‘Top Line’ — ‘Demon Sheep’ and Tea Parties

ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: Carly Fiorina’s Web video attacking a rival in the GOP Senate primary in California is an instant classic — and not in the way Fiorina’s campaign would have liked. It’s quickly become known as the “demon sheep” ad, and it ranks as one of the stranger attack ads of all time. Surely it’s the first of the genre to feature a man in a sheep suit with glowing red eyes, with voice-over by veteran character actor Robert Davi (better known, perhaps, as one of the bad guys in “The Goonies,” and as a Bond villain in “License to Kill”). “Sometimes when you throw stuff at the wall, not only doesn’t it stick but it comes back at you and bounces off and hits you back in the forehead,” Politico’s Jonathan Martin told us on ABC’s “Top Line” today. We also previewed this weekend’s Tea Party convention in Nashville. Check out Jonathan’s piece on it HERE. You can watch the full “Top Line” segment with Jonathan Martin HERE.
