DNC Selling Biden-Themed ‘BFD’ T-Shirt

Vice President Biden's infamous — yet accurate — remark to President Obama at the health care reform legislation bill-signing, picked up by microphone, is now available on an official Democratic Party T-shirt. The Democratic National Committee is selling shirts that say "Health Reform is a BFD," standing for "Big F-ing Deal," the judgment of the Vice President about the significance of the legislation.
The White House not only confirmed Biden’s comments but agreed. “And yes Mr. Vice President, you're right…,” White House press secretary Robert Gibbs tweeted. At a fundraiser in Baltimore, the VP recounted that he had not been taken to the woodshed for his admitted "faux pas." He said President Obama said, “You know what the best thing about yesterday was? Joe’s comment." Biden told the crowd that he told his boss, “If you thought it was so good, why didn’t you say it?” The shirts sell for $25 apiece. Smart. Funny. Accurate.
$20 is a better price.

Here’s an idea for a Biden inspired T shirt. A three letter word… J O B S

Keep it classy, DNC.

There was a time, not long ago, when politicians who dropped the f-bomb were severely chastised for it. Now, it’s something to be proud of.
How sad for America. Strictly no class.

Now we all know, and don’t have to wonder, that the Dems are totally pathetic, in terms of ethics, and standards of behavior.

“Mommy? What’s BFD stand for?”
“It stands for Big ####### Deal, little one. The Democrats want you to know this.”
Stay classy, O-bots.

This was a poorly chosen adjective.
It was far worse when VP Cheney told someone to ‘f’ off. That was ignorant in terms of ethics and standards of behavior. Mean spirited, ignorant and rude.
Cheney is a Republican.

I’ll wait for the November shirt. Now THAT will be a BFD!

Posted by: Dell | April 1, 2010, 11:59 am 11:59 am

If every one of the 72 Million registered Democrats bought one T-shirt for $69,454.50… we could pay off the 5 trillion in debt that Pres. Obama has added to the defecit in his first year alone. (The first $69,444.50 goes to pay his one-year of debt and the remaining $10.00 covers the cost of the T-shirt.)

After the “nightclub” revelations of this week you repubs have no cause to sneer at Biden, or the DNC. Health care BFD happens to capture the feelings of millions of Americans whos lives just started to improve in real ways. Perhaps you should save your “Stay classy” sarcasm for Cheney, who also uses the “F” word when it suits him, and for your own RNC leaders.

Yet one more reason conservatives want the RNC to replace Michael Steele as chairman. The guy is a tone-deaf inept manager.

Do some research into what a free-fall collapse of the economy (see Bush administration) does to deficits and budgets.

Yet another example of how the Republicans hypocritically attack others . . . speaking of ethics.

Nice try tierra, but the 5 trillion debt that Pres. Obama added in his first year (which isn’t counting the bills he has passed since which have added additional debt) wasn’t tarp, it was from HIS budget, HIS bills, and HIS socialistic policies. Contrary to your snide remarks I do my homework, and I understand economics. I just wish we had a President who could say the same.

HIS socialistic policies
Posted by: Shannon
yeah, yeah, yeah..
socialist, tyranny, end of the world, maoist, government take over of everything, no birth certificate, secret muslim, FEMA camps, indoctrinating children, death panels, hates israel, chavez loving,…etc … ad infinitum
nothing was wrong before 1/20/09
right?

This isn’t an issue of party politics. I think everyone is aware that the “F” word is considered as the crudest of cuss words, and one not many people want their kids to go around saying. I realize people are going to say and do things that aren’t appropriate, but you hope they’ll at least say “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that where kids could hear”. Instead, not only is there not an apology, their is an embrace of it. For the folks who find it amusing or “true”, I hope you’ll purchase one for each kid you have and let them wear it proudly to school. The principal couldn’t possibly send them home for it, after all, the Vice President of the US said it, and he, and the rest of Washington is so proud of it.
He has a brain the size of a pea.

Posted by: Shoe | April 1, 2010, 1:29 pm 1:29 pm

My post should say “there” is an embrace of it, not “their”. Bad grammar!!

How about a t-shirt:
Obama’s America: Land of the Free(loaders)

Good one Po’d… with the exception of “socialistic” the list of adjectives you provided is YOUR rant, not mine… nor has it ever been.
I stand by my statement, and Webster’s Dictionary would back me up. His policies have absolutely been socialistic.

Where would he be without them?

I’m no fan of this Admin or the DNC, but I gotta hand it to them on this one, it’s a pretty funny t-shirt and they’ve managed to make lemonade out of a big lemon.
And let’s face it, no matter if you love, hate, or find yourself somewhere in between on this bill, it was a huge BFD.

Money Money Money Money Money
The DNC needs money.
Obama needs spending money.
The Independents have gone bye bye.

Gotta hand it to the DNC taking cues from the Obama campaign and using these shorts to raise money.
I guess the right wingers are mad they can’t purchase a “Young Eagles visit The Voyuer” commemorative shirt.

There was no $5 trillion in debt added the first year – that’s a lie. If it isn’t, provide your source and date for same.
And yes, you should do some research into the effects of a major economic collapse (see Bush administration) on deficits and budgets – you seem to be completely ignorant of the collapse and its effects.

You oughta learn what a real dictatorship looks like – for instance Pinochet in Chile. Propped up by the CIA to overthrow by military coup a democratically elected government – and then slaughtered thousands or artists, poets, union members, students, etc . . . That was done under Nixon. You can find similar support for similar dictators under Reagan.
Gee, weren’t they both Republican presidents?
Interesting what a little study of history can reveal.
