ABC News’ Dean Norland Reports: House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer disputed charges made by outgoing Rep. Eric Massa, D-N.Y., that he was forced out of Congress by Democratic leaders because of his opposition to the health care bill.

"That’s absurd.  That’s untrue," said Hoyer at his weekly gathering with Capitol Hill reporters.

Speaker Pelosi was also asked about Rep. Massa’s claims when she appeared before cameras with the prime minister of Greece, but she had already started making her way back to her office and ignored the question without a comment.

Rep. Hoyer’s comments match those made by White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs on ABC’s “Good Morning America earlier today when the president’s spokesman called Massa’s claims "silly and ridiculous."
