Clinton Suggests She’s a One-Term Secretary of State
ABC's Kirit Radia reports: In an interview aired this evening Secretary of State Hillary Clinton suggested she is not interested in serving more than four years should President Obama win a second term. Clinton was asked by PBS's Tavis Smiley whether she could "imagine yourself doing all four years and, if asked, doing it for another four years." She replied "No, I really can't." Clinton clarified that she was referring to serving in a second term, saying "the whole eight, I mean, that that would be very challenging. But I, you know, I don't wanna make any predictions sitting here." Later Clinton again ruled out another run for the presidency, something she has maintained for months. She said she was "absolutely not interested." In an interview with ABC's Cynthia McFadden in October, Clinton also ruled out a run for her old Senate seat or for New York governor.

If I were Mrs. Clinton, I would never want to work for Mr. Obama. He never put forward any innovative ideas. He just tell people he wants this and that. I would be stupid to burn the midnight oil while he golfs, plays basketball, and body surfs at an expensive seaside resort.

You people are too critical and have too much expectation of our Greatest Smartest Clueless Leader. It’s not he who did not want to help you – I can guarantee you that he truly wants to help you.
The only small problem is that he had and still has Zero experience, Zero ideas, Zero abilities to lead to accomplish what he wanted, as evidenced by the results of the past year, a big “0″.
Leave him alone, and hope, yes, HOPE, sky won’t fall in the next 36 months. And, our GSCL realizes the limitations of his big 0, and declares he quits. Then, perhaps, HRC would come for rescue.

Yeah, Clinton is a one-termer Sec of State because she KNOWS she will seek nom for 2012 election. She is a liar, She believes she DESERVES to be prez, as if it is an entitlement to her. She makes me sick. You heard it here first…she WILL seek nomination for 2012 prez election.

If Hillary ran for Presidency in 2012, and asked independent Scott Brown to be the VP, I’m positive they would win. Obama will get re-elected if he gets Bin Laden, and creates miracle. Not his fault he became president when things were so messed up, and when this happens people want constant change and reason why I don’t think he will win. Not because he isn’t a good man, but because the country is looking for a quick fix, and to keep the same person whould go against the relief from trying a newer and hopefully better remedy. I don’t think Palin has a chane now. Scott took her tunder as he seems smart, but because people are careful he would only get elected with someone strong, like Hillary. I also don’t think the country is healed enought to let a republicans be president. It will take a while to forget the last several years. Hillary will provide comfort, and Brown the change and hope everyone wants so bad. Obama will be great at other work in the future, hopefully secretary of state since the world likes him and he’s a great ambassador. I haven’t been wrong in ages and scare myself at times for being right, even in sports, i guess winners, yet don’t watch, just get a sense from what i hear. Two years ago i guessed every win and emloyees thaught i had inside info., but didn’t. My preditiction. Hillary and scott, not by choice, but by demand. She’ll say yes when push comes to shove…

The world just got a little sadder. I wish she would run for president but after all her great service, forty years, she deserves to live well as a private citizen. There will never be another like her.
I wish her well. Godspeed Hillary.

That’s alright. She hasn’t been that effective anyway. Her war stance is horrible and she never seems to get any breakthroughs. All she does is insult people and p!## them off in other countries. She’s a female version of McCain as far as her war policies. You can see the growth in the bags under her eyes. Second only to Grandma Albright. Bags under the eyes must be a female, Democratic trait. Needs a shot of botox. She’d be stern fourth grade teacher. She’d take the kids’ chairs and bounce them up and down. She looks angry.

I’m not at all happy with the Clinton statement. I don’t see what good it does to let those she is presently negotiating with know that she is a “short timer”. Likewise I’m concerned that it will push the bureaucrats in the State Department even further to the left of reality.

She’s about 60-61…we’re about the same age, and believe me trekking all over the world is not an older woman’s job. It’s more a younger person’s job. You start to feel it in your legs, your back, and things start to fail. I don’t care what she says, she’s probably tired of the world travel. It takes its toll.
Also, I’m not sure she has a world political goal. I mean, is one of her goals an Israeli-Palestinian peace pact? Is a goal to bring Iran back into the world fold? I don’t know what her goal(s) is.

I agree with Young-voter.Obama is weak and lazy.He has the WORDS but no KNOW-HOW. Yes he loves his play time. He needs to get that suit off and get near the real people. I don’t like Hillary very much either. But I bet she sees and hears a lot she is not happy about.

I think it’s very difficult for anyone who’s intelligent, and who has drive, to be in a middle-management-like position. Secretary Clinton must have some well-informed opinions on what needs to be done, but in the end she’s obligated to carry out the President’s agenda.
Posted by: nowizard | January 28, 2010, 8:01 am 8:01 am
You can’t really decide these things at this early stage, can you? If Obama remains popular and Democrats are doing well, who knows what Hillary will decide to do? It is another matter if things don’t turn out as well. She might even want to be President again.

Hillary is one and done as Sec’ty of State. The deal her and Obama worked out before she accepted the job to run State, was SHE would be the VP on the DEM ticket in the 2012 re-election campaign.
But ONLY Obama, Hillary, Bubba, and Michelle know about that.

Wow, some of the ignorance in the comments section is staggering. Particularly annoying, the idea that we need a man in the position of SOS because the Middle East doesn’t take woman seriously. How totally offensive. So we should let the bigotry and misogyny of the Middle East dictate our political practices? What a pathetic idea. The U.S. should lead not follow. If someone thinks a woman is inferior that’s their problem and indicative of a barbaric culture.

Well let me see…who is the one showing how infective is and lack of leadership in every area? In the economy, in health care, in jobs, in immigration reform, etc? Obama!
In the foreign relations he set up this wicked strategy of having practically 3 voices out there, first Mr. “foot in the mouth” Biden taking positions and travel overshadowing the Secretary of State, then a series of “Special Envoys”, and finally himself with his love for adulation from the crows overseas; it’s very hard for a Secretary of State to do anything in this government. Barry Nobama wants it all…he blames everybody when things go wrong and try -like always including last night- to take credit for things he never done.
This guy has no clue of government, bad time for us to have a egomaniac learning how to be a leader in the White House!

Clinton is right not discussing her tomorrow plans before they are intercepted. That she will be a one-term Secretary of State is highly advisable so she can prepare for either the 2012 election if Obama decides not to run and return to civilian life; or to muster forces together for a run in 2016. Either way, Clinton has a plan-you bet. And should!

In 2016 she would be 68 (turn 69 a week before election). Campaigning is tough at that age.
Sec of state is a tough life draining job. Most only last a term.
I wonder if she would run for Governor or something like that?

PRESIDENT PALIN!?!? Just typing that made me nauseous. She is not the sharpest knife in the drawer and should realize her limitations. Her potential to be our next POTUS is not there but I’m sure she has many fantasies about leading our country….right down the drain. She couldn’t even complete one term as governor of Alaska. Would she also bail out on leading the country if she found it to be difficult.

Is this a good thing that Hillary wasn’t chosen for President? One year as State Secretary and she already knows she is spent physically and emotionally. She obviously wouldn’t have stood the pressure of President. But give her the benefit of the doubt. Under current policies she has an impossible mandate and a job description that no one even Bill Clinton could fulfill with the current US foreign US policies.
