After returning from his two-day visit to Mississippi, Alabama and Florida on Tuesday, President Obama will address the nation from the Oval Office — the first time he's done so.

That the president has chosen the crisis in the Gulf of Mexico as the first time he uses the trappings of the Oval Office speaks volumes not only about the environmental and economic catastrophe caused by the oil spill, but about the political threat it potentially poses to the president.

Watch "Good Morning America" Monday morning for more on the trip and the speech.
