President Obama this morning will host an Easter Prayer Breakfast in the East Room of the White House, drawing Christian leaders from across the nation for a breakfast of prayer and celebration of the holiday this week.
“The President will also highlight the important role that Christian organizations play in serving our country,” the White House says previewing the event.
Mr. Obama will be largely behind closed doors for the rest of the day – having his regular round of briefings and then having a pirate lunch with Vice President Biden in the Private Dining Room.
In the afternoon, the president will meet separately with senior advisors and Secretary of Defense Gates in the Oval Office.
