Dowd on Palin: Not Ready to Run in 2012?

That after word that the former Alaskan Governor is teaming up with producers from “Survivor” and “The Apprentice” to develop her own reality television show.  “It diminishes her status as a candidate.” Dowd told me, “All of it points in a direction away from a Presidential campaign.”

How can she lose her credibility if she never had any!

She didnt finish her term as Governor. Why do we want a quitter in Washington. Here is another reason why you should join the Movement to FIRE WASHINGTON, NO MORE CAREER POLITICIANS to be elected ever again. Lets take back Washington and get rid of all the DEMOCRAT and REPUBLICIAN INCUMBENTS. This is our chance to take back Amnerica from the POWER BASE IN WASHINGTON.

Palin’s more suited to selling Avon than she’ll ever be to Washington politics.

Typical BabyDoll! Make that MONEY honey!!!! Good for you, I say! I have now gained a bit more respect for our lamb. Clearly, she has come out of the land of delusion and realized that a Presidential bid might not be for her. Therefore why not increase the coffers? Not a bad decision Sarah! Strike while the iron is hot!!! Yet embarking upon such a project (although monetarily FABULOUS) all but kills her Presidential ambitions. I betcha the reality show would be one the highest rated programs ever!

I’ve been writting for months…that this woman is “bilking” the “not so bright” supporters to merely pad her bank account while she speak “fear and hate”. Sarah has learned one thing…that ignorance is based on “fear”, and she can capitalize on it. The “not so bright” supporters thought she was a “bit brighter” than them and Sarah ran all the way to the bank. Sarah also knew that she isn’t the brightest bulb on the lamp and opted out for a Reality Show….she’s a User!!!

I agree, fire all members of the Incumbent Party (IP) in DC. R’s and D’s are drafted into the IP after election and bow to their default corporate and special interest re-election sponsors once inside the beltway. Americans take a back seat to the insidious corruption rampant for decades, destroying my government and my country. Now corporations are people, NOT. Re-member in November.

It amazes me that a nobody can come from nowhere and be lifted up by a bunch of crazies and these same crazies make her a millionaire in two short years! The twist is that she cares nothing for the crazies (except their money, of course!) Now she’s set to make more money off you! Your stars are aligned, Barbie. Milk them for all they have!!

Posted by: Bernie | March 5, 2010, 9:19 am 9:19 am

She really lost her chance at higher offie when she left her office without finishing her term.
If she wants to do a reality show thats another avenue of finanical support for herself, not much else.
Would I watch it? No. I don’t care for reality TV.

Its not going to take 500 years to reach national idiocy as depicted in the movie “Idiocracy”. Already we have a national political figure (Palin) who will be a part of junk television, speculated to move on to a presidential run. John McCain may go down as the most destructive presidential candidate ever by introducing the gold-digger Palin to America.

Posted by: Rick | March 5, 2010, 10:05 am 10:05 am

Liberals aren’t the least bit worried about her political aspirations, because she doesn’t have any. The thing the liberals worry about is the dangerous gun toting people who actually believe her self serving rhetoric.

A reality show about Palin and her family? I think not. NOTHING about Sarah Palin (or her supporters) can be twisted enough to remotely resemble reality.

Maureen Dowd is the one who diminishes her own status as a professional journalist by her continuing snobby, condescending and foolish attacks on a woman whose integrity and class far outshine whatever shreds of credibility Ms. Dowd has remaining to her!

Posted by: Jim Cunningham | March 5, 2010, 10:11 am 10:11 am

STOP LYING ABC. This is not a reality show. This is what it is:
Burnett, one of TV’s busiest producers best known for his “Survivor” series on CBS, said he approached the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate with the idea. It will be shot in the style of Discovery’s “Planet Earth” show, feasting on the natural beauty of the state where Palin was governor.
What it’s not is a reality show following her around, getting up in the morning or her family and all the salacious stuff,” he said.
So, in Palin’s words, STOP MAKING THINGS UP.

