After flying overnight, President Obama has just touched down in Prague, where he will sign the new START treaty with Russian President Medvedev.
Mr. Obama will first meet with President Klaus of the Czech Republic, hosting the signing. And then the three leaders – President Obama, President Klaus, and President Medvedev – will pose for the traditional “family photo.”
Mr. Obama and Medvedev will then meet privately and hold an expanded meeting with their staffs afterward. Following, the two leaders will formally sign the new nuclear arms treaty, START II.
After taking a few questions from press, the two leaders will attend a lunch hosted by President Klaus at the Prague castle. Mr. Obama is expected to deliver toast remarks.
In the evening the president will host a dinner at the Ambassador’s residence for Central and Eastern European head d state and government from Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
The president will spend the night in Prague.
