President Obama Said Sec. Tom Vilsack ‘Jumped the Gun’ on Shirley Sherrod’s Ouster

President Obama said Secretary Tom Vilsack rushed to judgment when he dismissed Shirley Sherrod from the Department of Agriculture amid charges of racism. "He jumped the gun, partly because we now live in this media culture where something goes up on YouTube or a blog and everybody scrambles," Obama told consumer correspondent Elisabeth Leamy in an exclusive “GMA” interview. Tune into “GMA” at 7 a.m. ET to watch more of Elisabeth Leamy’s exclusive interview with President Obama on the consumer aspects of the financial reform legislation.  The president, who personally apologized to Sherrod earlier today, said he instructed his administration to learn from the circumstances surrounding her ouster. “I've told my team and I told my agencies that we have to make sure that we're focusing on doing the right thing instead of what looks to be politically necessary at that very moment.  We have to take our time and, and think these issues through,” Obama told Leamy.  “If there's a lesson to be drawn from this episode, it's that rather than us jumping to conclusions and pointing fingers at each other, we should all look inward and try to examine what's in our own hearts and, as a consequence, I think we will continue to make progress,” he said. This morning Sherrod told me she didn’t know if the president was “fully behind” her and wanted to speak to Obama to ensure his support before deciding whether to accept the position Vilsack offered her at the USDA. No word yet from Sherrod if she will take the new gig after talking to Obama. –George Stephanopoulos

Uh, yeah – first it wasn’t Obama that dealt with Blago then someone offered a federal appointment to a representative for a vote and it turned out to be Bill Clinton then the NASA director was told by the white house to work on relations with the muslim world and then he wasn’t and now Vilsack falls on his sword.
This Administration will throw EVERYBODY under the bus!

I sure hope she took the time to discuss the health care plan not being a mandate anymore, but a tax. Are you going to grill him about the administration fighting the lawsuits in court by calling them a tax? You have to ask the question are you lying now or were you lying then. He can’t have it both ways.

I am glad she got to speak with Obama. This is just way too much of a touchy subject and area and it will not be resolved until we address it; but I would add this is just one part of a larger strategy. It’s obvious. It is almost the same thing every time. The far-right has an agenda and they want Obama gone and the best way to do that is to bring up race

Barack Obama is the right wings worst nightmare. They were going to resort to their usual distortions, misrepresentations and outright lies no matter which Democrat was elected President but the fact that the first African American was elected President caused the right wing to go into panic mode and desperation. They have questioned where he was really born, questioned the allegiance to America of the first lady, called him a socialist, accused him of favoring Black Americans over White Americans, accused him of being a closet Moslem out to destroy America and Israel, and they do whatever they possibly can to turn the American people against him.
They disparage every contribution he has made, and let there be no doubt, whatever your political leanings may be, without the stimulus package the United States economy would have melted down and we would be in a deep Depression and more than twice the millions that are out of work now would be out of work today without the stimulus. Obama had a choice between huge deficits or saving the country from outright collapse and he chose the only wise course any true leader would.
Although the health care bill needs to be revised to enact more cost containment and to include more robust tort reform the fact remains that more than thirty million Americans will have medical insurance that never had it before. That alone is an achievement that has eluded every President for the past sixty years and should be lauded, not denigrated.
The financial reform package isn’t as strong as it should be but it is far better than anything we ever had before and it will help enormously to prevent more Wall Street barons from bankrupting our country while they abscond with the savings of every day workers.
Obama is a Black man and that alone has caused the right wing to go apocalyptic and predict the end of America because this Black man is in the White House. The right wing in America, and the far right whackos like Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, and Coulter are doing whatever they can to scare the bejusus out of every day men and women in America with their lies about Obama wreaking havoc on our country. They fail to acknowledge anything he has done that is bettering the lives of everyone. The war in Iraq is winding down, a war we never should have fought that has taken the lives of 5,000 soldiers while wounding more than 30,000. He is trying his best in Afghanistan, a country we ignored after 911 while putting all of our resources attacking Saddam Hussein who had no part in 911 nor did he have any weapons of mass destruction. He has restored the reputation of America as country that seeks multilateral solutions to the worlds ills rather than acting unilaterally like a bull in a china job the way Bush did.
The right wing in the Tea Party movement and the Republican Party will deny they are racists and that Obama’s race has anything to do with them working day and night to tear him down but like most of their agenda and their beliefs, it is one giant lie they will never publicly admit. It’s driving them crazy to have a Black man in the Oval Office and what they have yet to learn is that hatred and racism will not put people back to work, will not heal the sick, will not help the elderly and infirmed, nor will it restore America to be the light of nations it once was that Obama is working hard to see make happen again. Their deep seated racial antipathies towards Obama is what is hampering our recovery and our greatness as a nation, not anything Obama has done or has tried to do. Let the truth be told.

Too bad they don’t react to things like the Iranian nuclear program or the Taliban insurgency with the same urgency. We can kick a single working class American to the curb, but those foreigners seeking global tyranny and genocide … we have to think about that for awhile.

Posted by: JacqueBauer | July 22, 2010, 7:37 pm 7:37 pm

I don’t understand. Her comments are still racist, but she attempts to justify them as being too ignorant 24 years ago. And simply because she is sorry we are supposed to let it go??
For what she did, she should have been fired for 24 years ago. That was 20 years after Martin Luther King hoped that sons of slaves and sons of slave owners would live in brotherhood. Thirty years after Rosa Parks dared to sit with those that weren’t ‘her kind’. Did that not get covered in her school??
It wasn’t the 40′s or 50′s when she did that, when society and the government in some areas encouraged people to stay with ‘their kind’. Twenty-four years ago was 1986, we were all supposed to be enlightened by then.
Whatever……I don’t think very much of her. Just like I don’t think very much of anyone that thinks a certain of of a person simply because of the color of their skin. No matter how many years ago it was.

Tom Vilsack learned from the Master: Barrack Obama. Obama jumps the gun with his “shoot, aim, ready” philosophy. He equates ‘fast’ decisions with ‘intelligence’ and ‘smart’ decisions.
Every piece of major legislation that’s been passed will require both ‘rework’ and ‘development’: particularly the Health Care, Financial, and TARP legislation. And few bureaucrats, if any, have actually read the legislation.
Obama calls every piece of legislation ‘reform’, when in reality it’s ‘two steps forward . . . one step backwards’ because they haven’t thought things through.
Even in the Deepwater Horizon disaster, Obama chose to condemn BP ‘prior’ to a completed investigation and without the benefit of all the facts. Again, “shoot, aim, ready” has become his mantra. Just today, we learned that the House committee that’s investigating the Macondo disaster, has learned about audits by both BP and Transocean that indicate the malaise of Transocean, not BP. In fact, BP alerted Transocean of safety violations last year, and Transocean independent audit one month before tragedy clearly implicates Transocean.
Obama’s ‘sense of urgency’ is fine, as long as he and his administration are up to the task. Perhaps a little bit of collective experience in the ‘real world’ of the ‘free enterprise’ would have helped. It’s all to easy for politicians to be ‘expert’ Monday quarterbacks.

So first, y’all assumed that Obama was personally responsible for firing Sherrold. Vilsack repeatedly stated that HE, himself, did it and you didn’t believe that. Now you have proof positive that Obama had no part in her sacking and you STILL make something negative out of it. What is abundantly clear to me is that you all have your minds made up and no amount of evidence satisfies you. This means that should any of you EVER come up with something legitimate against Obama we will not HEAR you, having already dismissed your constant gripes. You’ve muted yourselves. Get used to being ignored.

It’s funny how people are willing to jump on Obama when his administration acted in good faith (wipe out racism in the administration) albeit it was unproven. But they defend the malicious and deceitful Breitbart and Fox News who took advantage of a black woman to promote their own malignant agenda. Breitbart has now been defined by his racist views. There is no question now about it.
As for all these people that claim to be taxpayers and it’s their agency. Obama pays taxes as well and paid more last year than many of you “conservatives” will in a life time.

You and the democratic party are the only ones who bring up skin color. IT’s NOT THE COLOR OF A PERSON’S SKIN THAT’S IN QUESTION, IT’S HIS POLICIES.
If we used your point to justify our side, we could say the democratic party is a anti-white racist party based on the democratic party taking every opportunity to blame Pres Bush just because he’s white or to tarnish the Tea Party because it seems to be composed of mostly white people.
Get over skin color and let’s debate policy, record, and results.

So Obama holds accountable the man who is directly responsible for her firing and that’s not okay – but it IS okay for you to blame HIM for every single little thing that goes wrong in this country. Can someone explain to me how it is that the POTUS is suddenly the ONLY person responsible for everything that happens? If you tripped on the curb today, did you blame Obama for the failing infrastructure in your own state? And you got hit in your car today because a street light was out – that’s his fault too, right? If he said “Nice sunny day today” would you gripe and moan because it’s overcast in your city? Betting you would.