Palin has 100 times more executive experience then our current socialist president, she just didn’t have the ridiculous adoration of the left wing media to protect/endorse her as he did.
It’s just too bad that so many Americans know absolutely nothing about the people they elect, and they simply believe what the “main stream media” tells them.
Just remember that the same people who are constantly telling us how dumb and unqualified Palin is are the same band of idiots who also told us all last year how brilliant, transparent, earth shattering, and non-partisan obama is.
When in reality, obama is nothing other the the brain child of chicago’s corrupt political system, which he was so deeply entrenched with that without the media’s protection he would have never made even made it past the primaries. Obama has more criminal friends then al capone, and most of the obamabots have never even heard of them.

“Palin has 100 times more executive experience then our current socialist president…”
Just because you have “experience” doesn’t mean you have brains. Just because you have brains does not mean you can govern well. As for Palin the results are in. As for Obama, it still remains to be seen.

Posted by: Mytakeonthis61 | March 5, 2010, 10:37 am 10:37 am

Jim
Dowd is a typical elitist “feminist” in that she despises conservative women.
All of the liberal iconic women like Pelosi (father was a congressmen and she married a millionaire who helped launch her political career), huffington (born wealthy and then married an even richer congressmen who paid for her website), clinton (she rode her husband’s stained coat tails all the way to her senate seat), teresa heinz and caroline kennedy all got to where they are BECAUSE OF WEALTHY/POWERFUL MEN AROUND THEM- reeeealllll independent!
Palin, however, was born dirt poor, put herself through college and married a professional fisherman. She became mayor, oil and gas regulator, governor, VP candidate all on her own, but the media assures that that the liberal women i mentioned are brilliant and Palin is the idiot. When will Americans actually wake up????

Posted by: Dave | March 5, 2010, 10:37 am 10:37 am

I agree, it IS time to get the career politicians, and those who’ve been bought and paid for by special interest groups, out of Washington.
But that would mean that Americans would actually have to do their homework about candidates, and what they stood for, prior to the elections. Candidates wouldn’t have millions of dollars to fund their campaign.
It does no good to vote out an incumbent if you’re just going to replace him with another corporate/special interest puppet. And frankly, I question whether most Americans are willing to spend the time it takes to actually check out who is financing “their” candidate’s campaign.
For example: if anybody actually still thinks Mrs. Sarah Palin is even remotely qualified to lead this country, they aren’t willing to look past what “the money” wants them to see.

Posted by: JaylahPriest | March 5, 2010, 10:43 am 10:43 am

what’s remarkable, is that the polls show, she is the GOP frontrunner….! odd behavior from a Presidential hopeful…
I wonder what Michael Steele thinks of this, hot on the heels of the other embarrassing incident this week, where his team were leaked planning to run against Dems on a platform of “fear of Obama” and “socialism”…complete with racist posters of the POTUS.
Not a good week for the GOP, as healthcare reform gains steam towards passage.

mytakeonthis61
Why are you so convinced that obama is this genius that the media says he is? He was sent to the most expensive prep school in hawaii as a child, his name was BARRACK OBAMA, and his father was from kenya. Schools probably bribed him to go there because they love to be so “diverse”. Had his name been Mike Smith, he probably wouldn’t even have been given a second look.
Have you ever heard obama talk when his teleprompter malfunctions? He sounds like a 4 year old babbling “uuuhhh uummm uuuuummm uuuhhh”. Or when he said he had “been to all 57 states”? Or when he mispronounced corpsemen 4 times? Or when he had to use his beloved teleprompter to speak to 7th graders? Most Americans will never know about any of this because the media covers for him. Why can you not see that?
I won’t even start in on Biden, aka the dumbest person to ever make it to the white house (next to jimmy carter).

ABC obviously has no interest in reporting the facts (BIG surprise). Palin was on FoxNews last night setting the record straight about the rumors, yet ABC still reported the blatantly false rumors this morning, with no indication that she disputes their statements. This is typical of network news’ portrayal of Palin and other conservatives.

Posted by: Kristi | March 5, 2010, 10:59 am 10:59 am

Palin was not born dirt poor… her parents were employed by the local public school system. They never report unemployment or strife… they owned firearms and went out hunting big game often.
Dirt poor would be pawning firearms or using them to gather food, not trophy hunt. Dirt poor can’t send their kid to 2 different colleges in Hawaii.
I love how the folks who think this “Beauty Queen” is the best thing since sliced bread, then bash Obama fans as “zombies”.

