From Sunlen Miller:
This morning President Obama will address the annual meeting of the Business Council at the Park Hyatt hotel in Washington, D.C., the White House said.
"The President will address the administration’s ongoing efforts to spur job creation and the important role the business community plays in our efforts to rebuild the economy," the White House said. "The President will also discuss the urgent need to pass Wall Street reform and address core principles of reform that will protect consumers and put in place clear rules of the road to help prevent another crisis."
Last night President Obama hosted a private dinner for some members of the Business Council at the White House.
The council is made up of 150 active members, each of whom must be a chief executive officer of a leading private-sector business from commerce and industry.
Back at the White House after his speech, Obama will have a private lunch with Elie Wiesel, Holocaust survivor and Nobel Peace prize laureate, in the Private Dining Room.
Later in the afternoon, the President and the Vice President will meet with Secretary of Defense Gates in the Oval Office, for their private, weekly meeting.
