Roundtable: RNC XXXpenses
Our powerhouse roundtable debated the significance of the RNC expense problems – mainly the billing of visits to a lesbian bondage nightclub by an RNC staffer. George Will had harsh words for RNC Chairman Michael Steele. “He has fundamentally misconstrued his job, which is to be the face and the ideological spokesman for the Republican Party,” he said. Meanwhile former Bush strategist Matthew Dowd criticized the party for sending mixed messages. “I think the problem is hypocrisy,” Dowd said on the This Week Roundtable. “It’s not the strip club and all that. It’s Republicans go out there and talk about fiscal responsibility and they talk about family values, and they have a party leader and party officials who go to a strip club.”

Yeah, but how come Charlie Rangle isn’t in jail ? Let’s concentrate on what’s important, including the breaking of the law.

We are not suspiciously silent. We simply do not approve of what the leadership of our party has done, so we won’t come in and defend those actions. We feel that Steele et al have let us down. That’s the difference between us “Republican right posters” and you Liberal left posters. We realize we all have feet of clay; however, we will NOT do as you libs do: circle the wagons around the wrong doers and make excuses for them. We won’t try to make their actions right by trying to convince others that it’s okay by pointing out something that “the other side” did was worse. That, tierra, is why the “Republican right posters” are so suspiciously silent. I see your posts continuously making excuses for your leaders’ liberal faux pas’, so I understand why you can’t fathom us not jumping to the defense of these indefensible actions. I hope you understand now…and hope you can do your best to keep your snide retorts to a minimum. Thanks, and Happy Easter.

Fool me once shame on me, can’t fool me again…this escapade got “exposed”….thank goodness for the internet and the 24 news cycle….However, to we really want to know all the information that is readily available at our fingertips?

This is not a reflection on the elephants nor is Rangle a reflection of the donkeys….these are individuals riding on a coat tail of insincere ideology….it’s high time we look at individuals instead of the gang they belong to.

It is people like Michael Steele and his cohorts that I will not send any money to the party at this time. He needs to step down along with all the other party goers, or we need a third party. Wake up! Either practice what you preach or get the hell off our porch.

Party doesn’t matter in this case, if he is guilty as charged, he should step down and not be circled by the party. Time to start holding all politicians and their parties responsible for wrong doing. ALL of them.

“Bush destroyed America and or, Reps are hateful racists.” Getting a little old libs? Can’t tell you how pleased I am that you leftists are earning a big F for failure in the area of “Enemy Identification.” Please keep this bull up until at least Nov 2.

When the Democrats do the same thing, the left wing news will ignore and bury the story. How big was the story last week about the huge DNC donor going to jail? My bet is that almost nobody saw it.

Does anyone remember exactly how fiscally responsible the Republicans were when they had all the power? Not to mention how utterly incompetent they were at getting anything done, which they are proud of since it reinforces their notion that “Government is bad”. Talk about self-fulfilling prophecies.
Anyhow, the real problem, or at least one of the big ones is the fiscal responsibility felt on BOTH sides is not for the well being of the country as much as it is for the well being of their own party and the amount of money they can raise – which by definition makes them more accountable to the people from whom they receive it. If you trust giant corporations, vote Republican. If you trust giant corporations, vote Democrat. Two wings flapping the same bird….

That race card BS doesn’t work very well anymore, most honest people don’t use that because we all know its a big fat LIE.

The democrats have been in controll of both the senate and the house since 2006 so where were at was caused by them not this President or the former. Presidents dont make laws Congress does, presidents can only support legislation or they do have veto power when they think something passed is bad.

Not true. The Republicans had control of the presidency and congress for basically 6 straight years. Six years to establish a strong, stable economy. Instead the economy was so weak it collapsed like a house of cards.

““He has fundamentally misconstrued his job, which is to be the face and the ideological spokesman for the Republican Party”
Huh?
I thought a chief complaint of Steele was that he was spending too much time on TV and giving interviews versus fundraising?

True Bush was President for eight years and he did not write a single law and the Democrates have been in controll of both houses since 2006, RECORDED HISTORY.

“True Bush was President for eight years and he did not write a single law and the Democrates have been in controll of both houses since 2006, RECORDED HISTORY.”
ROFLMAO!
So I guess Bush doesn’t deserve credit for “his” tax cuts or any other legislation he signed.
Such is the logic of the ignorant right winger.
BTW, the Democrats gained control of both houses of Congress in Jan of 2007 when they were sworn in.
That is actual recorded history.

To be ignorant must be bliss, since 2006 must to the intelligent person would mean after which would go to 2007 & 2008.

“To be ignorant must be bliss, since 2006 must to the intelligent person would mean after which would go to 2007 & 2008″
I realize you are ignorant but whether that is willful I am unsure.
So here’s the reality.
Congressional elections are held every 2 years in which the entire of House and 1 /3 of the Senate stands for re-election.
Such an election took place in Nov of 2006 in which the Democrats won at the ballot box gaining a majority in both chambers and upon their swearing-in on Jan 4th 2007, the Democrats took control of Congress.
Since you claim it was the Democrats’ fault running Congress that caused the economic collapse, can you point to the law or laws which caused the collapse?
Given your trouble with year elected versus year sworn in, I imagine this will be a fruitless request.

The reality is we should be celebrating ANY opportunities to rid ourselves of ANY of them. R or D. Instead of a defendathon.
Every one of them saw this coming. They said nothing, they did nothing. They just let it happen. To us. It didn’t happen to them.

Other Republicans should visit this club. Maybe then they wouldn’t be so uptight as to take their problems out on everyone else.
