Pelosi: ‘We’ll Take Up the Bill When We Are Ready’
EmailABC News' Jonathan Karl reports: Behind closed doors today, White House health care advisor Nancy Ann DeParle gave a presentation to House Democrats on the president's health care proposal. Afterward, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke briefly to reporters, calling DeParle’s presentation “very productive” and saying, “we’re another step closer to voting on quality, affordable health care for everybody.” But … Pelosi made clear she’s not too keen on any deadlines set by the White House. “March 18th is a very interesting date,” Pelosi said, referring to the White House’s preferred deadline — the date President Obama leaves for a foreign trip. ”We will take up the bill when we are ready to take up the bill.” She said the new bill – which will change aspects of the Senate bill that are unacceptable to the House – is not complete and won’t be until the Congressional Budget Office has provided an official cost estimate. After that happens, the Speaker said, the House will need “at least one week” to consider the bill before a final vote.

Wow this lady cannot make up her mind. The news today is that there are not enough votes to pass a pill if they wanted to take one. Problem here is that the state run news is not reporting it. Like Patrick Kennedy said” The news media is incompetent in reporting accurate news accounts. Pelosi make the nation happy and one of the many dems resigning and resign. Today if possible.

I also read today that the transparency rules as apply to unions have been recinded by this administration. Must be more of their transparency. Like this so called health care full of pork and bribes created behind closed doors.

What worries me about the House Health Bill, scares me really, is that i counted over 50 instances (& then stopped counting) where it shows that everything relating to health care is to be placed in the hands of one individual, called the Commissioner. In other words, in the White House, the President.

I think her approach is constructive. People have been critical of the pesident for not playing a larger role. But legislation is done by Congress. pelosi’s leadership has been terrific.

anna then those who believe in Obama need to tell him to diplomaticly shut up. Obama is the one traveling the country pushing this bill. Obama is the one hitting cities who are broke to speak. Those cities have to pay millions and if not more millions for security that they steal from their local road and sidewalk budgets, school budgets and welfare budgets. So with Obama traveling the country pushing a health care bill that not even his own party per Pelosi knows what it contains makes it Obamas bill.

I read that an Education bill is being attached to the health care bill. Is there no end to what the dems takeover agenda is? Private industry and States rights are being conficated. I also read today that Obama is meeting with Schummer to address immigration reform this year. He must know he will lose his support in November and will push his agenda through with the help of the cult like followers, the dems in Congress.

From Pelosi’s press conference today, I could gather that part of what they are doing is eliminating the flagrantly unconstitutional provisions from the original bill, obstensibly to head off any court challenges in case it passes. Of course she didn’t use those words…

If this bill passes the dollar will plummet and the US AAA bond rating may be history. Not because of the trillions of cost but this administrations (obvious to the world)spending the future of our nation.
