Landrieu says Republicans should ‘shut their mouth’
ABC News’ Z. Byron Wolf reports: Don’t mess with Mary Landrieu. The Democratic Senator from Louisiana has had about enough of people criticizing the clause she helped put into the Senate version of health care reform and she took to the Senate floor today, giving a fiery defense of special funding for Louisiana that Republicans have derisively nicknamed “the Louisiana Purchase” – implying the language was put in to buy Landrieu’s vote. Today on the Senate floor, Landrieu her naysayers to “keep their mouth shut.” She pointed out that Republicans in Louisiana, including Governor Bobby Jindal and a good number of Republican Congressmen, have all asked publicly for Louisiana to be given the extra money to meet its Medicaid commitments. Landrieu pledged to stay on the Senate floor for the rest to debate any Senator who thinks Louisiana shouldn’t get the money, which would help the state, still recovering from Hurricane Katrina, meet federal Medicaid obligations that don’t take Katrina into account. She promised to stay on the Senate floor the rest of the day in case Senators wanted to debate her on the provision. “If this isn’t the place to ask for it, where is the place, because I would like to go,” she said, arguing that the health reform bill was the most appropriate avenue for her measure.” Landrieu was emotional at times in defending herself and the provision. “I don’t need this job badly enough to throw the people of my state under a bus to save my reputation,” she said. Allegations of back-room dealings and unfair use of tax payer dollars helped sour the public on the bill and led to Scott Brown’s upset victory for Republicans in Massachusetts. And it is in large part because of Brown’s election that the health reform bill remains in peril – Democratic leaders can’t find a way forward in the new political climate where Democrats control fewer than 2/3 of the US Senate.

I can’t believe these thieves are still using Hurricane Katrina as a reason why they are ENTITLED to more tax payer money. The last I had heard Louisiana had already received so much money from the rest of us for Katrina that they could have built a new $300K home for every family in the state. If Mary Landrieu wasn’t willing to vote in favor of Obama’s unconstitutional health care bill before the “Louisiana Purchase” offering, but was willing to vote for it after being offered the money then she is guilty of taking a bribe!

A senator receives an unethical buyoff. Then whines when called on it…So who’s surprised?

Senator Landrieu there is a difference in asking for something and selling your soul(vote) for it. Just ask the streetwalkers on Bourbon Street, maybe they can explain the difference.

Hilarious that Mary’s daddy Moon Landrieu and a bunch of her cousins and Dem colleagues all the way back to Huey Long were leaching the engineering monies and lowering the quality control standards by giant sustained kickbacks that Army colonels could only complain about.
Then when a hurricane finally overtops the weakened levees from their forty-year peculation of kickbacks, the Dems get their house-maggot MSM to say it was the Republican president’s fault. The Dems are the most corrupt administration north of Haiti, which is now kidnapping [arresting] accused “kidnappers” who took kids whose parents wanted them to live a better life.
Louisiana is a sort of Haiti, as far as the Democratic Party is concerned.

Go on landrieu, shed us more crocodile tear!
The con-artists sure know how to wear their self-righteous audacity as a badge of honor in service to their thievery and lies!
This woman needs to SHUT HER BIG MOUTH and #### OFF until we get to November.
Indeed just kicking these rascals out of office is too good for them. They need to be kicked right back in the slammer for their bribery and fraud and graft and the keys thrown away.

The purchased Senator from Louisiana looks desperate. And sounds dumb. That’s probably why she allowed her vote to bought in the current climate in the first place.

Mary Landrieu, the world’s most expensive prostitute. By her own admission, she really doesn’t need this “job”, so I say let’s give her a well-earned pink slip so she can look for a real job like her constituents.

There may have been a better place for you to get help your elderly recipients in LA. You and Senator Reid tried to bury it in a health care so that others would pick up your share. It’s not fair to the rest of the country and it should be taken out of the bill. Then you can sell your soul another way!

