Obama Vacation Day 10

From ABC News' Jon Garcia: After his regular early morning workout at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii and following a secure conference call with top aides investigating what went wrong with anti-terror programs, President Obama took his daughters, Malia and Sasha, and some other members of his family to the Sea Life Park, a privately owned marine park about ten miles down the coast from the Obama's vacation rental.

The park, which normally opens at 10:30 am local time, admitted the Obama party at about 9 am, ensuring the public–and the press–would not interrupt their visit. They stayed for about an hour before returning to Kailua. No word on what they did inside.

Then by noon, the Obama family was off to the beach, again on the grounds of the Marine base, again ensuring that the general public and press don’t interrupt their family time. After three hours of sun and surf, the First Family headed home to prepare for an evening out for dinner.

To round out day ten of their vacation, the Obama's and a party of at least nine, including senior advisor Valerie Jarrett, stopped by Lucy's Bar and Grill in Kailua for dinner.

Tomorrow, day eleven, is scheduled to be the last day of the family vacation.  An aide says they are leaving a little early because the President has a lot on his plate and is eager to get back to DC.

How nice, while we are having to go thru the effects of Climate Change, you know the more CO2 that is released the hotter the planet will get to worrying about where the next terrorist will come from, even though according to NEWSWEEK

Now a prominent scientist has come out with a statement that instead of warming we are going to have at least 50 years of a cooling trend. Buy a coat and let Obama stay in H.

This should be a public relations disaster for Obama…but it won’t be. Rather its something along the lines that he needed the time off to recover from the exhaustion of having to deal with the “last 8 years.”

Aw, screw that boring, useless stuff about Barky’s adminsitration colossal failure to put 2 and 2 together and allowed a terrorist attack to happen killing almost 300 on a plane and countless others on the ground..
…I need to know more about what Barky had for breakfast. Did he have waffles? Did he like them? Syrup..was there syrup involved.
Thanks guys, for staying on top of the really, really important stuff.

Heaven forbid the President of the United States dare to take a vacation. And we pay the leader of the free world? Wow – what a scandal. He should be chained to his desk 365 days a year during the day and working a second job at night to earn food money.

Exclusive? Everyone knows that on the 18th, before Christmas, Obama approved an escallation of attacks on Al Quaida in Yemen. Hardly surprising that before launching the cruise missiles Obama recieved a briefing. And in retrospect, it is awfully nice to see that he was taking military action against them before they launched their underwear bomber attack – perhaps the smoking holes in the ground around him distracted the bomb maker?

Must be a slow news day. God help the general public to invade his vacation that the tax payers are paying for. I dont see this joker getting reelected, cant wait to see where they are going on Spring break.

The man has vacationed more than Bush! At least Bush and Clinton vacationed either at the ranch or at a friends home. Obama, no, he has to rent a 4,000 a night vacation home for at least 10 freaking days.
Obama = Bush

The ‘arguments’ put forward by Republicans and the right are so phony who bothers to listen to them anymore?
Like a bunch of zombies they crawl around trying to spread their slime.
When the Bush administration left office the unemployment rate was at 7.6% and skyrocketing – hundreds of thousands of jobs were being lost every month. The stock market had crashed. Major banks and financial insitutions were crashing. Foreclosures and bankruptcies were through the roof.
Oh yes, this is all the current President’s fault.
Try being authentic for a change – the Republicans and the right are an embarrassment to the country.

I wish they would stop saying that the President is on vacation when he (no matter who is in office) happen to be somewhere other than Washington. The Vice President is not in charge. It’s more like telecommuting than a vacation.

The problem with those of you who get stuck in your ideologue is that you can’t see that Obama vacations as much as Bush. And, if you explain that Obama is working on vacation then you have to say that Bush worked on vacation as well.
Obama = Bush
Hopefully, those of you who post 24/7 will find a job in the new year.
Peace out, T!

I don’t recall Bush turning power over to Cheney during that time. No President takes time off. Period. They are still President no matter where they are. They don’t need to be in Washington to continue working. As I said before, it is more like telecommuting than it is a vacation.

At Sea Life Park, Sasha and Malia swam with the dolphins while their dad watched from the side lines. That’s what they did inside. Swimming with the dolphins is a very popular activity at Sea Life Park. I’m sure the girls enjoyed it.

approximate # of vacation days for last five presidents:
Carter – 79 ; Clinton – 152 ; Reagan – 335 ; Bush Sr – 543 ; Geo W – 1020

Posted by: Kitty | January 4, 2010, 9:17 am 9:17 am

Kitty – Please Actually George W took the least then any other President, also had the least amount of Tax payers bill for dinners and vacations.
Ob ama already spent more tax dollars on vacationing then the last 5 Presidents combined (it ws @50,000 dollars a day when he went to Martha’s vineyard of just tax dollars)
So please, Thou I think he should take the next 1111 days for Vacation!!

Posted by: spock | January 4, 2010, 11:51 am 11:51 am

Also please note Obama has tasken over a 100 days Vacation, IN HIS FIRST YEAR!!!! (only 365 days in a year)

Posted by: spock | January 4, 2010, 11:54 am 11:54 am

For those knocking Pres GW Bush, he actually never took a Vacation, he went to his Ranch or Camp David, he did not go trollying around the Would on Tax Dollars!! Especially when the same Libs attacked CEOs for doing the same thing!! the difference is the CEO’s were not on Tax dollars at the time!!

Posted by: spock | January 4, 2010, 11:57 am 11:57 am

Going to Camp David is not a vacation-it has all of the security, communications and capability of the White House. The Catoctin area is 1/2 hour from Pennsylvania Ave. by helicopter. The “cabins” can accomidate staff, cabinet members and foreign leaders. The problem with Obama is the perception that he is taking too much time off- when he ran a campaign implying that the country was going down the drain and needed aggresive leadership you don’t expect a leader to have a cavalier job attitude.

Posted by: Nephron | January 4, 2010, 12:50 pm 12:50 pm

Obama has his own money idiots, it’s not tax dollars that he’s spending. With the year that he has had, he deserves to get away. As president, you are allowed to choose where you want to go on vacation, just as any american. Get off his case! Him being in Washington or Hawaii, isn’t going to make the world end.

Obama needs to continue his vacations when he is done being president. We have wars going on. We also have the jobless rate the highest it has been. We have too many issues going on here for our president to be vacationing every other month. If the job is too stressful then someone else needs to do the job. We need a leader in office in Washington.

There is nobody I have spoken to since B.O. became president of my country who has a good thing to say about him. He is the worst and most dangerous president this country has ever suffered thru. We can hardly wait till he is gone from this country. He has even given Harvard a bad name since he associates himself with the school.
