After receiving his regular rounds of morning briefings, President Obama will meet today with President Leonel Fernandez of the Dominican Republic in the Oval Office.
"The United States enjoys a long and close relationship with the Dominican Republic and Dominicans have made important contributions to the United States and to the Americas," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said in advance of the meeting, "The President looks forward to discussing a wide range of bilateral and hemispheric issues with President Fernandez as part of his on-going engagement with leaders from throughout the Americas on the most important issues facing people throughout the region."
After their closed-door Oval Office meeting, the two leaders will take questions briefly from reporters.