So what do you think of Senator Bond holding up nominees because he wants defense spending for his state. Don’t act as if this is New…this is what Congress has been doing since there was a Congress…deals are made all the time. Now it’s backroom dealing. Get a life…and all of us will use our vote come November, because the Majority of the American people are Not stupid.

As a Louisiana resident,I,along with many of others, find Senator Landrieu’s tactics embarrassing. No one ever answers her phone or e-mail messages.Though her behavior is repulsive, she is not the first nor only of our PUBLIC EMPLOYEES who behave in this manner. It has been going on for years & will continue to so long as they feel they can get away with this. They have all, repubs, dems, even the pres, have forgotten that they work for us!We pay their salaries. We have to rally together to get rid of them in November! All of them not just dems, they have all lost their loyalties to WE THE PEOPLE.

Believe me, the people of Louisiana did not want this health care bill and look with disdain on Mary Landrieu. Her days as Louisiana senator are numbered.

Funny how when dems cant justify their actions and get caught lying, cheating etc their only response is to attack the victim or the acusers. no justification, no explination. they hide their actions in the darkness and when the light comes on, they scatter to the dark corners and hiss at you for daring to challenge them. We will NEVER shut up. you are a crook, you got caught, DEAL WITH IT B****

how much more baloney do these crooked politicians want us to eat? When will Katrina victims stop begging for more? With all the floods in other parts of the USA, none have gotten the help ($$$) that Louisiana has gotten! Dump Reid, Pelosi, Frank & Mary. Take Obama with you too.

The political landscape brought on by the liberal democrats resembles the cross between a union hall, the mafia and the school yard!! Obama, Reid, Pelosi and now Landrieu whining, LIEING and blaming everyone to try and once again “mind#$%%” the American people because we are too dumb to research and come to an educated and enlighted opinion of our own. This government seems to hate us the little people and I for want them to all go and we keep and elect only those who will LISTEN to the people and do what we want the way our founding fathers wanted. She is an embarrasment!!

Is there a whining test that all Dems have to take and pass before they take office? My lands, she sounds more like Obama every day. I’m in Louisiana and can vouch for her underhandedness, but hey, she got it honest. Looooong line of jailbird politicians in this state, some still trying to get out of jail! And Katrina victims will NEVER quit begging. Millions, if not billions, have been spent creating new ghettos and it’s never enough. Trust me, I see it every day. Bye-bye, Mary!

Landrieu is following the Obama playbook for dealing with controversy.
Make your critics the bad guys.
This is what’s the matter with Washington.
Only in that cesspool of excess and pseudo governance can a kickback not be a kickback..
And you wonder how the Tea Party Movement came into being?
Mary Landrieu needs to be chased out of office with a broom to her backside!

Was the huge board with the letter typed on it really necessary? Wonder how much it cost to produce that? Why couldn’t she have just read the original letter? Just another example of waste and abuse that proves our elected representatives (from both parties) don’t seem to recognize. They don’t even think about how to cut costs…

Landrier sure knows how to win friends and influence people. This crooked and corrupt woman exemplifies why the American people are so angry. She sold her vote to bribes like a common prostitute. She is sooooooo done next election and she knows it.

I saw Governor Jindal dodge the question on Fox and Friends this morning, when asked if he approved of, or encouraged a special deal for his state. I assume from his not answering he was ok with it. I’ve lost respect for him. It’s unconscionable that one state would be given special treatment over another, for a vote. Shame on them. Shut up Mary Landrieu, expecting other states to pay more for you, is selfish, and irresponsible, you need to be voted out.

She doesnt think selling her vote was wrong, even though she knew the majority of her voters were against this bill. Time to go home and find another line of work.

Dear Senator Landrieu, As a worthy successor to the corruption pedigree in Lousiana politcs I wish to congratulate you. You are simply following in the crooked politicians that your state as always revered. Please keep it up, because as you make the rest of the country loose their lunch, they will be taking the dems out the door. enjoy your one term. Bye Bye……

The Liberals esp. the Progressives are the most corrupt lot of people so far in local, state and national government. The Republicans on the other hand mostly roll over and play dead, or vote right along with the dems.
So what is going to change?
