The Presidential Planner

ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: President Obama will speak at a memorial service at the CIA Headquarters in Langley, Virginia for the CIA officers killed in Afghanistan at the end of last year. In the afternoon the President will  travel to Lanham, Maryland where he will visit a small business and meet with small business owners. The President will deliver remarks on job creation and small business initiatives "The President is proposing that Congress pass two temporary expansions of critical Small Business Administration (SBA) lending programs. These are both legislative proposals designed to help small businesses through what continues to be a difficult period in credit markets," a White House official says. The president will propose to expand SBA’s existing program to temporarily support refinancing for owner-occupied commercial real estate loans. The White House anticipates this proposal will help refinance up to $18.7 billion each year in commercial real estate that might otherwise be foreclosed and liquidated. Secondly, the president will propose to temporarily increase the cap on SBA Express loans from $350,000 to $1 million. Back at the White House in the afternoon, the President will meet with members of the Park View Little League baseball team of Chula Vista, California in the East Room to congratulate them on winning the 2009 Little League World Series.  As a massive snow storm heads towards Washington, D.C. Mr Obama has no public schedule past mid-afternoon. "We can handle it,” the president joked of the impending storm while at a fundraiser last night. -Sunlen Miller

“Beneath the headlines, the government reported the U.S. economy has lost 8.4 million jobs since the recession officially began in December 2007, a sharp upward revision from 7.2 million previously reported; that includes 930,000 jobs more than previously estimated in the 12 months ended March 2009.” – Yahoo Finance
Off by almost a million jobs? And the government is here to help us with our financial, job, health care, etc issues?

You do remember all the folks and comedians making fun of Bush’s speech patterns? Remember “strategery?” I’m sure you thought that was funny at the time. You can’t have such a thin skin about this stuff…it goes with the territory.

I think the comedians had a hard time ignoring Bush because it was verbal blunder after verbal blunder . . .
These are not comedians attacking the President – this is the Republican right with non-stop fear and smear campaign against the President – and the Democrats.
Coupled with the even more extremist elements – “angry minds that traffic in ‘heated exaggeration, suspiciousness, and conspiratorial fantasy,’ and that see ‘the fate of conspiracy in apocalyptic terms… always manning the barricades of civilization.”