Could not believe how poorly a seasoned reporter handled the interview. George S. continually allowed the “right” to dominate the conversation and give the speaker an even wider audience. He simply lost control and could not provide the audience with a balanced view. UN-BEEE-LIEV-ABLE
He blames Vilsack, when he was brief on the situation that day after she was let go AND APPROVED IT.
He blames the “media culture” for his and Vilsack’s inexcusable knee jerk reaction that affected the life and livelihood of another human being.
He takes no personal accountability for failing the most basic job of anyone in a high level position, let alone President of the United States – to NOT jump to unfounded conclusions without bothering to take a moment and find out the facts involved. Its downright scary to see this sort of behavior, repeatedly, in a man who holds so much power in his hands.
Failing to acknowledge his OWN rash decision, he admonishes those below him to behave better in the future.
I believe psychologists call it projection when one sees or calls out one’s own faults in another person, while failing to recognize it in themselves. Obama is, no question, the Finger-pointer-in-Chief, yet he goes on about how others shouldn’t point the finger.
VERY VERY SAD, and downright scary in a President of the USA & Commander in Chief.
Grow up Mr. President, learn to be a man and be accountable for your own mistakes, starting learning FROM your mistakes instead of serially repeating them, stop pointing the finger at everyone but yourself, and stop blaming everything on anyone but yourself. Start acting with at least a modicum of the dignity that the office of the President of the United States and all her citizen DESERVE.

Not to worry too much Tom, you have a lot of company under Obama’s bus. In fact, I’m surprised that it even can go forward there are so many people that have been thrown under it. It started with his ‘typical white woman grandmother’ and now you are the latest.
Me thinks that before long a few others will join you. Enjoy the ride.

Lets take a deep breath………
Sherrod – nice lady
Problem is the nice lady was not so nice 24 years ago. She’s an admitted reformed racist.
OK deep breath……….
What do we do with a nice lady who admitts she was a racist 24 years ago? She admitts she did at least one white family wrong?
Doesn’t matter how long the film is. She admitts she did at least one white farmer wrong as a public official 24 years ago. Its there for us all to see.
Should she be fired or procecuded?
If it were my call. (I’m a CEO)
She would be suspended for 30 days
and allowed to continue her career at the same level.
To offer her a promotion for admitting a most grevious offense is way out of bounds.
Nice lady – wish her the best but she has to pay a price for her mistake.

re: Mark Jeffery Koch | Jul 22, 2010 7:23:58 PM
““““““““
Mark, the stimulus has been widely acknowledged by economists, including Obama’s economists, and other non-partisan governmental research groups, as a FAILURE. It has not helped this recession, nor would things have been worse without it. It was packed with waste, pet projects, etc. It has, if anything, slowed the recovery as have many other Obama actions. Your claim that “more than twice the millions” out of work now would have been unemployed is ludicrous. Not even Obama or Biden have claimed anywhere near that.
ObamaCare will NOT give 30 million American’s who don’t have health insurance coverage. There aren’t that many AMERICANS without coverage, and something like 17 million who are without coverage earn more than the nation’s average salary and choose to go without coverage either because they are wealthy enough to pay for any health problems they encounter or they are young and healthy and rarely use the medical system. Look to examples from Mass., Hawaii, and a few other states, or overseas, and its pretty clear that this bill will significantly raise our premiums, reduce coverage, delay care – in other words, cause things to be far worse than they are now. The taxes from ObamaCare start next year, but the bulk of the coverage doesn’t even begin until 2014. Its a disgusting joke.
The financial reform package is grossly flawed. It utterly fails to address a couple of the main causes of the recession – it does NOTHING to fix Fannie Mae and Freddi Mac (re housing bubble, and over $200 Billion in bailouts to them so far). It also utterly fails to address the “too big to fail” issue. What does it do? NO ONE KNOWS. Even Chris Dodd said ‘we won’t know what it does until after it’s been implemented.” That’s begging for horrible unintended consequences and massive problems.
Obama’s skin color doesn’t have a blasted thing to do with it, and your race baiting isn’t appreciated. Its NOT about race, its about his POLICIES.
Contrary to your claims, Obama hasn’t bettered the life of much of anyone. By any metric, any actual DATA, almost any catagory you mention is far worse now than when he took office. That’s a result of his policies and this gross triumverate of Obama/Pelosi/Reid with large majorities in both House and Senate. There are no checks and balances at this point, its government run wild.
You need to open your eyes, learn a little history and economics, and pay attention to facts rather than wishes.

Posted by: Colleen Trujillo | July 22, 2010, 9:18 pm 9:18 pm

Mr. Mark Jeffrey Koch, it isn’t Obama’s skin color that riles the right, it’s the fact that he is vain, incompetent, and hopelessly inexperienced. Have you ever heard a president use the word “I” the way Obama does? Again, it’s competence not race that is the issue.

Posted by: sreggie | July 22, 2010, 9:18 pm 9:18 pm

I watched the video and the firing was completely justified. Shirley Sherrod is a RACIST. She said she made a referral for the white farmer to someone that was “his kind.” That is the racist language she uses TODAY. She needs to know that there is no “his kind” or “their kind.” We are all humans from the same kind. Get rid of this racist bureaucrat once and for all!

Um, no. The NAACP slandered the Tea Party as racist, using video from BEFORE the Tea Party even existed, and liberal plants, and edited video to grossly misrepresent a Tea Party member. They were forced to retract some of it.
Breitbart released the NAACP/Sherrod video as a DIRECT response to the NAACP slander, in order to show the racism within the NAACP itself. Watch the original video, and note the reaction of the crowd as Ms. Sherrod is telling how she discriminated against the white farmer.
The far right didn’t start this at all. It was the NAACP and the left/liberals, who have been using the race card left and right. This video was in direct response to some pretty heavy provocation, unfounded allegations and nastiness from the left.

Posted by: Who Wants to Know | July 22, 2010, 9:24 pm 9:24 pm

A Black racist is different than a White racist?
Let’s say that Sherrod was White and turned down a poor Black farmer because he was Black and claimed that she turned a new leaf before the new Birmingham White people’s council.

“The sad truth is that although the idiots on the right like Coulter, Beck and Limbaugh get all the publicity they do not have a monoply on hate speech, rhetoric and bigotry. Democrats need to look in the mirror. The left is no better than the right when it comes to bigotry and hatred.”
Remember that?
Just admit that Obama is not tyring to restore America to be the light of nations….he’s running us into the ground financially, and “let there be no doubt,” there is a scary future for us all if Obama’s progressive leadership continues unchecked.

That will change – dramatically – come January 2011 when the largest tax hikes in HISTORY hit the public. Obama’s primary campaign promise – to not increase taxes at all for the middle class – will go up in smoke and no one will be able to deny that he has betrayed us all.

Beck should be out of this story. Why? Because he didn’t comment about this fiasco until the day after. He reserved judgment until he had the full tape, which he recommended to everyone. Did you? I did. Beck said Sherrod should not have been fired. But my opinion is different. It’s not too comforting to have a woman with such anger in a position of power. She needs a good psychiatrist to work out the anger she has about white people. She hates because of her father’s killing. She canned FOX for no reason. They reported on her AFTER she was fired. They invited her on – she refused, including four tries by Beck. You lefties need to get your story straight.

I watched Ms. Sherrod’s speech and was touched by her honesty, courage, and spirituality. No government, edict, nor act of Congress can displace acts of kindness. Best of luck to you, Ms. Sherrod and here’s hoping you live a long and prosperous life!

