O'bama can give his Oval Office Address--it won't make any differance. His Presidency is in decline. It's just a matter of time before he's impeached. The sooner the better. O'bama and the Democrat's have done more to harm our country than any foreign enemy we have ever encountered.

Put on a sweater Obama. Please re-introduce another legislative non-action, totally lawerly response to a major ecological disaster. It would be fitting for your all talk, no action, government is the answer, damn the public routine. The momentum for your ouster in 2012 is building as a one-term flash in the pan phenomenon that everyone will wish to forget.

I don't know why you guys keep arguing back and forth about this issue.
There is no such thing as significant Man Made Global Warming.
You're being fed a bunch of Horse Droppings™ from the Social Activist in Chief and the Social Experiment In Action Committee's Science Division.
Time to turn the Brains on and start Thinking.

It should be noted that the for the poll about Federal responses during Katrina the media designated many more antagonists (FEMA, Gov. Blanco, Mayor Nagin, President Bush, Michael Brown, and even the citizens of New Orleans) than during the oil spill (BP & Obama). Therefore the blame would logically be spread out more amongst various players during Katrina.
What's interesting is that Bush promised after Katrina that the Federal Government would rebuild New Orleans to be even better than before. This has turned in to another of his lies. Still Obama has made a similar promise about the Gulf after the oil spill. I don't know how in either case you can make up for the killing of so many living things and make things better unless you plan to replace all the energy sources with alternative energy and reimburse every single business owner and employee negatively impacted by this.

And why now? Why is this week the "inflection point" of the crisis, as senior White House adviser David Axelrod has said?
The answer to these questions has already been stated in an earlier part of the article above...it's right here:
"With almost seven in ten Americans rating the federal response to the spill as negative -- a worse rating than that for the government's performance after Hurricane Katrina -- the president's political capital and his agenda are at risk."
As always. It's the politics.

A blast from the past...
”The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.”
–Joe Biden, on Barack Obama - 2007
LOL! Gee, Joe, ya think?

There is no evidence that recent warming trends were anything but normal and natural variations.None of James Hansen's predictions have come true. The tree ring data underlying the theory are not reliable nor reproducible.

"If the Earth's axis were change ever slow slightly one way or another, all life on the planet could be destroyed"
Nobody is claiming man made activity is effecting the rotation of the Earth tj; Nobody has been able to show that the Medieval Warming period was anything but a local event; and at the current estimates for the rate Greenland is melting it's considered unlikely that 2 inches dumped on the interior is significant. I'm inclined to agree with jhw on this one, arguing non-sequiturs may impress your right-wing friends but for us it becomes tiresome. You have not been able to suggest a reason why the issue of global warming is a completely objective one. Big polluters have a big financial stake in denying global warming is happening.
