Odierno: U.S. ‘On Track’ for Troop Withdrawal

After the first parliamentary elections in Iraq since 2005, US Commanding General Ray Odierno and Ambassador Chris Hill assured me this morning on ‘GMA’ that everything in that country moving toward bringing U.S. troop levels down to 50,000 by September of this year.   


 


According to General Odierno it would take a significant event to derail the progress they have made there.


 



“As Secretary Gates has said it would have to be something catastrophic I don’t see that happening now, I believe we’re on track I believe Iraqi security forces are on track to assume more and more control.”