Without bothering to check the facts, Obama and his appointee Vilsack acted stupidly (h/t Obama). These are the people with the finger on the button of the nation’s nuclear arsenal, and control of trillions of taxpayer dollars. We deserve FAR FAR better from civil servants, especially those in high level positions. Its crucial in our President, and he’s failed the test repeatedly now.
Sherrod was unfairly caught up in this and never should have been fired as she was. However, in her speech there were several current views she expressed which indicate serious problems such that she should not be in a position of this power – controlling over a billion taxpayer dollars annually.
*She corrects herself and says ‘well, it IS about black and white’ (bigotry/racism)
*She says, more than once I believe ‘its about who have versus those who don’t (class warfare)
*She says she ’sent him to ONE OF HIS OWN KIND, a WHITE lawyer’ (bigotry/racism)
*She advocates taking a federal job BECAUSE YOU CAN’T GET FIRED OR LAID OFF. This may be true, unfortunately, but why is someone in her position advocating this sort of mentality?? Pushing it as the sole reason to get a federal position? That and she said the salaries were excellent. These types of attitudes and the inability to fire poor performers are a huge part of what is wrong with our current government.
*When the NAACP audience cheered and clapped her for discriminating against the farmer, why didn’t she in any way indicate disapproval? Say anything like “no, now, just wait,” or a hand held up, ANYTHING??
*She says a black owned farm was going to be sold ‘because of cousins up north’ and ‘of course they had a white man all lined up to buy it’ (bigotry)
While some of the above may be slightly paraphrased, you can easily verify ALL of it by listening to the entire speech released by the NAACP.
So. She was unfairly fired, Obama and Vilsack had an uninformed knee jerk reaction that was grossly inappropriate for persons in their positions, and yet Sherrod still should not be in any position with that authority and budgetary control. She should NOT get her job back.
I wish there were some accountability for the actions by Obama and Vilsack in this, unfortunately I doubt they will face any real consequences.
Consider also her involvement in the Pigford case. It rasies all sorts of interesting questions. The American Thinker has background on the issue in a current article. Her group just got a settlement from Vilsack/Obama of $13 Million, plus she and her husband each individually got $150,000 for ‘pain and suffering’ and then very shortly after the settlement, she was appointed to this position. Was it a part of the settlement agreement?
Meanwhile, it appears that Vilsack and Obama have learned NOTHING from this and are doubling down on stupid (h/t Obama, re I don’t know all the facts but the police acted stupidly). Vilsack apologizes for not thinking before acting, yet he’s repeating exactly that, with Obama also – apparently they are offering Sherrod not her old job back, but one with MORE pay, MORE power, LARGER budget.
Insanity.

Leftist wackos, the most blantant being Keith Olbermann, have missed why Breitbart and Fox News posted this video of Shirley Sherrod. If you are willing to listen to the Sean Hannity interview of Breitbart – it was not to rake Shirley Sherrod over the coals. What Breitbar showed is not taken out of context. Brietbart was clearly demonstrating the racist NCAAP audience which was listening to her. This audience had applauded and approved of the racial thinking she was speaking. This was before she got to the point in her speech where she was sorry for those feelings. The NCAAP audience probably would not have hung around if they knew the end of her story. If you want to blame the right group for her being fired – blame the NCAAP. All of this is because of the false racist charges that the NCAAP has made against the Tea Party. Here Brietbart has offered $100K to anybody who can bring video evidence of racism at a Tea Party gathering. Yet racism is very clearly demonstrated by the audience at this NCAAP gathering. The left is so self decieved, and so mired in their lying that they cannot see the truth of the matter regarding this.

Add to the list that she has said anyone who opposes ObamaCare is only doing so because he’s a black president. Like, it couldn’t possibly be because we disagree with his policies, with the various provisions and massive cost increases entrained in ObamaCare, the increased power of the IRS in it, and so on? The ONLY reason the majority of the American people – and it is the majority who oppose Obamacare per multiple polls – could possibly oppose it is because he’s black.

I watch both Fox News and MSNBC in the evening, and I will tell you that it is MSNBC where I hear the racist comments.

You’re saying that there is no legitimate reason to oppose Obama? Try to read and really understand what the opposition is pointing out. All the stimulus did was put off reality for a few short months. Notice that its effect was wearing off? Obama’s logic is impeccably consistent – he does exactly the opposite of what’s needed. Deficit too high? Well, borrow more. Want businesses to invest, hire, and expand? Make the future unpredictable, raise their costs for energy, increase regulations, make it hard to get credit, take them over by decree, and, increase their taxes. Obama is a piece of work.
Educate yourself so you don’t have to retreat into calling your opposition “racists”. All that tells me is your argument’s weak and your brain is lazy.

Mr. Koch is rather ill and myopic. But then his comments are a great example of what is wrong with this country. All the lies and hatred spewed and made out like someone else is doing it.
The White House and the USDA jumped the gun. Ask yourself who decided to leak the video –had to be someone from the black KKK opps NAACP they want more accronyms. Ask yourself why the film started being leaked in earlier months and kept being pushed.
Shirley knew that the NAACP was trying to use the film for political reasons. She sent emails to her department saying so.
This woman has already sued the government once for feeling harrassed and a victim of oppression having to working in her job with poor blacks. Hmmmm. She was a victim then. and Now she is a victim again and claiming she will be suing even though she knows nothing of suing. Yeah right –she already won over 330K and kept her job. Next the woman wants a million or so.
And who does she villify? The only newstation that stated there should be an inquiry. Stupid is as stupid does. At first I thought Shirley was a victim. I believe this all is a well played bs concoction by the NAACP-KKK.
They are wanting to terrorize News agencies and whites and have found a way to do it.

I would like to correct several obvious mistakes in one of the previoous postings, beginning with:
“the first African American was elected President”
To begin with, there is no such thing as an African American.
You have the right to call yourself an American if you are a citizen.
You may well be an American of African descent.
If you insist on using African American to refer to/describe a person,
then any reference to any othe American must be qualified as Chinese America, German American,
Russian American, etc. If you insist that only Americans of African descent can have their country of historical origin referred to, you are a racist.
“They have questioned where he was really born”
A legitimate question which today remains unanswered. Apparently the writer is afraid of what the truth might show.
“questioned the allegiance to America of the first lady”
It is the words of the first lady that lead rational people to question her allegiance.
Note, the operative phrase above is ‘rational people’.
“called him a socialist”
How else would you describe the takeover of the auto companies and banks, the handing out of money in terms of extended unemployment insurance, the take over of the student loan business, or the distribution of money to the UAW for delivering votes?
“accused him of favoring Black Americans over White Americans”
What would you call his attack on a Connecticut police office, which led to the ‘Beer Summit’?
Why has he allowed Eric Holder not to prosecute The New Black Panther Party for obvious voter intimidation?
“accused him of being a closet Moslem out to destroy America and Israel”
Explain to me why he goes out of his way to curry favour with Muslim leaders.
Explain to me why he bows when greeting other heads of state or politicians.
Explain to me why he shows contempt for the Israelis.
“they do whatever they possibly can to turn the American people against him”
This is such a stupid comment it deserves a response to the apparent ATD writer.
The Republicans are no where near doing ‘whatever they possibly can’ here.
There is no need.
The President is his own worst enemy.
His ego causes a vacuum around him, which partiall explains Michelles’ gaffes.
He talks so much that people stop listening.
He spends so much time on TV that people stop listening.
He shows his ignorance of what the American Citizen wants by his actions;
- more spending
- more taxes, from fewer works
- less healthcare
- open borders
- appoints racists to government jobs (Van and Eric to name two)
Alas, I find that the first paragraph of the article being reviewed has worn me down.
If you who read my commentary after reading the original posting, you should reconsider if you are Americans.

Maybe things might improve a little bit if he came clean about his birth certificate. I feel for the man. He was a baby but honesty is the best policy. Has anyone seen the records where he changed his nae to his current one? Anyone that won’t even go by his correct name will cause concern from many people. Why hasn’t any doctor came forward about his birth or a hospital placed a sign out front saying he was born in that hospital. Opps, I think Kenya has that covered, never mind. I love how everyone blames Glenn Beck for “tricking” them into firing her… without him even playing the video. It was they who fired her, and they were in a hurry to do so not because they were “scared” of the media, but because they knew the full context and wanted to victimize her “because of FOX”. They used her with or without her consent, and now they are in damage control mode. She’ll be reimbursed.
This whole thing was a setup. Just another rushed smear job that backfired. Regardless, the fact is a woman speaking at an organization (one dedicated to advancing one race that is relentlessly attacking the Tea Party) said she used to be racist but is now just a Marxist. You can even hear the people in the audience approving of her racism before she elaborated on the story.
Black History Month, Black Entertainment Television, Black Biker Week, Black Business Initiative, Black Journal, National Association of Black SCUBA Divers, Simply Black, Black Comedy Festival, blah blah blah… I could go on all night.
It’s clear where the organized racism is these days, where the media is, and where the department of justice is thanks to their siding with the New Black Panthers who want to murder white men, women, children, and babies.
Barack Obama is a domestic terrorist, and MSNBC, CNN, Huffington, Media Matters and all the other compliant “media” outlets are domestic terror organizations. The fact that they jump all over this but completely ignore much more vital, factual information proves it beyond a shadow of a doubt.
When your family is dying in WWIII, remember who allowed it to happen. Remember who spent all the money, wore out the military, divided the population, and allowed our enemies to flourish.

