Obama’s Econ Chair: Biggest Stimulus Benefits Yet to Come
“In terms of the level of the things we care about, like employment and the unemployment rate, those effects are going to grow over time.” Christine Romer told me this morning on ‘GMA.’
But Romer does think the country’s economy is on the right path. “We certainly know the economy's growing,” she says “If you go back a year ago, reality was falling. And we learned it was growing. Right now, the employment numbers look basically stable.”
Romer is also sticking by her prediction of job creation by spring

Obama: 'Now Is the Time For Common Sense Action'
Romney Takes Aim at Conservatives
Dr. Romer is certainly an optimist. However, I don’t see how insuring 30 million more people with this health care reform will help the current financial problem.
Jobs have to come from the private sector. This stimulus is just putting a band-aid on the problem.
I’d like to hear more about creating jobs.

Dr. Romer is anoth puppet to Obama’s hitlist for the American workers. ABC news alread reported that with this plan, it would create 200 jobs naction wide in the wind energy, and 2,000 jobs in China, so tell us working/ maybe not Americans how this Romer even has a clue what the heck she is talking about? This adminastraction HAS NO Clue how to “create” private sector jobs, just more Government jobs, the highest since President Clintons Reign! How can These news reproters/host back up just the Deocrates, then ask why we all as a country can not be bias across the board between demcrates and Repuplicans?, well you are creating us to dislike your values!! so if want us to be across the boards, then we need people in the media to be the same, and GMA with George is not it!

Last October President Obama stated he wanted to give Social Security recipients another $250 in 2010 because Social Security is not giving COLA. Has Congress even talked about this or has the President asked Congress yet?

It is the fault of the the White House that the stimulus scorecared of at least 1.6 million jobs saved or created is the biggest secret in government. Even consertative economists now agree that it gave an important boost to the economy.

If America is turnung around that’s great!! But in the mean time I’m out of unemployment benefits. How about doing another extension until I get a job. It’s not for the lack of looking for one. But I need to survive here. I’ve been unemployed for 2 yrs now and it’s terrible. So help the people out until the economy turns around!!!

President Obama should set an example and only smoke electric cigarettes. His wife wouldn’t get mad at him and it is better for him and the environment.

The economy was losing 500,000 jobs per month when Obama took office.
GDP grew in the 3rd and 4th quarters, jobs are always lagging the numbers recovery in each recession. Those thinking about long-term recovery, know the enviroment will be a big winner in the conversion to biofuels & biopower — saw a cool site; Balkingpoints ; incredible satellite view of earth

I would like to see more jobs, even know government is somewhat limited in that category, except for infrastructure and some other areas. I’m sure if we had McCain and the republicans in charge we would have ran off the economic cliff by now. Especially his shaky erratic behavior during the initial bank failures of 2008 and which lead to Bush subsequently bailing them out with a bill with no transparency, and no oversight whatsoever. We need jobs, this is one of the worst economic crashes in 75 years. I think Obama’s doing a pretty good job, but that doesn’t put money in the bank for me.

At Rick Mcdaniel:
If loosing less jobs than before are so bad, and the Democrats are so incompetent then why is it that the Republicans haven’t come up with one single proposal for jobs? Why is that?? If the republicans are so full of ideas, where are they? Thant’s because they don’t have any. The haven’t came forward with one job proposal, all they do is talk trash and throw stones at the Democrats.

i would like to think that Mr.Obama
is doing what is best for the country, it seems to me that no matter what he does come up with someone wants to block it, at first i thought the medical insurance deal was just another scam on the people, no i am beginning to think it must be good because of all the figh the corporate greedy drug makers and medical providers are putting up, what we need is a president that is free of the power from goldman sux , take the power away from them and the rest of wall street and put it back in the whithouse ( minus polisi and reid and the other rats scurring about

Again, as a registered Dem, I am embarrassed by this. How dare she tells us that jobs will be here by spring. How dare she tell us that we were in the midst of depression and the economy as stablized, how dare she say the biggest part of the stimulus package is yet to come.

The Federal government has rarely created jobs for the American people with the exception of Federal jobs. What part of that fact is eluding people. Corporations and small businesses create jobs in this country…they are the ones we should be looking to for jobs. If they don’t do it then we have to create our own. I’m getting a little sick and tired of hearing people complain about the President not creating jobs. Guess what folks…that is not his job. Tell me one other President other than Roosevelt that created jobs. And even those jobs were temporary.
