Pelosi: ‘Right on Course’ on Health Care, Regardless of Massachusetts
ABC News’ Dean Norland reports:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi today emerged from a meeting of House Democratic leaders to declare that a health care bill will be passed by Congress soon — regardless of what happens in the special election in Massachusetts.
“We’re still on course resolving differences between the House and Senate bills. We have revenue and investment issues that we sent to CBO already, and now we are dealing with some of the policy issues. So we’re right on course. We will have a health care reform bill and it will be soon,” said Pelosi, D-Calif.
While today’s election could cost Democrats their 60-vote super-majority in the Senate, Pelosi said that doesn’t change the landscape for getting a bill done.
Her comments suggest that she’s not inclined to simply approve the Senate version of the health care legislation, as some Democrats have been advocated as a means to fast-track final approval if they lose a Senate seat.
“Regardless of what happens in Massachusetts, we still have to resolve the differences between our two bills. We still have to communicate with our members about the direction they want us to go in [on] certain particular issues.”
“Our eye is on the ball of passing legislation. In order to do that, we have to resolve some differences, establish some priorities, make some decisions. And that’s what we’re doing. Whatever happens in Massachusetts, we have to do that. And whatever happens in Massachusetts, we will pass quality, affordable health care for all Americans, and it will be soon.”

Possible Contraception Compromise in D.C.
Ummmmm …. this lady needs a reality check. And it seems that she is forgetting that she is in Washington to respresent the WILL of the PEOPLE. She does not have a RIGHT to CRAM this awful health bill down everyone’s throats. Why would she want to? Sounds like a career buster to me!

That’s right, the will of the people that was expressed in Nov 2008. A special election in MA doesn’t change that.

Arrogance beyond belief, she knows she will not be reelected to the congress but it looks like she wants to take the rest of the democrats down with her. We elect these people to do what we want not what they want.

The more they see of the agenda, the more they don’t like it. If it wasn’t for idendity politics, Obama would be back in Ill.
I knew Bush was a tone deaf, stubborn moron, who believed only in his hubris and the sycophants that praised him absent any merit. I did not know that the Democrats would see that as an effective way to govern.
Maybe the problem is bigger than the Presidency, maybe the political system is irrevocably broken since the incumbents draft safe districts every few years.
But this problem will only get worse if the Exectutive and Legislative branches continue to ignore and slander the political will of their constituents.
He has been in office one and already lost the independents and disaffected Republicans from Bush II. All he has left is his base, and they are all in the bunker lashing out and throwing grenades at the perimeter, when a full army of people are marching against them.
Obama will be overrun by the CURRENT, relevant, political will of the people. It’s his decision wether he wants to go down with Pelosi and Reid, or like Bill Clinton, revamp his message and ideology to work with the other side of the aisle and give America the moderate solutions, that it calls for; Instead of the hard left or hard right theocracies that we have been subjected to since the death of JFK.

If Brown wins, it’s over for this bill. And, it will give a bunch of Dems the excuse to reevaluate the entire initiative. She’s trying to keep a stiff upper lip here, but she’s toast.

“Pelosi: ‘Right on Course’”
“Right on course”? Oh yeah, the captain of the Titanic said that too…right before he hit the iceberg.

While I do not care for the health care reform in it’s current draft, I do support changing the system, just not by making more deals with the devil’s who profit off the sick and chronically ill.
Now I am going to ask the question here because I don’t see a difference – an earthquake is just another random act of life to be blunt. It happens, injuries occur, and it is often deadly to some of the population. These people in Haiti (whom are normally very poor and unable to have health insurance) are being rushed aid by us, surgical aid, medical aid, food and water in order to assist them as their needs are many and great.
But why are they different from those in the USA who face this kind of life everyday? Why are we so willing to help people in another country and so resistant to helping those exact same poor people who live in the USA? Why are we against showing compassion to those who live in our country, to those who cannot help the situation of the life they live. Poor is poor, most people do not make 40K a year and they have kids. Why have kids? Because they are contributing to the growth of their family and this country. But why are so many people against helping those people, who if were in your shoes would gladly pay to help those less forunate than they are.
What is the difference here? Why help Haiti’s and not our own? Go figure….

Botox causes paralysis of muscles when injected into the forehead to alleviate furrows and wrinkles. Possibly some of Nancy’s botox leached into her brain causing her to become incapable of rational thought.

I just can’t help reading them , enjoying them, heck, I even wrote one!..is it Nancy’s dismissive laugh? her frozen smile that sends a shiver up my spine?..(not to be confused with a chill up the leg)Is it that crooked hand swatting away questions too stupid to be dignified with an answer? WHAT IS IT ABOUT THIS WOMAN?
