Coming up… A “This Week” EXCLUSIVE: Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy and Ranking Republican Jeff Sessions, Plus an Expanded Roundtable With George Will, Helene Cooper, Glenn Greenwald, Gregory Craig and Ed Gillespie

President Obama nominates Solicitor General, Elena Kagan for a seat on the Supreme Court and the Senate Judiciary Committee prepares for a confirmation fight.

In a “This Week” EXCLUSIVE, the powerful Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee Patrick Leahy and Ranking Republican Jeff Sessions face off on whether Kagan is the right choice for the highest court in the land. Do Democrats have the votes to confirm her in a highly charged partisan Senate? Will Kagan’s decision as dean of Harvard Law School to ban military recruiters make Republican votes tough to come by? Will her lack of judicial experience hurt her chances or be viewed as a plus?

The battle lines are being drawn – Leahy, Sessions, only on “This Week.”

Plus, our expanded
powerhouse roundtable:  George Will, Helene Cooper of the New York
Times, Glenn Greenwald of Salon.com, former Obama White House Counsel
Gregory Craig and Ed Gillespie, former counselor to President George W.
Bush will render their opinions of the Kagan nomination.  And it’s
mid-term primary season, but a tough anti-incumbent mood has Democrats
and Republicans fighting for their political survival.  Will an
anti-Washington wave bring an end to Sen. Arlen Specter’s long
political career?  And does Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s Washington
visit signal tensions with the U.S. have eased?  That plus all the
week’s politics, Sunday on “This Week.”

You won’t want to miss it.

Mr Greenwald,
You said that Americans are wondering how Kagan will respond to issues of gay rights and abortion. But there are many Americans who are sick and tired of the constant use and abuse of social issues to sway voters in our citizenry. How will she vote to end corporate welfare and tax evasion? Lexapro manufacturers are a great example. What could those billions do for our country? What are politicians and pundits willing to ask about that?