Sarah Palin is the most qualified person to be President because she is smart, moral, decisive, experienced, proven, and decent. And if you where a real Conservative, you certainly would not want her to shut up. She is the most effective voice for conservative’s. Every tweet and face book commentary she writes commands national attention and continually puts the Obama Administration on guard. What other republican does that other than the former Vice President. And there is a difference from having celebrity, and have celebrity with a message and a higher purpose.

Psssst, here’s what really gets their goat: Sarah is the first real American feminist to become so famous and popular. Here-to-for, the N.O.W. type sluts and nuts have had all the media attention, now, we all remember when we see Palin, that American feminists, the real thing, are actually moral, and patriotic; not whining, man hating, glass ceilinged, America hating Leftists.

Moving to Paris? You will love it there! Lines as far as the eye can see in hospital waiting rooms to see a nurse, zero doctors in sight, but it’s all “free”!
Work weeks are 35 hours, with 2 hour lunch breaks, and riots in the streets whenever the government tries to reinstate the 40hr work week because the entitlement class expects more and more for less and less work. Prostitution rampant because everyone is so “open minded” there and the police are about as corrupt as they come.
But atleast you will be freeing yourself from the most prosperous, generous, powerful, nation in the history of mankind known as America. Good bye!

Posted by: Dave | March 5, 2010, 11:17 am 11:17 am

Jaylah: You’re exactly right. Most voters will rely on just one TV commercial, run as a political slur, to decide on who to vote for. For a very high percentage of Americans, informing themselves requires reading, and unfortunately most won’t exert enough energy to exercise their bodies, much less their brains by reading. Corporate owned media preys upon these individuals by spouting their propaganda on TV as it’s easy for these lazy Americans to watch TV.`

You are aware that Palin cleaned house of corrupt politicians when she became governor, right? She didn’t care if they were republican or democrat, she fired many and others even got jail sentences because of her unwillingness to cover for them. She sold the private jet, fired the private chef, and refused the governor’s car. In other words, she campaigned against political excesses and actually stuck to her word.
This is why both the republican and democrat establisments hated her there, and the people loved her (90% approval rating when mccain picked her).
Conversely, obama crawled out the most politically corrupt city in America, without ever speaking out against the corruption, and you are okay with this?
He used the corruption and slimebags like rev racist, bill ayers, tony rezko, rashid khalidi, louie farrakhan to get ahead.
As I have said before, if only 200 reporters landed in chicago instead of wasilla to investigate, America would not have the chicago socialist as president.

Obama’s weak leadership and no real experience is why today our country’s economy and foreign plocies are a disaster and Obama is running around the world apologzing for the United States. Governor Palin is more qualified then the 1st term U.S. Senator from Illinois who only won because he was black.

Posted by: JJ | March 5, 2010, 2:22 pm 2:22 pm

Sarah Palin accomplished pretty much all of the goals she set for herself when she ran for Governor of Alaska. She left the state in much better financial shape than she found it, with a steadier and more transparent income stream from oil and gas royalties, and nearly 10 billion dollars in a rainy-day fund. This alone is far more than the pathetic loser Obama can claim, before or after he was elected. He stinks of failure already.
Palin was such a threat to the Obama agenda that she was targeted for the most vicious Saul Alinsky style lawfare by George Soros and his minions. They tried to personally bankrupt her lower middle class family with baseless ethics complaints, ALL of which have now been dismissed. She made a shrewd move and I don’t think one bit less of her for resigning to carry on the battle against Obamaism by different methods.
Get ready to say “Madame President”. She is going to make your lives miserable for the next forty years.

He had ZERO experience at the executive level. Other then aligning himself with some of the worst people in chicago’s pay to play system and marching with ACORN, his credentials were pretty sad. Oh, he was also the most liberal senator per voting record last year- and the leftwwing media actually called him a moderate!
Liberal democrats always used race to divide people. They have always stood for the 4 S’s- slavery, secession, segregation, socialism.

