FLOTUS Thanks US Trade Agency for Help on the Economy

From Sunlen Miller:

Visiting her 15th agency so far, First Lady Michelle Obama today paid a "thank you" visit to the US Trade Representative agency in Washington, D.C.

“Everybody talks about the President and how hard he works — and believe me, he does,” the First Lady said before agency staff today.  “People don’t realize that you all are making the same sacrifices, too; that you’re missing time with your families to get your job done, and you’re often doing it without any recognition whatsoever. So I just want to let you know how much this administration values everything that you do.”

While Mrs. Obama’s purpose behind the visit – like her other visits to agencies in the area – has largely been to thank the workers and to hear from agency staff.

On the same day that the March jobs numbers were released showing the highest monthly growth in three years, Mrs. Obama said today that the economy is starting to stabilize, but more work – like from the Trade agency – needs to be done.

“We are seeing some stabilization in the economy, but there are still a lot of people hurting out there, so the work that you do continues to be important,” she said.  “It’s about keeping the American Dream alive for hardworking folks in every corner of this country who depend on the work that you do, even if they don’t always realize it.”

A famous Chinese curse is “May you live in interesting times”. I am afraid interesting times are upon us. The mindless spending of this administration cannot continue.
Consider the words of Tytler: “A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury (health care for example), with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.”
Alas… the late great USA! I wonder what sort of dictatorship it will be… a left-wing dictatorship or a right-wing dictatorship? Maybe they are the same thing….?

Oh sure the President is responsible for the collapse of the U.S. economy under the last Republican president, and responsible for Bush doubling the national debt so American was in a good strong position for the economic collapse. Yeah, sure . ..

Surely you understand the economy went into free-fall collapse under the Republican president George Bush . .. or are you really that badly in denial?
Collapse of major banks and financial institutions, stock market crash, collapse of major auto companies, 700,000 people losing their jobs every month, foreclosure and bankruptcies through the roof . .. under Bush, not Obama.

1) the free-fall economic collapse under the Bush administration was stopped,
2) stock market up since Obama elected
3) GDP up since Obama was elected
4) collapse of banks and financial institutions halted
5) auto companies beginning to regain footing
6) job losses WAY down
And listen, with an economic collapse second only to the Great Depression, all of these are marked improvements . .. we’re not out of the woods yet.

The jobs that have been created have been government jobs that the taxpayers have been paying for!!

Posted by: JV | April 4, 2010, 1:59 am 1:59 am

Problem is they haven’t been paid for. None of it’s been paid for. US bond offerings may as well be announced in a cemetary. A small one. Half of GDP is phoney money.
Have those dealers ever been paid up after that cash for clunkers scam?