Posted by: Ruler4You | July 23, 2010, 2:03 am 2:03 am

uh Mark… slow down and take a breath. There’s no way you can paint this as anything positive for the President. His administration jumped the gun on this one and while it’s fine for President Obama to wag his finger at Vilsack, there’s a pattern of snap racial judgements going on in his administration, including from him that are wrong and do nothing but roil up racial angst in this country. Should I make you a list? Major ones I could point to in the recent past are:
1) Obama called the Harvard police department stupid for arresting a black professor and insinuated that it was racially motivated, only to have to back down later when it was shown that the police used tremendous restraint in the situation
2) Attorney General Eric Holder gave a speech calling us cowards when it comes to race relations and talking about it. Never mind that we’ve now had a black president, a black attorney general and two black secretaries of state in the previous administration. Seems like only Eric Holder wants to think we’re still mired in the 60′s or 70′s.
3) The DOJ under Holder’s watch dropped the case against the Black Panthers who were intimidating voters at the polling places, even though they had it on tape and federal prosecutors recommended taking it to sentencing… still waiting on that one, where’s the investigation?
4) Sonia Sotomayor – the Supreme Court Wise Latina Justice that was nominated by President Obama, who repeatedly had said prior to her nomination that she as a wise latina can be a better justice than a white man.
The list just goes on and on… this president and his administration are healing nothing… they are part of the problem, not the solution, and maybe they should wake up and realize that America is much further along than they give credit when it comes to race relations. No, I don’t think we need any lectures about race from this president, when it comes to race and injecting race into the poltical arena, he’s doing plenty of it on his own. Good try Mark, but I’m not buying it.

Posted by: Steve Brown | July 23, 2010, 2:31 am 2:31 am

Dude, you cannot just swipe all conservatives and republicans or tea partiers, for that matter, as racist. When Bill Clinton was in office, the republicans made him look bad. When Bush was in office the democrats made him look bad. Now, Obama is in office and all of a sudden if you say you disagree with him then you are a racist. That is not right! Republicans ripped into Hillary care and stopped healthcare reform in the 90′s and guess what, they tried to rip Obamacare this past year, but it didn’t work. I personally disagree with almost everything Obama has done and it is not because he is black it is because I think he is taking the country in the wrong direction, just like I think nancy pelosi is too. If Obama was pro-life, and fiscally conservative I would have voted for him, but he is not. Stop talking about his color and start talking things he stands for and has done and if you agree or disagree

@sailordude, Some one is blind or in denial. Clinton brought up his Birthplace. As well as his religion. And he defines himself as a Marxist. Sure not on the campaign trail but in his books. Anyone with TiVo can prove him a lier. He’s told so many We can’t keep track without a database. And you forget the fact that she was fired before any media picked up the story. And the Video wasn’t made 24 years ago, It was Made This Summer. And sent to Breightbart by the NAACP. It was the Administration that framed the narrative and Fired Her. Setting the tone for the Media coverage to follow.

This is the worst President in modern history – even worse than the traitor Carter and that’s saying something. Obama is an immature, narcissistic, anti-American man who had no business running for President. He simply does not have the experience or qualities needed to lead this Nation. He can’t take responsibility for anything even though the word most often heard in his useless speeches is “I”. Obama is also the most divisive president ever – a race baiter of the highest order. But the people (other than blacks of course, who disproportionately feed off the government) have seen through his racist, socialist and anti-American policies. Only an idiot would support Obama or the socialist democrats now (other than the slackers, government employees, teachers unions, illegal immigrants and the like). We will take back this country. We must, or the world is doomed.

Obama didn’t know anything about the firing prior to its happening? Then why did Vilsack’s flunky tell Sherrod that the “White House” wanted her resignation, and not that The Secretary of Agriculture wanted her resignation?
I’ll admit that I voted for Obama, and that I didn’t really think this nation could endure another 4 years of right-wing idiocy. I’m still not ready to vote for some right-wing nut-job, and especially not one that couldn’t win 5 bucks on “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth-Grader” like the last one.
But I’ll confess that I can’t have any faith at all in a President that refuses to even take responsibility for his own mistakes.
Count me out next time, Mr. Obama. This was the last straw. You’ve lost me.

Posted by: JaylahPriest | July 23, 2010, 2:57 am 2:57 am

MJK,
I just deleted a more lengthy and reasonable response to your idiocy…point by point; however, you keep bringing up the fact that Obama is a black man. Why?
The stimulus didn’t work. It was a spending package. Obama promised an unemployment rate of no more than 8%, yet it still lingers just under 10. He now claims that this is ok because it could be 12 or 15 percent. Stupid.
Iraq war…
WMD or direct link to 911 are your claims. This tells me you are ignorant. What did Saddam use to kill the 100,000 Iraqis? You must be a huge fan of Hugo Chavez. Dolt. Do you think that the current conflicts are just about WMD?
The reaction to the current administration’s policies is not motivated by race. You indicating as much allows me to claim that you are a racist. You would rather have the entire nation submit to Obama’s will than register reasoned objection to socialist and anti-American policy.
I agree that Obama is an American and deserves his post through election. This does not mean that everything he and his administration does is above reproach. To suggest that I have no argument because he is a black man is racist. Be wary of the words you choose to use.
You claim racism for any disagreement with Obama policy. I don’t care what color the person is that tramples on the principles of our nation; that person deserves my derision.

If Obama’s administration jumps the gun about something, Obama also must take the blame. While the White house was busy trying to manipulate the truth in order to minimize the damage done in “The Firing” Beck’s staff researched the story and got it right!
Bravo! While Gibbs and his staff tried to spin the facts making Shirley look like a fool and ultimately the USDA hierarchy the goat……… Beck was busy airing the truth!
No wonder Gibbs got so upset….. his inept spin caught him right smack dabb in a lie…. the likes of which had him showing more backpeddling than Michael Jackson in a moonwalk!
Obama had it half right though….. His staff reacted to internet stories without getting the story straight. Yet he might be well advised to challenge his staff to be as quick getting to the TRUTH!

:::::::::::::::::
Carlos, why don’t you try a little REAL truth rather than such disingenuous claims? The Patriot Act was NOT passed in two days, and there was time for it to be not only read, but multiple changes and amendments were made to it before it passed. See below:
The Act itself came about after the September 11 terrorist attacks on New York City and the Pentagon. After these attacks, Congress immediately started work on several proposed antiterrorist bills, before the Justice Department finally drafted a bill called the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2001. This was introduced to the House as the Provide Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (PATRIOT) Act of 2001, and was later passed by the House as the Uniting and Strengthening America (USA) Act (H.R. 2975) on October 12.[4] It was then introduced into the Senate as the USA Act of 2002 (S. 1510) [5] where a number of amendments were proposed by Senator Russ Feingold,[6][7][8][8] all of which were passed. The final bill, the USA PATRIOT Act was introduced into the House on October 23 and incorporated H.R. 2975, S. 1510 and many of the provisions of H.R. 3004 (the Financial Anti-Terrorism Act).[9] It was vehemently opposed by only one Senator, Russ Feingold, who was the only Senator to vote against the bill. Senator Patrick Leahy also expressed some concerns.[10] However, many parts were seen as necessary by both detractors and supporters.[11][12][13] The final Act included a number of sunsets which were to expire on December 31, 2005.

Therefore: anyone who disagress with OBama = racist. See how easy that is?

Andrew Breitbart, Fox News, Vilsack and the NAACP acted on behalf of Obama’s aversion to the appearance of favoring Blacks in any way. Obama is ultimately responsible for this mess because that is the tone he set in his administration. Breitbart, Fox and their ilk knew this and gleefully set Obama up to behave in the knee-jerk way in which he did. And Obama fell for it hook, line & sinker. In one fell swoop, Breitbart & Fox News destroyed Sherrod’s livelihood & reputation. Then Fox ran to her defense while Obama’s team & the NAACP were about the business of making her the second coming of Satan. The evil genius of the right and the stupidity of the left who did not think it necessary to vet a Fox News report (Vilsack), & especially the NAACP at whose fundraiser Mrs. Sherrod was speaking were a perfect storm in this regard.

can you imagine what would happen if she had been a he and white! NOTHING, he would have been permanently fired! if a white guy told that story in front of a white convention, that would have been it, and that !!!! is the racist issue here, black is right, white is wrong. This situation is so fraught with racism it is pathetic, on many different levels, and by many different people, including obama and his people.

We take care of those folks, what’s wrong with a little dependency and group identity politics in exchange for votes and power retention? Inner city moms really don’t care about school choice, after all we’ll put them to work in government where no one gets fired. When do you suppose the Black Caucus will meet with Breitbart to collect the $100,000.00 reward that any of the hundreds of video cameras at the Health Care Bill signing must have captured anyone yelling racial epithets, the N word anything.Hey, CBC forget about all those video cameras that exposed no “N” word or epithets were yelled, find a Tawana Brawley already. Both sides will twist the facts anyway they need to in order to “prove” their point and the majority of Americans are finally becoming fed up with it. Of course moderates are considered to wishy-washy to run this country because they are too easily swayed by the real facts (not the left or right’s version of them).

