Cheney ‘A Complete Supporter’ of Obama Afghanistan Strategy
In an exclusive interview this morning on “This Week,” former Vice President Dick Cheney got behind President Barack Obama’s strategy in Afghanistan.
“I’m a complete supporter of what they are doing in Afghanistan. I think the President made the right decision to send troops into Afghanistan,” Cheney said. “I thought it took him a while to get there.”
Cheney also praised Gen. Stanley McChrystal: "Gen. McChrystal is one of the most able officers I know,” he said.

I don’t care if former VP Cheney says he’s going to vote for President Obama next time – who cares? Shame on you for giving this has-been another platform. What he thinks and says is not news.

“I thought it took him a while to get there.”
What in the world did the Bush administration do in 8 YEARS?
Nothing! Ignored it and pursued a war in Iraq that had NOTHING to do with 9/11

@Ann Hoffman, Evidently he must be, you are here. I don’t even like Cheney, nor do I like Palin, but is so funny to see how they get the Dems panties in a wad. If they don’t matter, then you don’t read/listen to the article and you don’t make a comment. After a while they see no one cares and they go away.

When are you guys going to interview the likes of Cheney aggressively? The ROLE of the press is address power and demand accountability. Maybe, you should import some interviewers from Britain.

On the wrong track? How do you think they kept you SAFE for 8 years. Geez … show some appreciation!

SHUT UP Cheney!!!

Cheney will support any war, any troop surge, any military solution to ensure that the industries that profit during wars benefit him. To him wars are not fought out of a national priority but for profit. If you tell him that brave men and women are dying during wars. His response is “So”

Cheney makes excellent points in this interview. One thing every reporter forgets is that Richard Reid plead “guilty” so he wasn’t really “tried” in a regular court. He was, however, sentenced there.
So comparisons to the Reid situation are not convincing.
And it’s silly anyway to say that one cannot criticize actions taken now by the Obama administration based upon any imagined mistakes by the Bush administration. They were the first to deal with this at this level; they had to learn. And what they did kept us safe for 7 years!

I don’t often watch ABC News; I didn’t like comments made by Jennings on 9/11 and it turned me against the network. This interview with Cheney was a good one; maybe we’ll see Joe Biden interviewed as closely and challenged the way VP Cheney was. If that occurred, I would feel the network was getting over what appeared to be extreme bias in the aftermath of 9/11.

I think the President made the right decision to send troops into Afghanistan,” Cheney said. “I thought it took him a while to get there.”
==============================
Considering Cheney and Bush never sent many there for seven years, that statement takes a lot of gall!
Robert Draper’s insider book, “Dead Certain”, says the Bush was “The Decider”, but he chose from a list of options provided by Cheney. After cabinet meetings, Cheney and Bush would meet alone so Cheney could explain to Bush the significance of things said at the meetings.

Ha, I wouldn’t doubt that Cheney lectured Bush on the significance of things. Ofcourse Cheney would support Obama in the Afghanistan Strategy, doesn’t he support anything involved in sending the troops out to protect this country.

Cheney says it took Obama a while to make a decision to send troops to Afghanistan. Wow, how long did it take Cheney and Bush to read intelligence estimate that Osama was planning to attack New York? Besides, was not Afghanistan the front on the war on terror? So, why did Cheney and Bush decide to invade to Iraq?

Boy, Cheney gets you boys/girls worked up! Funny to see. Problem is, Cheney probably has a 20-30+ IQ point advantage over Biden-who could play a typical village idiot without stepping out of character.

To give a former VP a platform to criticize a sitting admin about war policies when there are ongoing operations, is unprecedented.
Remember when GW Bush was POTUS and people were arrested for wearing anti-Bush T-Shirts?
GW Bush and the PNAC are responsible for the death of thousands of innocent Americans and Iraqi’s and Cheney should never be taken seriously by anyone, let alone given a platform on a major network to criticize.
This is a low for the media.

There is absolutely no pleasing liberals. Cheney agrees with the stance the president took on Afghanistan and you still criticize him (Cheney). You people are absolutely hysterical because you just want to hate, hate, hate and then point fingers at others for having the audacity to raise questions. What a bunch of lemmings.

Like Obama needs this fools approval. This man who got us into a war under false pretenses, who believes in waterboarding. It took Bush almost two years before he made a decision on the war when they asked for help and the equipment they sent was defective and the soldiers had to repair them. It took Bob Woodward to bring attention to the run down conditions of the veteran’s hospitals. Don’t any of you remember this? How can you forget this and the needless loss of lives for Cheney’s war? He has some nerve standing up there and condemning anyone. He has a lot to answer for and at first I agreed with Obama not to show many documents pertaining to his deeds but now I hope they all come out. They will eventually and lets see who has egg on their face then. This man is doing more to hurt our country with his negativity than anyone else. What an ego! I can’t even be angry with Bush because he was the puppet while Cheney was the puppeteer. What did Cheney do to correct the situation with the banks, the financial system and he was V.P. when the banks were failing as it was Bush who begged for the first bailout…and he was VP when there recession started…what did he do? How can he stand up there and try to make everyone think he made all the right decisions? Well, he didn’t. In fact the Gnp is up 5.8 which is the highest in seven years (those years he was in power).Obama is taking the fight to AlQuita and has addressed the needs of the soldiers. As for Biden…he has been there 14 times in the last year….how often did Cheney visit them? The soldiers like Biden because he talks to them not down to them and they are happy he comes as he makes them feel they are not forgotten. And let’s not forget the illegal wiretapping which will come to light some day also.

How long did it take Cheney and Bush to get a deferral so that they would not get drafted for the Veitnam war?
Cheney is a stock holder of Halliburton and a profiteer of war: dead American patriots/soldiers so that KBR, Balck Water and Halliburton stocks could go up.
Bush and Cheney knowing allowed these terrorists to kill Americans on 911, or they were just ill equiped to deal with foreing policy. Cheney had numerous warnings from the CIA and the FBI about the 911 hijackers, and he and Bush sat their and let their Saudi friends kill Ameericans.
Who is Cheney to question Obama on national security, when he and Bush allowed their Saudi friends to border luxury private jets on September 12, 2001 to leave the US, while Americans were prevented from flying?

Herewego: Hate is what is coming out of the republican party. As hannity said one week after his inaugural…”we will never work with him.” And so it goes….so let’s not talk hate. There are many in the tea parties that hate also…not all but some fanatics. I observed many signs with not so nice things on them…so when you talk of hate…look everywhere not only in the democratic party. By the way…I am an independent.

It takes a hypocrite to label liberals as “haters”, when they point out reality, while mindlessly defending every attack on Obama and the democratic positions -even though logic doesn’t support this republican talking point criticism.
