The Kagan Pick
EmailThough he was still interviewing another possible candidate for the Supreme Court as recently as Friday, President Obama ultimately picked Solicitor General Elena Kagan because of his faith in her as a leader with both intellect and a reputation for consensus building.
He hopes she will be someone with the intellect to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Justice Antonin Scalia or Chief Justice John Roberts, and the diplomacy and persuasion to be able to sway some of the more moderate justices, such as Anthony Kennedy.
Most of the cases has argued in front of the high court as Solicitor General haven’t yet been announced. Of the two that have, she’s batting .500.
She lost the Citizens United case and won Salazar v. Buono.
Still pending: Free Enterprise Fund v. PCAOB; United States v. Comstock; Holder v. Humanitarian Law Project; and Robertson v. United States ex rel. Watson.
The president has known Kagan since the early 90s,when they were colleagues on the faculty of the University of Chicago law school. His views of her strengths began to be shaped there.

Another Obama inexperienced pick ,now for the court of the land.Its no wonder we are loosing faith in this country.Its a bunch of 60 hippies running this country,remember them ? They are all in the government now under this dictator.
