The Salahis Speak: “We were invited, not crashers”

ABC News’ Karen Travers reports: The now infamous White House gatecrashers, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, appeared on television for the first time since last week’s event and insisted they were invited to last week’s state dinner. “We were invited, not crashers. There isn't anyone that would have the audacity or the poor behavior to do that,” Michaele said on NBC’s Today Show. Tareq said that he is “certain” he and his wife will be “completely exonerated” and that within the next several days they will be able to share the rest of their story. “We’re going to be coming up to New York soon and we’re going to show you documentation from emails that you’ll get a chance to see,” Tareq said, without getting more specific. “I think the American public is actually going to be extremely surprised with all the details that went from beginning to end into what was supposed to be a lovely, beautiful evening.” Michaele said that “with time” their full story will be heard but for now “our lives have been destroyed.” Tareq said he and his wife had been “very candid” and cooperative with the Secret Service’s investigation into the incident. “We're respecting their timeline and we're working on their timeline and we want to get through that process,” he said. “We've been very candid with them. We've turned over documentation to them, and we'll continue to work with the U.S. Secret Service completely all the way through this process.” The Salahis also denied reports they had crashed the Congressional Black Caucus dinner in September and were escorted out by security. “Another false accusation against my wife and I saying that we weren't invited there,” Tareq said “Were we escorted out? Of course not. That's another gossip rumor, just, unfortunately, how this story got started, through a gossip column.” Michaele Salahi insisted that at no point has the couple talked about accepting a payment for an interview, after reports last week that they were shopping around their story. Tareq Salahi’s brother, Dr. Ismail Salahi, said that this incident is just the latest in a pattern of bad behavior from his brother and his wife. “I was shocked but I definitely don't put it past him and his wife to do something like this,” Dr. Salahi said. “Anybody who digs a little bit on them will find they love media attention. They love the press.” But friends jumped to their defense. “She did say she was officially invited to the state dinner. However I never saw the invitation,” Theresa Foss-Conlan told CNN. “I know that she had correspondence with social secretary…about the attire. She had her on some type of list.” -Karen Travers

Funny. They are claiming an african american woman, michelle jones from the pentagon, was going to hook them up.
The whole thing seems more like the Clinton Chronicles, but with a Jefferson’s ‘moovin on up’ theme.
When do we get to talk about CRU and the fraud, Jake? You do know that one of the Czars was one of the psuedo scientists whose emails have been released?
Cowbell for Climate Gate Jake!!!

We still would like to know why the photo of these people with our President was published on the White House’s Yahoo Flickr page. Then, we would like to know exactly why Obama has a page on Yahoo’s Flickr site at all. Other than obvious security concerns, we know for a fact that Yahoo’s Flickr is in reality a pornographic web site, even though it is no way labeled as such.
Yahoo’s Flickr hosts the largest collection of hardcore pornographic images in the world now and that is a simple fact. Yet, somehow it is allowed into most our schools and libraries, since Yahoo represents it as a family friendly web site. So much so, that not only the White House, but our State Department, the GOP, the Library of Congress, The Smithsonian Institute and many other supposedly reputable organizations use Flickr without apparently knowing it’s really a very pornographic web site. Is this how our tax dollars are being spent now? Supporting the participation and endorsement of an unlabeled adult web site that hosts millions of hardcore porn images shared by countless perverts, pedophiles and sexual predators with our children?
The White House must have been really proud of these two, to feature them on their porn site web page for all the world to see. What the heck is happening there in Washington these days, where everyday it’s amateur hour? Not good at all, and fairly disgusting to witness this ongoing fiasco that proves the level of incompetence and lack of oversight in our capital. We can’t really blame Yahoo too much for the PR stunt that covertly disguises their porn site, Flickr, as a legitimate social network so they can make more money, but our government should behave a little better than that, in our opinion.

Michaele is habitual liar. Is here name even really Michaele? Sounds like she tried to make hers more cultuarally similar to her husband Tareq.
How do the Washington Redskins have no record of her being a cheerleader yet she shows up at their alumni event.
They crashed the CBC event. I’m sure there’s plenty more examples.
They should like freeloaders.

They came with Immelt from GE, one of Obama’s biggest donor’s and reciever of billions in stimulus money.
And they came with a Bravo camera crew.
The adminstration let them in, then fed the secret service to the hungry Bus Monster Obama keeps out back behind the basket ball court.

Why so much idle speculation and accusation about something when you have no way of knowing what really happened?

Sure the government can’t adequately handle a 300 person guest list but they’ll be able to run government healthcare. LOL!

Sure, like the Secret Service will be running health care.
This comment would be laughable if it weren’t so stupid.

Anyone who thinks that you can simply ‘sneak’ into the White House without an authorized person allowing you in, has got to be kidding.
The left hand didn’t know what the right was doing.
But it’s typical of the WH to blame these guests rather than it’s own crew.
