stimulus Bill. Well, this one needed a little help so some of the guys made up some numbers – but, we know its working: Joe Biden says so. A+
10. Line by line review of every budget item. Well, he would have if he hadn’t been so rushed – the Government needed money or no one would get a pay check. He promises to do it one of these days. A+
11. Speeches in general. Again, banged this one out of the park – except that one at West Point; everyone was so tense and he was just not sure he wanted to give the speech in the first place. (Throw that speech out). Otherwise, high marks, even straighnt A’s.
12. Bragging that he save the US economy from the brink. Big marks across the board.
But – you know – he couldn’t have counted everything – she asked him so quick and he didn’t have time to put it altogether.

Bashing and bias aside- by grading his body of work (or lack there of) a B-plus, Obama is basically saying things are significantly better and there isn’t much more he can do for a straight A.
Now be honest with yourself. Are things significantly better? Is there much room for improvement?
Now if only Obama would be honest with himself.

That he would grade himself at all indicates that he still sees himself in school protected by an illusionary cloak of academic meritocracy. Meanwhile in the real world, we remain in a war where there are more suicides of our own soldiers then those felled by bullets of the enemy. And he surrounds himself with the very financial gangsters who placed us in this mess to begin with. But for a puppet of special interests not that bad.

Americans americans!!its time to get rid of racism!Just because Obama is a black doesnot mean you will continually expose him to your critics…what about Bush?what is it that he did?war mongering!!! was that the best for Americans?Come back to earth people!!

Does he generally make this up along the way , I Mean i Respect the fact that he ran for president and won but does he really have to lie about the future? i mean anyone with a brain can tell that he isn’t keeping these ago , Sadly i think we should have picked mccain and as for people who chose obama and now hate the fact he is in office , What is wrong with you? , Did you pick him out of race or did you pick him out of his real abilitys?!?! , We made a mistake and now all we can do is rely he might by a slight chance do what he promised
