The Presidential Planner
From Sunlen Miller:
Hoping to make science and math "cool" again, President Obama today will honor about 80 educators from across the country for awards received for excellence in mathematics and science teaching and mentoring.
The president will deliver remarks in the East Room in the early afternoon.
Today marks the president's second event of the “Educate to Innovate” campaign event for excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) education.
The White House says the president will also announce "key new partnerships in his campaign to help reach the Administration’s goal of moving American students from the middle to the top of the pack in science and math achievement over the next decade."

It’s so cool having a cool president who can make such cool announcements about making science and math cool again. It’s a cool idea to announce key new partnerships too.
The remarks he will “deliver” (deliver remarks? cool) this afternoon will be way cool.
And hip.

I wonder if the rightwing will also claim this program as an indoctrination, socialist plot to brainwash students

Can you read? They’ve been on the front page several times a week for almost a year now.

Liberal projection. I for one don’t “hate” or even “dislike” President Obama. I do think he was largely given a pass by the media – and also by the voting public – over the past couple of years.
Oscar Wilde said “Life is an imitation of art,” and the media and the public wanted a cool, intellectual, post-racial president. As another wit once said, the voters are now being punished.
I think the Bush Sr. quote is hilarious. Bush Sr. may be many things, good and bad, but he should never have assigned himself the task of making things “cool.”
Obama, on the other hand, may be one cool dude, but announcements about making math and science “cool again” are not, well, cool.

One area of study good science students go into is medicine. President Obama’s policies- cutting deficits by lowering doctor reimbursements made by medicare- could directly affect these student’s future and the decisions they make.
I hope he keeps that in mind.

jhw..I was talking about THIS site, and what’s going on THIS week..but since you bring up the papers and the last several months..I want to know what paper you are reading..because the details of this bill have only been released at the last minute (by both Pelosi and Reid)..we have all been arguing about what we THOUGHT might be in it..it’s still not in its final form today..(will Nebraskan’s be exepted from medicaid increases? How high is the fine? Will Union members have to pay a tax on their cadillac plans?)I’m not worried, Nancy said “trust me”

Cindy, baby, take it easy! It is all gonna be on C-SPAN. Obama has promised us.

Not a word on any network last night about C-span calling out the socialist pigs to televise the healthcare debate

Where’s the Transparency?
Obama and Dem leaders agree to keep health reform negotiations a closed-door affair, bypassing conference committee that would have opened process to scrutiny
…Typical of a lowlife leftwing scumbag

No MayBee,doctors will make up for the cuts by being greedy. You know, the will just do more unnecessary tonsillectomies. They will also do more leg amputations to get those five figure fees.I know that is true because President Obama told us so and he is a brilliant man.He is so gifted that he claimed health care proceedings would be televised; now that they will not be you actually now see his supporters not believing their own eyes.We are lucky to have such a man-we haven’t had one since P.T. Barnum.

Gibbs:
“Obama has no regrets about promising negotiations live on C-Span”.
So that means Obama has no regrets for lying to Americans just to get elected.
He said what people wanted to hear and still is.
Sadly Obama’s lies are still working.
49% approve of the job Obama is doing.
Very scary.

Why anyone other than elementary school kids still thinks Obama is cool is beyond me.
If people are still that gullible I feel sorry for them and for our country.

You can attribute this to the conspiracy by the MSN NOT to talk about OBama in a negative light. haven’t you noticed that the 3 major networks have virtually the SAME stories on OBama…they all are in constant contact with Obama on what to say….This was admitted by MSNBC as Joe and Mika kept looking at thier blackberries and the White house was tell them what they wanted put on the air

According to Barry, “televising” is kind of like his definition of “Excise Tax.” Stuff won’t actually be on TV and the other is not actually a tax.

Obama vowed 8X’s to televise health care negotiations.
He’s desperate to get it passed before the State of The Union speech. His first year has been a disaster and needs something big to brag about.
Doesn’t even matter to Obama that most Americans do not want it.
ObamaCare is so ugly he wants to hide itand even has to pay off his own party to get it passed.

It’s not about making science and math “cool.” It’s about investing in education. Unless Obama is willing to spend billions more on education, including higher education, instead of giving those billions to corrupt Wall St Bankers and the war industry, these are just hollow words.
I now know not to believe anything he says.

Do you have any idea how much money for education is in the Recovery and Reinvestment Plan? Let me put it this way – billions – approximately $91 billion dollars.
