ABC News' Rick Klein reports: The Supreme Court vacancy gives President Obama the chance to expand his legacy into the judiciary. But in the more immediate term, it means a distraction from Democrats' agenda in a critical mid-term election year. For Republicans, it’s an opportunity to channel some of the conservative enthusiasm that’s been growing for months — with the omnipresent danger of overreaching in opposing an appointee. Our “Top Line” question of the day today: “Who has more at stake in a Supreme Court nomination fight — one that is unlikely to change the ideological balance of the court? Democrats or Republicans?  Responded @Kudzu35: “Ds, they have to replace a lib w/ lib n not have a flipper, must happn soon cuz of pos to lose Senate. Rs will force comprmise.” Said @SPIN7: “We shall find out. But if its a distraction from #HCR then its good for Dems. But only if they have a good nominee.” We talked about it on today’s “Top Line” with Christina Bellantoni of Talking Points Memo. Watch that portion of the program HERE.
