From Sunlen Miller:
TORONTO — fter having to postpone his trip to Indonesia twice — due to health care reform and the crisis in the Gulf – President Obama assured Indonesian President Yudhoyono this morning that he’s confident he will make the trip.
“Because of the crisis that we’ve had in the Gulf, I’ve had to delay the trip,” Obama said. “But graciously, for a second time now, the president has re-extended the invitation, and I am confident that we are going to get there.”
The White House has not announced a date for the trip.
The two presidents met for a breakfast meeting as a pull aside before the more formal meetings today at the G-20 in Toronto.
“We’re having breakfast this morning because the friendship between Indonesia and the United States has always been strong, and it is our intention to continue to make it even stronger.”