Vince: “…apparently you wouldn’t know the truth if it hit you in the face. It’s not about RACE, it’s about POLICIES!! Obama is putting us deeper and deeper into debt which will be a huge burden on future generations.”
======================================
LOL… funny how it’s “Obama” who is putting us deeper and deeper in debt.
The fact is, we have been in a spiral of accumulating debt for about 10 years now, when we decided to fund two wars, Medicare Part D, and tax cuts for the upper 10% income brackets… all by borrowing.
SAMPLE FACT (go look up “Foreign Debt Holders History” at the Treasury.Gov webpage):
FACT #1: January 2001-Clinton leaves office, Bush takes office. Debt to China = $65 Billion
FACT # 2: January 2009-Bush leaves office. Debt to China = $745 Billion
FACT # 3: During the Bush years, because of the accumulating U.S. debt to foreign nations ($4.9 Trillion during the Bush years), more and more of tax revenue collected went to pay for interest on the national debt. By the time Bush left office (Fiscal Year 2008) we were paying 474 Billion in interest on the debt accumulated.
The federal government ONLY takes in approximately $2.5 Trillion in revenue. When almost 20% of that (474 Billion) is going to pay for interest on the debt, that means less revenue to run the other parts of the government… thus, an annual deficit… thus, greater and greater debt.
The “debt death spiral” we are currently in, DID NOT start with Obama. He’s trying to fix this problem. Yet one more mess from Bush that needs to be mopped up.

I assume your a lefty (kool-aide gulping) person by you comment. You make a lot of claims WITHOUT any PROOF. You constantly play the race card when it has NOTHING to do with race! I would refute most of your claims but I will not waste my time. It is near impossible to enlighten someone who refuses to hear the truth.

Posted by: Noel | July 23, 2010, 9:11 am 9:11 am

Mark J. K., you are a moron. The racists are the democratic party and their pawns the NAACP, Unions, Acorn and the complicit fourth estate (Media). I don’t care one bit what color Obummer is, he is a terrible President with a radical agenda that needs to go. I thought Bush was a RINO, does that make me a racist? If people of color disliked Bush for whatever reason, did that make them racist? What a lame argument. There are many minority individuals that affliate with the tea party or consider themselves conservative (google the blacksphere, Star Jones, Ken Blackwell, Thomas Sowell) are they racists, lol?
Blame, blame and blame some more…that is all this administration does. They blamed the GOP for not passing legislation when they didn’t need a single GOP vote in order to pass it, but somehow the GOP is the party of No, lol. They continue to blame Bush after 18 months in office; they blame Fox News; they blame Vilsack; they blame everyone but themselves…so much for the buck stops here.
He has saddled our kids and grandkids with an atrocious amount of debt (the failed “stimu-less”, the healthcare bill that now contains a tax (which Obummer swore wouldn’t happen…”HE LIED,” I guess Joe Wilson was right all along) and not a mandate, and a financial overhaul bill that didn’t include the worst offenders (Fannie & Freddie) also it contains more affirmative action hiring for the financial industry among other things that don’t belong in a financial bill.
The American tax-payers (and only 50% of us pay any income tax) are sick of footing bills for failed social welfare programs (name someone that has been lifted up by them and I will name 20 more that have been in the program a lifetime and now their kids are collecting checks).
Liberals need to stop throwing the race card at people that disagree with this progressive, ideologue President; because guess what, the more you use it as a weapon to shut down discourse the less meaningful it becomes. If you voted for him and continue to excuse him because of the color of his skin and not the content of his character, I guess that makes you the racist.

======================================
I guess you don’t understand how fillibusters work. It takes 60 votes to invoke cloture on a fillibuster.
Now, tell me Chriti… the current congress is the 111th congress. “Wiki” the 111th congress and tell me EXACTLY when the Democrats had 60 seats in the 111th congress…. and don’t go counting independant votes because CLEARLY, “Judas” Joe Lieberman is not on the Democrats side.
I dare you to find an answer to my question!

Posted by: GeorgieBushie | July 23, 2010, 9:29 am 9:29 am

Seriously, folks, is this a surprise? Any thinking human being in this country now recognizes that a vile, corrupt fraud who routinely throws friends and supporters under the bus, was elected President in Nov. 2008. That’s not the scariest issue. The most worrisome aspect of this is that such a large proportion of the American public closed their eyes to the obvious and severe character flaws of Obama that emerged in the lead up to the election, and to his total lack of qualifications and accomplishments, and elected him anyway. Only a sick, self-absorbed and superficial people would allow that to happen. Elections have consequences and now we’re seeing them.

Posted by: jimconch | July 23, 2010, 9:44 am 9:44 am

Thank you Mark Jeffery Koch for your post. You are absolutely correct – the GOP’s agenda is to continue to castigate President Obama because as long as they are making all that noise, the citizens of the U.S. may forget the GOP is who got us in the mess we are in today – and that includes being hated all over the world because of Bush policies. Even what is happening in the Gulf is because the Bush administration’s need to relax the rules in order to support their big oil partners.
However, what I don’t understand is why the “liberal spokespersons” are so inept at putting the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, and Coulter, who are blatant liars, in their respective corners for a “time out.” Where are the people who know and understand how far we’ve come recovering from the Bush years during President Obama’s short time in the White House and why aren’t they “over speaking” Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, and Coulter so maybe someone out there will start hearing the truth?
And, where are the bloggers who should be castigating that idiot who posted the doctored video about Mrs. Sherrod in the first place? He needs to be SUED – this man attempted to ruin the life of a wonderful woman and should be held accountable yet we make Pres. Obama the target. American is not that stupid. Yes, there were mistakes made in the administration but none were as mean spirited as posting this video in order to destroy a life.

Posted by: jellybean22 | July 23, 2010, 9:47 am 9:47 am

Obama has completely missed the point. There was no need here for the administration to touchy-feely “look inward” and “examine what’s in their own hearts.” All they had to do was look at the whole video which was posted the very next day. There was very little to “think through.” The point Sherrod was making was pretty obvious to anybody who took a few minutes to view the video. The same goes for the Skip Gates debacle. All Obama had to do was gather the facts before accusing Cambridge Police of “acting stupidly”. He has learned since then, though. That time he had noone to blame but himself. This time he has Vilsack as a fall guy.

Posted by: Meshugener | July 23, 2010, 10:04 am 10:04 am

Obama certainly has no room to talk! Who jumpted the gun on saying the Cambridge police officers acted stupidly? Give me a break. BTW, it seems to me that Obama, and the dems, are the ones always playing the race card. Add all the Asians, Latinos and Africans of color, and then tell me who the minority is? It’s time to tell the truth. Most conservatives don’t care about color/race. We want responsible government that stops the spending!

Posted by: MaggieLyn | July 23, 2010, 10:10 am 10:10 am

I am getting really, really tired of people like Mark Jeffery Koch accusing everyone who disagrees with the disastrous economic policies of this administration of being racist. I don’t care what color anyone is, nor do most people I know. Can the the left just not bring themselves to accept the fact that most people are against Pres. Obama’s agenda? He is the most far left President we have ever had and only 20% of the people in the U.S. consider themselves to be Liberal. That is why all the pushback.
In my opinion the true racists are the ones who are accusing others of being racists with absolutely no basis in fact.

You blather “poor Barach” everybody’s picking on him because he his black. Nothing could be further from the truth! Barach Obama refuses to acknowledge that we have a Constitution that requires our Federal Government to do certain things like provide for the Common Defense, but that same Constitution prohibits the Federal Government from doing most other things. Please, someone show me under the Constitution where the Federal Government has the right to take over the Health Care industry. Show me the Constitutional justification for taking over the Automobile industry. Show me where the Constitution allows the Federal Government to demand that all Americans must have health insurance. Don’t spend too much time searching for these references in our Constitution, because they are not in the Constitution. Obaman and his ilk are simply making a massisve power grab to try to maintain control of the Government in order to foster their socialist/communist agenda. Please Mark Jeffery Koch open your eyes and your mind, if you have one, and see the truth. Nothing the Obama administration has done has fostered economic recovery or freedom. On the contrary, his massive bailouts, and his take over of Health Care, the automobile industry and finance has and will delay and diminish any possible recovery of our economy. Please take at least a basic economics course so you do not sound so stupid when you open your mouth and begin speaking. The American Public, for the most part do not want more and bigger government, they want personal choice and the ability to spend the money they earn, the way they want to spend it.

I think there is still some misinformation reflected in some of these posts.
1) I understand Breitbart posted two clips at the same time, one of which clearly said she was talking about how she changed her viewpoint somewhat from what she felt 24 yrs ago. So anyone could have known that from the beginning. They weren’t doctored; they were just part of the speech. (Those clips must have come from someone who was in that NAACP meeting).
2) The NAACP apparently came out against what she said but it was at one of their sessions she made her comments and they had the complete tape. What was that all about?
3) She was asked to resign before O’Reilly’s show aired, so don’t blame Fox News. O’Reilly admitted he didn’t have the whole story at the time and apologized the next show. Although, he probably thought that based on what the NAACP said and the fact that she had been asked to resign that he had “the story”.
4) She did make current racist comments. She said that people who are against Obama’s health care plan are against black people. That is quite a statement all on its own.
5) I have heard many comments on MSNBC the last couple of nights accusing those on the right of being racist.
It isn’t the right that is playing the race card.

