Must-Reads: The Long, Sad Goodbye
Tax bill very much alive. Geithner lays down the gauntlet.
Howie Kurtz takes on the "journolist" kerfuffle.

I totally agree, and I am concerned to see that many politicians nowadays end is some kind of implications, stepping aside would be the best thing to do..

Five of the last 7 topics devoted to the Shirley Sherrod story but still not a peep about the DOJ whisleblower J. Christian Adams and his allegations.
Race-neutral enforcement of the law is not a story, right? The problem is…how do you report on Sherrod without connecting the dots George? I mean, we were taught in elementary school to keep asking ‘why’ until you got to the bottom of the investigation.
Here’s an easy one…”WHY has the race issue been especially hot for the past month?”
Of course, any ‘journalist’ up to his ‘pay-grade’ would ask WHY Breitbart posted the video….which would lead to WHY the NAACP condemned the Tea Party…which would lead to WHY the Tea Party has been threatened by the NBPP…which would lead to the sworn testimony before the CCR of Bartle Bull and other witnesses of the voter intimidation in Philly in 2008…which is WHY J. Christian Adams put his career and reputation on the line to expose the double-standard.
I mean, we all despise double-standards, right George?
but there’s no story there. Speaking of putting one’s career and reputation on the line… with all this mythical JournoList talk… I can see how some silly conspiracy theorist could make a compelling case (fictional of course) that the MSM is a thinly veiled Obama propaganda machine who trumpets any silly thing that might make the Prez look good but buries legitimate stories that make the Prez look bad.
I know I know….that’s just crazy talk.
One month and counting, George.

Taxes ALWAYS rise under Democrats, because of all their “social” spending…..which always requires a shift to the GOP, to bring under control.
The Dems never learn though. They still do exactly the wrong things, every time.

Our only hope is getting rid of this Congress. Hopefully after the Nov. election you will see the stock market rise, business will start hiring and America will get back on it’s feet with the knowledge that all this administrations bills will either be repealed or not funded. What a wonderful day that will be.

Funny, I thought the long sad goodbye was about the impending lame duck status of the Obama administration.

Why the push by the dems for Charlie to resign? He’s denied the charges against him and certainly deserves a public hearing. A person so well respected by (D)’s AND (R)’s… a 40 year congressman and public servant… an asset to the (D) party who will likely never be defeated in his district… why the rush to judgement?
In America we are innocent until proven guilty, right? Doesn’t that apply to politicians as well?
God Bless you Charlie! Keep up the good fight! The VRWC is behind you!

Forget the “Long, Sad Goodbye” satire; what about the Wall Street Op Ed written by Senator Jim Webb (D-VA) concerning affirmative action programs? I bet if Sarah Palin, John McCain, or any republican member of congress had written that op ed, especially in the midst of the Shirley Sherrod episode, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, and CBS, The New York Times, Washington Post, and LA Times would be headlining the story, 24/7.
