ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: The stars were out in force over the weekend in Washington — and by that we mean, of course, Austan Goolsbee and Scott Brown wore tuxedos and smiled for the cameras. Actually, we did catch up with Sen. Brown, R-Mass., on the red carpet before Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner — and he told us he drove his pickup truck to the Washington Hilton, and wanted (like everyone else present) to meet President Obama, for the first time in person. Then there are the Hollywood types: Kim Kardashian, Adrian Grenier, Ty Burrell, Omar Epps, Gloria Reuben, Judd Apatow, Leslie Mann, Bobby Flay, Rachael Ray, and Richard Schiff were all among the folks GQ’s Ana Marie Cox and I chatted with on the red carpet. And the Washington folks — Brown, RNC Chairman Michael Steele, Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, Education Secretary Arne Duncan, and White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs all answered the tough questions like what are you wearing, and who do you want to meet. We recapped Washington’s annual “nerd prom” on ABC’s “Top Line” today with Ana Marie Cox. (And jumping on our Twitter question about why the big night needs a comedian, when the president typically delivers the best comedy, find out why Olivier Knox of AFP was a little confused.) Watch some of our highlights from the red carpet HERE.