In my opinion, Sarah Palin is proof that the Republican Party did not want to be in power when the mess they made had it’s effect on the country.
That is the reason the media showed George Bush walking away with his arm around John McCain and smiling. They had successfully made the Democrats the scapegoats. Now they have to deal with the fact that the democrats are DOING SOMETHING that is moving to fix the mess they inherited. This effort is fought by the very people that were greatly enriched by making the mess.
What a farce!! Like a trained flea, they want to look like they are fingting everything, but the goal is still to dump their mess on President Obama.
You can fool all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.

Obama didn’t even finish his first term as a US Senator and spent six unremarkable years in the Illinois senate. We may need a candidate with more experience and vision than Palin to rescue the nation in 2012. They both are not ready.

Van Jones is a quitter. Obama didn’t even finish his first term as a US Senator. Ask them.

Actually, being elected to a hgher office is not quitting your position. Palin turned her back on her constituents and walked away but feel free to spin either incident as you please but while you’re doing it understand that most of us realize you can spin stupidity and saying Obama didn’t finish his term etc etc is simply put……..STUPID!!!!

I am just going to love turning on my computer and going online the morning after the election in 2012 if Sarah Palin decides to run for the presidency and wins! All of you Palin haters will be acting like a bunch of spoiled bratty two year olds having tantrums because you didn’t get your way! You’ll be whining and crying and kicking and screaming. We Republicans, though, will be treating you the way you’ve been treating us since last November. We’ll be laughing and making fun of you and saying to you what you’ve been saying to us for the last seventeen months! Our turn is coming beginning with the 2010 elections this fall!

JimVgirl..some sound advice…I would definitely NOT hold my breath, if I were you, in anticipation of that “fantasy” coming true. It could be detrimental to your existence.

If you think Sarah is unqualified, you have to know that Obama is even less so.

The Alaska beauty queen can sure make that money by putting on the folksy born again act. Her believers will always follow her no matter what. Caribou Barbie is so good at spreading fear and lies. She’s truly narcissitic.

I love all the sexist comments on this blog. I thought this country was ready for a female President, even one who speaks with an accent.

CND FOX In case you haven’t heard, the health care reform bill that Obama is trying to force down our throats is in trouble. There are many even in his own democratic party that are fighting it. It’s very likely that the whole bill is going to be thrown out and they are going to start all over from scratch which will mean that there will be no health care reform bill passed this year. Obama is pushing the current bill though no matter what we say or think about it. He’s refusing to listen to anyone except those that agree with him. He’s demanding that the current bill be passed and placed on his desk by April. It’s not likely to happen! He promised health care reform, and we need health care reform, but the current bill is NOT the way to get it! However, if a health care reform bill hasn’t passed by the end of his term and if he hasn’t fixed the unemployment problem, which he’s done very little about, he won’t be re-elected! I remind you, too, that he promised to end the wars. He is ending the war in Iraq but he’s escalating the war in Afghanistan. That is not what he promised! There are many, many people who are not happy with the man they elected as president. The disappointment with him among the voters is growing more and more everyday. And another thing that you evidently haven’t heard. There is a very good chance that the democrats will lose control of either the senate or the house this fall because several people are retiring and a few people have died. Also some people are just projected not to win re-election.

JinVgirl…I will not knock your “eloquence”; however, you are eloquent in a very misinformed way. Time will tell if you or I are right. Again, if I were you, I would NOT hold my breath. I know what upsets people like you. It is CHANGE. And that is what this President is going to do. Change things for the better (meaning a better balanced playing field for the middle class). And the sad part is that you are probably in that same socioeconmic category as I am. But you are programmed to think against yourself – and you can’t or won’t see that.

So…….. it appears Barbie is comin out now sayin that she has crossed the border and received Canadian health care. Is this a possible “I was for it before I was against it??” The republican hypocrisy has no end!

We can all hope she gets a reality show that comes on late night so we don’t to watch or listen to her . Palin like Bill O’Reilly have a grandious personality and are totally into themselves . She could care less about Politics and is using the media to get where she wants to go as far as making money .You have to be smarter than a fifth grader to be presidnet . We have already gone through 8yrs of a presidency where the person in office was not very smart and the VP ran the WH . There are plenty of learned qualified democrats and repubs that can run for office in 8yrs. Just please , stop covering every word and move she makes . It makes her head bigger than it is already . she thought her fair looks would get into the WH , but the american people had other ideas.