Oh yeah, Mark Koch, we’re scared to death of the idiot in the White House. What is really happening is the Dems are getting a taste of their own medicine and don’t like it. Why do you Dems always pull the race card? It’s getting so cliche.
Speaking of racism (and Obama talking about ‘not jumping to conclusions’), why hasn’t anything been mentioned about Obama’s great jump to conclusions over his buddy Skip Gates and the Cambridge PD?

You think the order to fire this woman didn’t come from the White House? Nothing happens in one day in Washington without the Big O giving an order. Everything else gets held up in committee. Makes you wonder who exactly leaked this video and who exactly put it together.
It’s possible the video was sent to the conservative news outlet by someone in this administration as a means to embarrass the conservative news (which they should have done their fact checking as well, they are equally culpable in this in every way.)
We know Obama and his FCC want to limit and control the internet, this is the perfect opening move in doing so. All they need to do now is convince people that the internet is a danger to true news so they can lock it down under government control while they slowly consolidate their hold over primary media sources such as television and print news (which they’ve been doing since before World War 2, so they’ve been at this a while.)
It’s time to do your fact checking like you’re supposed to Conservatives, otherwise this administration will continue to manipulate you and use you as examples of poor media restraint that justifies their takeover of the industry!

Why is always OK for black people to make racial remarks? If she was white
they would have fired her on the spot
and Al shapton, Jesse Jackson, the black panthers and every other idoit would be camping out in front of her house. I always heard what is good for the goose is good for the gander. So it seems now it does not apply when the goose is white and the gander is black !! Had the farmer been black, I guess they would have paid off his farm, gave him money to feed his animals and family and then sent them to college

Where’s the reporting about Obama’s comments this morning about savings plan interests rates? This morning on ABC he cited interest rates of 2-3% on savings accounts as he described efforts to instruct his daughters on money matters. His example was: 2-3 % and how much $ 100 would grow in six months.
I don’t know where he and his family bank, but our savings account is earning a paltry 0.6 % a year. Interest paid on savings held for 6 months would be an even more negligible 0.3 %.
Obama’s ignorance is reminiscent of HW Bush’scluelessness about milk prices back in 1992 that helped cost him reelection that year. Obama’s misinformation though is more critical than Bush’s in that millions of seniors have depended on the money that they derive from healthy interest rates. The dirty little secret about holding interest rates unrealistically low for stimulus purposes is that many others suffer.
Obama’s ignorance is scary!

Just like the Cambridge police, Vilsack (and whoever ordered him to fire her) acted stupidly.
But in this case he REALLY DID act stupidly. That video was not enough to fire Sherrod. It was enough to put her on administrative leave and launch an investigation into her past, and the the outcome of the investigation would have determined the action to take. Personally, I feel she would have been restored to her position.
And Mark Jeffery Koch, you are so full of it you are overflowing. To come up with your argument, you must have about the smallest mind possible and still be able to function as a human being. You and your other lefty sympathizers aren’t intelligent enough to determine the outcome of 0bama’s policies on the country, so you just fall back to your hateful accusations of racism. FYI, the right wing was against government-run healthcare long before 0bama was even a politician (ask Hillary about that), so there is strong evidence right their that your theories about race are wrong (but I don’t expect you to reflect on that fact).
And the only people who say the stimulus worked are partisan Democrats; every REAL economist says that it has been a major boondoggle to Democratic Party supporters only (see the latest report on the GM / Chrysler dealership closings, and the benefits received by various labor unions), and a major waste of tax money. That’s why the unemployment rate is still hovering near 10%, a year and a half after 0bama promised it wouldn’t go over 8% if the stimulus plan were passed.
I don’t expect you to sit and think “Hmm, maybe 0bama isn’t so great after all”, but maybe some of your friends who read these postings will laugh at how foolish you are.

I just read the post by Mark Jeffery Koch on July 22. This is a distorted view of reality.
The Tea Party Movement is NOT RACIST. I am a member. I do not consider race when I attend to get…READY…Smaller Government, Constitutional Government, Less Spending. That is it in a nutshell. I will even touch the third rail about the Hitler signs. They have Obama depicted as such because of his policies…meaning the man wants to be a dictator. Don’t believe me…Ask the board members of GM when the government nationalized GM/Chrysler. How about the Government dictating that every citizen “MUST” buy health insurance. Where is the freedom. So…the Hitler thing is not about race or Jewish people…it is about nationalizing everything…or doesn’t anyone know he trying that…INCLUDING EDUCATION…which Obama is trying to do.

On the morning of July 21st…I posted this on my Conservative Chat Board. Here is what happened with this whole thing.
Eric Holder dismissed the case against the New Black Panther Party. We are looking at video that CLEARLY shows voter intimidation…which, when last noted, WAS AGAINST THE LAW.
Bush’s attorney that was working at the Justice Department quits because of this incident and the fact that black on white crime would not be prosecuted. He testifies to this before Congress.
The NAACP comes out with a statement…in fact rails on the TPM about being “racist”
Breitbart receives a tape with Sherrod making statements (out of context). BTW…who stood to gain from sending this tape to Breitbart? Breitbart should have vetted the thing more carefully…however, he, like many other people are sick and tired of being called a racist…THAT INCLUDES ME. So, Breitbart puts it on the web.
Remember…this entire speech was taped by the NAACP…and they knew the ENTIRE CONTEXT.
The NAACP calls for her resignation. (Remember…they have the entire tape).
Shirley Sherrod is called three times to resign. She is told the WH wants her gone via Ms. Cook and that she would be on Glenn Beck that evening.
That evening…AFTER SHE IS FIRED…Fox airs the video on O’Reilly, Hannity and Greta. GLENN BECK DOES NOT AIR ANYTHING.
Next Night, Beck talks about taking things out of context AND WILL NOT AIR THE FILM.
Fox assumes that because the NAACP and the WH and Vilsack fired there is validity.
MIRACLOUSLY…THE ENTIRE CLIP APPEARS…FROM WHO…THE PEOPLE WHO HAD IT TO BEGIN WITH…THE NAACP.
Vilsack makes a public apology, offers Sherrod a job.
Sherrod makes her TV rounds…AND WHO DOES SHE BLAME…FOX NEWS.
Who piles onto Fox News…The Entire MSM.
NOW…I ASK YOU…WHO HAD THE ENTIRE TAPE FROM THE BEGINNING? WHO WANTS FOX OFF THE AIR? WHO WANTS TO MANAGE THE INTERNET AND TV…Why…it’s Obama’s Communication Czar.
Was Sherrod set up…probably..she was the shill. Who was the target? Fox News.
I listened to Sanchez on CNN…he does not want ideological TV. What does he call his network…FAIR AND BALANCED!

Posted by: Thomas | July 23, 2010, 2:12 pm 2:12 pm

Vilsack did fall on the sword…but why didn’t they call the NAACP who had the entire tape? Vilsack said it was a knee jerk reaction.
The NAACP called for her resignation BEFORE…Vilsack even came into the picture.
Why would they do that when they had the entire tape and knew that she was speaking to the audience about the “poor” NOT the “race”. This thing is so clear as a bell…it is amazing.

Obama ““I’ve told my team and I told my agencies that we have to make sure that we’re focusing on doing the right thing instead of what looks to be politically necessary at that very moment. We have to take our time and, and think these issues through,” Obama told Leamy.
First of all, Obama should have correctly stated that we have to focusing on doing the “left” thing…not the “right” thing.
Has this president told the truth about anything…YET!!! Stestak…you were given an Executive Order that Abortion would not be paid for in the healthcare bill…WRONG…It is. Where is YOUR outrage? What about the Congressman from SC who said “you lie” at his state of the union address. The Congressman was vilified…Obama..well…he lied.
How about the cost of healthcare? Was it under a trillion…NOPE…He lied.
Did Obama regulate everything that he could get his hands on…banks, cars, private business and kill the free market…YEP. How about his new financial reform bill. He and his tax cheat can put any business “out of business” if they “deem” it necessary.
What about no new taxes for the middle class. Lied again. Want to sell your house..3.8% tax between what it cost and what it sold for. What about “nationalizing” college education…the government and one small bank in South Dakota can finance college. Wonder if they are affiliated with Shore Bank. What about ignoring a Federal Judge’s order to lift the moratorium? How many people is he putting out of work. How much more do they have to suffer? How about our gas prices…going up? Yep. But…remember…he is for spreading the wealth. Look what he did to New Orleans. Oh…how about this…GM is building a plant in Brazil. Andy Stern…how you like those apples? When he bankrupts the country…no money to bail out pension plans…you’ve been “had” also.
So…who gets rich? Well, we have his carbon exchange board. That will make the NYSE look like a midget. Who funded it…Obama…through Shore Bank.
If he cared about the environment…like he says…we would all be walking and not eating beans…but no…you can “trade” your carbon footprint and keep on doing what you’re doing…as long as the carbon exchange board gets its cut.
He continues to usurp the Constitution that he swore to uphold. Oh…and for you progressives out there…who thought he would follow through with his promises…Gitmo is still open, the war in Iraq and Afghanistan are still raging and he is still wire tapping.
And as a final closing…let’s not forget he is getting ready for his 9th vacation and North Korea is threatening us. Oh well, maybe Hilliary can do the heavy lifting…you go enjoy the tar balls.

