This is EXACTLY why I keep asking the liberal posters to compare Obama to Obama. Not to Bush, not to Cheney, not even to Clinton. HE put himself up above everyone else with his soaring words and speeches. HE made the promises that got him selected (not elected). HE decided that he could solve all the problems of the country ‘boldly and swiftly’. And HE would do it all with transparency like we’ve never seen before.
Bush is gone. Cheney is gone. Clinton is gone. It’s now about Obama, and it’s time for him to live up to his own expectations. The comparisons are no longer necessary. YOU promised it, Mr. Obama. Now it’s time to prove it.

Makes me wonder what Obama’s campaign promises will be for 2012.

NYT says, “the visitors’ log that the White House releases as part of its pledge to be the ‘most transparent presidential administration…’”
Quite a bit of spin from the NYT there. As anyone can read above, the WH didn’t release the log because they wanted to be transparent. They released it only after a lawsuit made them. And then they only released “some” of the names, defeating the entire purpose.

I keep on picturing the episode of “The Simpsons” where Homer, in a fit of pique over a situation much of his own making, decides to run for head of the sanitation department. Running on a campaign of what is essentially “Hope and Change” Homer wins and the disgraced and hated incumbent is chased from office. After a few weeks of trying to institute a Socialist Workers’ Paradise where the government does everything for the people, Homer’s department is bankrupt and the town is a mess. All hail President Homer Simpson, he is doing a fine job of bankrupting and trashing the nation.

Does this administration really think we don’t know they’re meeting with lobbyists outside of the oval office? The American people as of this year have been paying more attention and fact checking every little thing they hear or see now that has to do with Washington. We are not stupid and we know that Obama has lied about almost everything he demeans. He secretly meets with all those corporations and Wall street personnel in private to make deals with them if they push his agenda on ruining this country. We need the democrats removed permanently in Nov and 2012. Reps have learned their lesson and the ONLY time our country has had a surplus of money is during Clinton’s stint when the congress was run by the REPUBLICANS and they are the ones who balanced the “chequebook,” not Clinton, but the dems always leave this part out.

I think we can all agree that Washington has been on a steady course into the laps of lobbyists for decades. The more power that Washington grabs the more that lobbyists for special interests will do anything and everything to cut themselves a slice of the pie in back room deals. The most we can hope for is limiting the control and money that government spends. Just because Capone is dead, doesn’t mean he can’t vote in Chicago.

For those who think President Obama is both a ‘fascist’ AND a socialist’here are the definition of these terms from Websters New World Dictionary.
Fascism, a system of government characterized by dictatorship, belligerent nationalism and racism, elite corporate/state militarism, state police enforced loyalty, corporate/state control of the press and other media, etc.
Socialism, a theory of the ownership and operation of the means of production and distribution by all members of society, with all members sharing in the work, resources and rewards of production.
