ABC News' Christina Capatides reports:
If you frequent the photo galleries on www.whitehouse.gov, you are probably used to seeing titles, like “State of the Union” and “Bipartisan Health Care Meeting.” You are also probably accustomed to experiencing the U.S. Government through the daily events of the President, the Congress and the First Lady. Well, beginning this week, Americans can also view 1600 Pennsylvania Ave through the eyes of the Obamas young Portuguese Water Dog.
On Thursday morning, the White House tweeted , “New Bo photo gallery w/ never before seen shots of everyone’s favorite first pet http://bit.ly/blUvBo;” an announcement which fueled the delight of animal lovers across the nation.
The twitter nation, in particular, echoed this excitement. One twitter user by the name of 0nett wrote, “New pictures of Bo! Thanks White House, Obama!” Another twitter user, edjanemapsobama, tweeted a link to the new Bo photo gallery and the words "Good boy Bo Obama, so cute!”
The White House’s newest online photo gallery features a slideshow of 8 photos of the first pet and, consequently, offers a fun new perspective on both the Obama Administration and the daily happenings within Washington.
In photo 3 of 8, for example, one can experience the “snowpocalypse” which struck the nation’s capital this winter along with Bo, who is seen playing “in the blowing snow on the South Lawn of the White House” on February 10, 2010.
Or, in photo 6 of 8, one can view the Oval Office through the eyes of the first pet, who is seen lounging in its doorway on September 14, 2009.
Bo’s daily activities may only consist of exercise, eating, mischief (like chewing on things he shouldn’t be) and just plain old lying around. But, he rubs elbows with persons of interest and graces some pretty impressive locales. In fact, in the span of just 8 photos, Bo takes us on a tour of the South Lawn, the Rose Garden, the Palm Room, the South Portico, the Blue Room, the Oval Office and the White House Driveway. There are certainly worse places to be just plain old lying around.