Looks like a setup in order to create a whole lot of chatter to me. I’d suspect the NAACP had the tape and came out with just the edited portion to invent a story, act shocked and then use it to cast blame. Gutter political tactics they have turned into an art form. – Recall the screams about Bush as a threat to privacy rights, illegal wire taping or Hitler morphed likeness? Notice the silence about the greatest loss of privacy in the last 18 months tucked into every behemoth bill passed on the premise for the common good? The master plan is 1000% more drastic threat to freedom and liberty than Bush could have ever gotten away with. Yeah, Obama has your back; with you tied to a whooping post for even thinking your private life and what you earn actually belongs to you. Posted by: enigmaforever | July 23, 2010, 3:41 pm 3:41 pm

Uh, no, it’s not because Obama is a (half) black man. It’s because he is totally unqualified to be POTUS. He has never run a business or held a real job. And we are finding out that he is totally clueless as well as not being very good at accepting any responsibility. Bush got hammered for his response to Katrina. But Obama has procrastinated for ages in his response. And he doesn’t see anything wrong with playing golf and taking vacation after vacation. But the media can’t bring themselves to hammer him on it. The public voted for someone with no record thinking he would bring hope and change. He’s bringing change, but I don’t think even the people that voted for him are going to be happy about it.

This is to Mark Jeffery Koch. I am a member of the Tea Party. I am hispanic and not a racist. That people like you keep playing the race card is shameful and the recourse of a desperate following. How much more damage to the economy (9.5% unemployment, bailouts of banks, spending on new beaurocracies on top of others that dont work for healthcare, etc) will it take for you all to stop with your bankrupt (pun)comeback:”if you dont agree with the president and his policies you are racist”? As Obama shames the likes of Democrat greats like Harry Truman (the buck stops here) you make excuses for his bizarre comments that throw his own people under the bus. Like the president, you are whistling by the graveyard of our economy. Like the president you also place blame for the continued failure of his economic policies elsewhere, policies that are giving us one of the worst economies in the history of the US (1.47 trillion and more on the way). Moreover Mark, take responsibility for voting in one of the worst presidents since Carter.

I’m sorry to say – Obama is incompetent to the point of embarrassment. Vilsak has more experience and is more qualified for the presidency than he is. Former Ag Sec Ed Schafer, Vilsak’s immediate predecessor and also a former governor (of ND) has said publicly that there is NO WAY Vilsak would have done this without the direction of the president – because SHE SERVED AT THE PLEASURE OF THE PRESIDENT.

I guess the lesson could never be “investigate allegations before running your mouth (like Obama with the Gates incident) or Vilsack (in this incident).
Hey Mark:
“The right wing in the Tea Party movement and the Republican Party will deny they are racists and that Obama’s race has anything to do with them working day and night to tear him down but like most of their agenda and their beliefs, it is one giant lie they will never publicly admit. ”
Hooey! What’s driving us crazy is what’s being done to America. You *like* what’s being done to America, so you don’t see how it could upset people.

According to Mark Jeffery Cox, the only reason the (presumably white) “right wing” opposes President Obama’s policies is because he is black. Leaving aside what a narrow-minded, prejudiced conclusion that is (I have come to expect nothing less from a liberal), it really is perfect. It allows the President and his sycophants to avoid debating the merits of any issue. Disagree with the Health Care plan? Racism. Don’t want higher taxes? Racism. Think there should have been a quicker response to the oil spill? Racism. Question our approach in Afghanistan? Racism. This is absolutely brilliant (for a five-year old). Let the truth be told.

Dear SailorDude,
The most obvious racism nowadays stems from the New Black Panther Party’s voter intimidation tactics along with “kill the cracker” mantras and the NAACP who were giggling and applauding Sherrod PRIOR to her disclosing her moment of redemption,
* Let’s not forget Obama knee jerk condemnation of a white cop in defense of Gates, another racist hiding behind a socialist veneer.
*DOJ’s initial refusal to investigate NBPP
* Jeremiah Wright’s infamous “sermons”
* the continued shakedown of businesses by the Reverends Al & Jesse who have made millions from extortion while the “community” the claim to champion is being devasted.
This angry white male, another racial slur from your enlightened side of the fence, has always supported Alan Keyes. Do you even know who he is? He happens to black and has run for the presidency as a Republican more than once. Your side called him an Uncle Tom. Your irritable mental gestures that mimic thought only illustrate that your untenable views cannot stand scrutiny and that you must resort to name calling of the lowest kind to claim any ground.
Your attempt to divide us racially, unlike the pledge made by Mr. Campaign Obama to unite us, demeans all Americans.
May God help you see the light.

How many Republicans do you believe live in Europe? They now think we are a joke because of YOUR vote. The murderous radical terrorist think we are weak because of YOUR vote. Interesting opinion, sailordude. One of the very few from the Left that I have read that wasn’t peppered with flowery language and denigrating insults. Still. I’m on the Right but I voted for Obama. Why? Lesser of two evils. I regret how naive I was at evaluating those two evils though. Regardless, you are making a serious mistake if you think the Right’s disagreement is race based. It isn’t and never has been. Let’s start with a complete lack of character, integrity, honesty, and add the refusal to uphold the Constitution for starters. Throw in some socialist policies and then arrogance and then you can throw in the refusal to accept any responsibility.

Every Bridge player knows the satisfaction when they negotiate a “finesse”. Whether by “Grand Design”, or an inadvertent lapse of due diligence, Breibart’s Sherrod incident FINESSED the smug eastern elitists establishment, the White House, the NAACP, the drive by media, talk shows, etc. Using the Hollywood maxim: “any publicity is good publicity”, Breibart has been exposed to thousands (if not tens of thousands. After apologizing to Mrs. Sherrod, I would be laughing all the way to the bank.

President Obama: “If there’s a lesson to be drawn from this episode, it’s that rather than us jumping to conclusions and pointing fingers at each other, we should all look inward and try to examine what’s in our own hearts and, as a consequence, I think we will continue to make progress,”
Yea ~ Right! Just like when he himself said that the police acted stupidly and then had to back pedal to the point of having a beer summit in the rose garden. Give me a break!
- and then -
the first “African American” president … Why does it always come down to race??? I understand history has been made here. I thought we were all Americans!
People seem to always want to keep that wedge diven there between blacks and whites, when it shouldn’t matter what color of skin a person has. Bottom line is there are people from both races, who want to work hard and make something of their lives and to make a difference in the lives of other pepole and then there are people who expect everything to be handed to them.
Actions matter to me, but peoples skin color does not make a bit of difference. There are some people who are more qualified for certain jobs than others, but their race does not mean they are more or less qualified.
I’m sick and tired of hearing “African American”, etc. and with all of the “racist” labels being hurled around, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s the people who make such accusations who the truely the “racists” among us.

Who to believe? “Throw it in the blender, mix it all up”……….SPIN! All the initial reports from the MSM pool at the Whitehouse said the resignation demand was done with the full knowledge of the President. Side note, this is the same media claiming that “jounolist” isn’t what it appeared to be. Now we see a very co-ordinated media blitz deflecting the story to blame, as usual the messenger.

Posted by: AZsmitty, Arizona | July 24, 2010, 9:38 am 9:38 am

Obama isn’t the right wing’s worst fears come true. He is not a “black man in the white house”…he is a “half white president who is also half-black”. The math is really easy. And he doesn’t descend from Afro-American culture. His father was purely of the Kenyan culture, not Afro-American. That is a huge difference when speaking strictly of culture and not of race.
Show support for this man!

