6 years ago I was paying $845 a mo family coverage for my employees (female Over 45) State law forbade allowing my company to group with other small biz for lower rates as it most likely does for her.

I’m afraid Obama is giving people false hope, as he did to get elected.
One thing is sure. By mandating insurance Obama has guaranteed millions of new customers for the insurance industry.
When Obama made that sleazy deal with Big Pharma he made his choice–and it wasn’t the people.

mograndpa
That’s awful.
It’s no wonder people are going bankrupt.
I pray ObamaCare can help you out and that you don’t have to wait 3-4 years.
The taxes will kick in immediately and that will potentially hurt families and small businesses.
It’s a no-win situation.
Good luck.

Canfield’s situation is sad and something should be done. This pitiful and shameful attempt to use this womans story to promote the flagrant lie that Obama-care would FIX her problem is ONE MORE reason to reject the democrats bloated, bureaucratic, tax and cost increasing plan.
Obama could not possibly care any less about this womans problem. The opportunistic Obama is simply setting up another unwitting prop.

Ohio wants jobs…..not health care.
Where are the jobs, Obama??????

Does anyone recall 44 or his dogwasher, Gibbs, ever say that by enacting the healthcare plan (that no one has seen) everyone will have better care or that money would be saved? Maybe in 2050 when the plan goes into effect?
So why aren’t these specific qs being asked?
There are reports that states like Kansas and Alabama, Hawaii, and North Carolina are delaying refunds for taxpayers who overpaid. And New York is delaying until April 1.
So we are supposed to believe that governments that cannot plan financially or handle money (or stop wasting money) are going to handle more of healthcare.
Right.

Taking one situation and using this lady to get his unwanted healtcare reform passed is just ridiculous! Sort of like watching squirrels cross the street in front of my house. One particular squirrel always stands on his back legs and looks both directions for traffic before crossing. The flat squirrels in the street remind me of Obama. He just does not look both ways at what the US citizens want. He wants to take care of his illegal alien friendsat our expense

Apparently the “time for talk” isn’t over and everthing hasn’t been said yet.
The gifted teleprompter reader is back on the trail again today pretending he’s not a part of Washington.

When your argument sucks, try guilting people with someone’s death. Hope and Change 2010!!!

After OCare passes I wonder how many overwhelmed doctors will just say “screw this” and retire.

All that’s missing is a backdrop with doctors in white jackets.
Obama, the master of props and gimmicks.

I pray this women can wait three years for OCare to kick in.
I bet Obama’s pals at Big Pharma/HC Industry see benefits first.
I think Obama is more concerned about generating money from the taxes that he is health care.

Michael Muskal at the Trib’s Swamp blog has a good post up about Obama on the road:
“There are two things that will substantially determine how long and how well you live. The first is the genes you inherit, and the second is the quality of healthcare you can afford.
The current debate over healthcare overhaul is at its heart a battle over how to pay for the medical system and what it will do to treat which Americans. But the fight is about more than policy…
In his recent speeches in Pennsylvania and Missouri and in Ohio today, President Obama is touting his healthcare plans, but he also is giving his clearest vision of how he now sees politics — and that has changed since he took office more than a year ago…”
He lists a few rules, but I particularly like…
2. Real life is more important than Washington and it exists outside the Beltway…
and
5) Doing right is more important than politics.
“I’ll be honest with you. I don’t know how passing health care will play politically, but I do know that it’s the right thing to do,’ Obama said.
Me, too. The Republicans seem to care more about windfall profits and power than real live human beings.

Oh someone in the audience fainted.
Looks like Obama is trying to get some of that campaign magic back. Back when people fainted at his rallies.
The NYT is trying to help too.
The have a picture of BO in front of a cross.
Will this crap ever end?

One big ego trip.
Obama, Pelosi, and Reid only care about their pictures in a history book.

The U.S. Government pays over 50% of all healthcare costs (I doubt this includes all of the people they support through private insurers).. why didn’t she get disability through existing programs.. why didn’t she get into a pilot program.. there are plenty of ways to get subsidized healthcare.
My relatives in Cali have access to childrens CHIP.. but they won’t even take their kids to sign up. Obama must offer a public option (I don’t like the idea) and make healthy people pay premiums.. and do it now.. otherwise, this bill won’t do diddly.

Without insurance now, how is she able to be in the hospital?……
She chose her house payment above her life?
I’m a little sarcastic, for sure, but I have lost loved ones to (breast)cancer. Medicare would make her liquidate all assets to pay if she were of age. So this woman’s life has been reduced to being a prop for Obama. More of the same to follow I’m sure.

I’ve seen people do their net worth drawn down by passing those assets to their relatives.. the government doesn’t know if you have any money.. other than the obvious..

Per Ezra Klein (WaPo):
“The Commonwealth Fund, in a very smart piece, tries to show this by tallying the savings if we’d instituted the Nixon, Carter and Clinton reforms and they’d worked to slow spending by the aforementioned 1.5 percentage points. That’s not, it should be noted, an unreasonable estimate. If anything, it’s conservative, as these plans included hard government controls on the rise of provider payments or insurance premiums. That’s a blunt stick to swing at the system, but it’s an effective one (Paul Ryan’s plan also caps spending, for any conservatives out there who’re skeptical of the merits).”
You can see the impact in the graph either at Ezra’s blog or the Commonwealth Fund blog (“The Costs of Failure: Economic Consequences of Failure to Enact Nixon, Carter, and Clinton Health Reforms”)

Fox had the temerity to doubt the President and actually ask the clinic where Natoma is being treated.
Turns out she ALREADY qualifies for aid and won’t lose the house.
What was it again that Rep Joe Wilson told the President during Obama’s health care speech in Congress? Lessee, starts with a ‘You’…..ends with…..
