After receiving his regular rounds of morning briefings President Obama and the First Family will host the annual Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn of the White House.

Both the president and the First Lady will speak to the crowd – anticipated to be 30,000. The them this year — “Ready, Set, Go!” to highlight Michelle Obama’s national effort against childhood obesity, and includes sporting events, a “play with your food station” for kids to make their own food from the White House garden, and a yoga garden. As always, there will be the Easter egg hunt and the traditional Easter egg roll.

Sara Bareilles, Justin Bieber, the cast of the television show Glee, Yo Gabba Gabba, Sesame Street, and Little Beat, The #1 Chinchilla and DJ Willy Wow! will perform. Others – including author J.K. Rolwing, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Jonas. Billie Jean King, and Apolo Ohno will participate in the events with children.

In the afternoon, the President will throw out the first pitch on Opening Day at Nationals Park as the home team takes on the Philadelphia Phillies. The visit marks the first time the president, a Chicago White Sox fan, will attend a game at Nationals Park. The visit also marks the 100th year anniversary of the first time a US president threw an opening day pitch.
