ABC News' Z. Byron Wolfreports: It won’t be the new GOP it-man, Massachusetts Sen. Elect Scott Brown delivering the Republicans response to the State of the Union. But it will be a newly elected “change” Republican – and perhaps the only person in the party with a stronger chin line than Brown – Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell. McDonnell’s predecessor as Virginia governor, Tim Kaine, now chair of the DNC, gave the Democratic response to President George W. Bush's address in 2006. Top Congressional Republicans Rep. John Boehner and Sen. Mitch McConnell announced the decision today. “Gov. McDonnell understands that the American people are more interested in shrinking unemployment than expanding government. He is an impressive public servant and an excellent choice to offer Republican solutions for our country,” said McConnell in a paper statement.
