Must-Reads: Washington Abuzz
"Top Secret America": The story that’s been buzzing around Washington. I’ll speak to Washington Post reporter William Arkin on “GMA” this morning.
Biden said Democrats might "shock the heck out of everybody," but now members of his party acknowledge they could lose the Senate too.
Jobs, jobs, jobs: “Unemployment has become the greatest challenge of his 18-month presidency,”
More jobs, jobs, jobs: “The Obama administration has embraced more promising approaches to training focused on faster-growing areas like renewable energy and health care. But most money has been directed at the same sorts of programs that in past years have largely failed to steer laid-off workers toward new careers, say experts”

Which “monster”? Unemployment or the deficit?
The largest contribution to the deficit is loss of tax revenues after a decade of tax cuts and a job-eating recession since 2007. Reducing spending alone isn’t enough. If we want to cut the deficit, we need to build small business and family wage JOBS.

Obama destroyed his presidency, by failing to address the issue of jobs first and foremost.
Now he will be unable to meet the expectations of the public, in dealing with the depression. That will doom the Dems, in every way.

Rick McDaniel: May be! Now in truth, there isn’t much Obama can do. He has accomplished a heck lot in bringing back a healthy America. Now the recuperation may not be a few months for a problem that took decades in the making. BUT let me ask you what the alternative is. Bring back the GOP which presided over the worst economic record since another Republican–Hoover? Good luck with another TAX cut for the ubber rich and more deregulation. How did that work out for you (May be it did for you but not for America)?

What is this?
Biggest story on National Security in years – on the compromising of for-profit corporates with classified government/defense intelligence, & a bureaucratic monolith that no-one is overseeing in its entirety. This is major dysfunction at the very apex of government/congress oversight, not to mention the vast wastage of taxpayer money on needless duplication.
And what do we get? 4 comments that aren’t even on topic!
God help America, for the public certainly won’t.
