ABC News’ Matt Loffman Reports: While greeting the "majority-in-waiting," Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., challenged conservatives to change the mindset of liberals they know.
Bachmann recounted the story of her son who was able to change the views of his roommate from a "San Francisco liberal" to a true conservative by speaking to him about his beliefs.
By persuading one person at a time, Bachmann believes that the change will be wide-spread and profound. She encouraged attendees to speak to people everywhere – including the Thanksgiving table.
The congresswoman, who comes from the "land of 10,000 liberals," believes a conservative transformation is necessary to stop what she calls the government takeover of healthcare and energy policy that is leading the United States down an "unsustainable path" with "serious long term damage to the economy and the well-being of our people."
"The only people with the power to change this very bad diagnosis is President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and Harry Reid," Bachmann said. "I wonder what the odds are in Vegas for that happening?"
Bachmann seemed confident that Republicans can regain control of congress in November.
"We've got the fever," Bachmann said.
And in a subtle jab at the 2008 Obama presidential campaign, she added, "We've got the hope. We're ready for the change."