Obama received 69.5Mil votes Obama received we can assume most were from non-African American races. But a full 32% were from African-American voters. Thats quite a block. Nothing racist in this, just an analysis.
To calculate the estimated # of black votes, we take the overall African-American population of 37.6Mil, assume only 60% are of voting age =
22.7Mil. Thus, a total pool of 22.7Mil African American voters, who we can assume 95% voted for Obama. Bottom Line: 22.5Mil African-American votes for Obama, or about 32.4%.
And, totalling 49.3Mil non-black votes for Obama. Of which 65% (the % non-hispanic whites in usa) were white-votes=32Mil votes, or 46% of the Obama popular vote. I submit this as the maximum possibility.
Considering African Americans overwhelmingly vote Democratic in every election, the results were laregly expected. And for next election. But the swing voting block is the white voting block.

Just like he jumped the gun and said the Cambridge police acted stupidly. He is 1/2 white and no one cares about his race. If Hillary was in there doing what this guy is doing to transform this country, everyone would be saying the same thing. What opened this up was the failure of the Attorney General to prosecute the Black Panthers and the lawsuit against AZ. When the Dems can’t debate or justify their actions they ALWAYS play the race card. The Americans aren’t buying it anymore. If you can become anything in this country including the POTUS drop the race excuse, not working.

Forget the wars, forget the economy, forget the oil spill. Obama could have done one great thing for this country by dealing with the race issue and bringing us together as one people. Instead he uses race to divide us for his own ideological purposes. That’s what community organizers do, they unite their faction against everyone else. We may as well have Jessie Jackson as president. What a shame.

This rushed judgment is as bad as the one that led to downfall of the samaritans that were trying to help poor people through the ACORN organization. The fake, lowlife, republican pimp and prostitute that secretly videotaped their conversations with ACORN better enjoy getting away with their felonious and doctored video recordings and the fraudulent claims they aired with the aid of the sick, perverted, fabrication of a tv station. Any racist demon can sit back, laugh, and enjoy the evil they do to seemingly get a win over the poor, humble, and down trodden. Better enjoy the sunshine today. There’ll come a time for every single one of them when God will turn up the heat to an unfathomable reality and they’ll spend an eternity dealing with it. God gets the final Victory whether you want to believe it or not. And no tv station, no tea party, and no perverted agenda is too big for God to overcome. Mr Koch, I read your comments in it’s entirety and am guessing you are a Democrat. I can truly see the point you are making but must respectfully disagree with a few of your comments. Health care, although a high ambition, would probably be more acceptable if the country were not in such a deep financial crisis. If it plan was such a great plan, why is congress opting out? Why is it not taking effect until 2014? It is true the Bush administration made lots of mistakes, but we must remember these are politicians, that’s what they do, always have. I do support what Mr. Obama is doing in Afghanistan, I just wish he would untie the military’s hands just a bit. The issues I have with the president are many, but they do not involve race, which you my be surprised to know, very few people I have spoken to feel the same way. I don’t feel because weed have ideological differences we must raise our voices and throw insults, there are a few of us left. I am a registered independent.

Nonsense! I heard Ms. Sherrod say that she was told by “Cheryl” in the White House to pull over and resign right then and there.
The real story is that the NAACP is rife with anti-white racist sentiment seeing their own reflections in their racist mirror and blaming white people for every imaginable wrong from the past and today.
The NAACP is an anachronism and continually plays the racism card for donations. No one with a brain is listening to these “clowns” anymore.

Did anyone else pick up on this? When it comes to racism, we should take our time and think things through. Where was this policy when he rushed the stimulus package, healthcare reform, and financial reform through congress against the will of the majority of Americans and sometimes without even being able to read the Bill before it was pushed through. Seems to me that “politically necessary” is what ever Obama decides it is!

I submit this question: What about when Obama (himself) came out on national television at a press conference and said “the Cambridge Police Dept. acted stupidly” when dealing with Professor Gates. That statement was made before Obama had all of the facts. Just another knee-jerk reaction from the President or his staff.
Hopefully, Obama won’t have his finger on the “button” next time he over reacts without having all of the facts.

And the hollowheaded race baiters who keep saying the reason so many people are now opposed to him is because of racism only enable his actions. Record unemployment. Record deficit spending. 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan. Now, look at the polls. Are you telling me that he is falling like a meteor in the polls because Obama is black? Nice try, but I think not. It is his policies and performance.

Obama is a HACK. The only reason there is even a modicum of support left is because the left would have to admit that they did ZERO research on this man before they voted for him. Anyone with access to the net could have easily assessed his voting record, who his “mentors” were, who he was associated with, ALL of it. The only thing they saw was his skin color. They totally disregarded his lack of training, his continued voluntary exposure to racist, his total disregard of fiscal responsibility, ad infinitum. His current dilemma is just another manifestation of his total lack of ability to govern. Too bad “we told you so” is not sufficiently bitter enough to convey the disgust I have, not for Obama (who is only performing exactly as it was obvious he was going to perform), but for the non-thinking imbeciles who voted for him.

Mr. Koch,
You should realize that you have failed to substantiate the very serious assertions you make in your comments. Unfortunately this is what the administration also does and expects the American people to buy it. The majority don’t, and this is why Obama’s rating are sinking so quickly. You seem to imply that his ratings are dropping because more and more Americans are discovering that he is black?
Why is it that only the liberals (like you) try to frame every dissent or challenge to the administration’s unsubstantiated assertions in terms of racism? Liberals are not wrong all of the time or on all of the issues, but every time they defend their position by claiming racism they lose by default. It is time to grow up and learn to stick to the issues.

Go figure!
But, in your mind, basically any opposition to a black Democratic president is racist, huh?
So why would we ever want to have a black president if we can’t criticize him?

Again I really dont care about Barry’s color or his citizenship or whatever…he is a socialist that wants to “fundamentally change America”. That means destroying it first…luckily most of Americans know that and have become more awake than ever before.
Are there racists in the tea party…yes. Does that make the whole organization racists…no. The media spreads this perception as Barry’s lap dog. Like the picture of the Sign at a Rally that was racists…they cut out the part about the Tea Party people asking him to leave.
Why no story on the “kill the white cracker” remarks of the Black Panther Member…Shabaze or whatever his name is…has the media covered that…no because they are Barry’s lap dogs.
We are getting ready to see such a change in power in direction that it will make Reagan seem like a bed wetting liberal. My grand kids will look at it as an Second American Revolution…

Odumbo is throwing Vilsak under the bus like he does to everyone else. I don’t think there are many who believe Vilsak acted on his own. In Mass. it was the police who acted stupidly. He said this before he had all the facts. I think this whole Sherrod thing was a set up. She gave the speech before the NAACP. They had the whole video. When the story 1st broke all they had to do to kill it was show the entire thing to the WH & the public and it would have gone away. Instead they and the WH jumped on the bandwagon. When the entire video mysteriously surfaced they screamed racism. BTW,if you watch the video closely she isn’t entirely innocent.

Mark Jeffery Koch: Odumbo has made this country a laughing stock. We are no longer looked up to but as weak. Your 1st paragraph sums things up nicely. Where was he born? Records are unavailable. As for our poor excuse for a 1st lady – she’s the one who said she was never proud of her country. He is a racist i.e., Black Panthers. When he wants distribution of wealth – that is socialism. He is a muslim. As for Rush etc. – Why are they so afraid of Beck, Hannity, Rush et al? Because they are telling America the truth and the WH is not happy about it. Otherwise why would the WH have acted so quickly re: Sherrod. You sound like you are a plant or living off the fat of the land and don’t want to spoil your freebies. You might need to go out and work come November

Posted by: meadowlands | July 26, 2010, 5:39 am 5:39 am

Mark Jeffery Koch ~ Your recent rant in support of President Obama is replete with so many misstatements, obfuscations and outright lies that it makes for difficult reading.
But let me address the most blatant of those – that of racism. You should be aware of the fact that a $100,000 reward was offered to anyone that could produce evidence that any member of the Congressional Black Caucus was called the so-called ‘N’ word or spat at – as was claimed by members of that caucus. That money is still unclaimed!
POTUS was not elected to office just because he received 99% of the black vote (12% of the voting public). He obviously also received a greater percentage of white votes (and others) that allowed him to win the election.
He did not get my vote, nor those of others such as Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck or Coulter because we did not see any reason to vote for an individual that had no qualifications, experience or knowledge by which to fulfill that office. It had nothing to do with color, he could be chartreuse for all I care, as long as he can do the job. I take no pleasure in the fact that I have been proven correct in withholding my vote from him – he has shown himself to be totally inept and the most unqualified president this country has ever had (including Jimmy Carter)!
The truly bad part of his presidency is that he doesn’t seem to learn from his mistakes one week to the next, and his continuous lies are almost uncountable.
Couple the above with his lavish life style, his total insensitivity to everything, his total disregard to promised transparency, his spouse’s disdain for American (did you know she has a personal staff of 32 people while other 1st ladies got by with 1-3?), etc. etc.
I could go on and on, but refuting your contentions is just too easy.
LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD!!
