A Questionable Tweet from Alaska’s Joe Miller

ABC's Z. Byron Wolf reports: It has since been taken down, but a liberal blog has a screen grab of a ping that apparently came from Joe Miller’s twitter account comparing Lisa Murkowski to a prostitute. There are rumors that Murkowski is seriously considering an avenue to November that would place her on the ballot as the Libertarian candidate.  This seems like an ultimately unlikely scenario. Washington Republicans would likely abandon Murkowski. But it would add an excellent narrative arc to the race. You’d have  a libertarian leaning Republican in Miller running as a Republican. And a regular old Republican in Murkowski running as a Libertarian. Miller’s twitter account links to an article about the rumors when he draws a parallel between “selling out your party’s values and the oldest profession…”             Update: An apology tweet from Miller's account: "Please accept my apologies. Staffer trying to encourage Libertarians not to sell out. http://bit.ly/93kXBr #teaparty #tcot #alaska #ak"

Already Mr. Miller is not taking responsibility and blaming a staffer on his own ill advised tweet.
I would suggest that Mr. Miller shut his mouth until all the votes are counted and the recount, if necessary, is complete.
This game is far from over. Show some class Mr. Miller. Insulting women is not the way I would choose if I were in your position.

Isn’t it obvious that the entity being question in regard to selling out its values is (as one should easily infer from the word “party”) the Libertarian Party in Alaska, for even considering allowing Murkowski to run on its ballot line? The stories were out today that that might be her only hope to run as a third-party candidate, and that the appeal for the Libertarian Party is the cash that Murkowski might deliver to it. Sounds like prostitution to me for libertarians to sell their ballot line to someone who is distinctly not a libertarian in exchange for cash.
Is that really too hard to comprehend? Seriously?

Miller’s spokesperson DeSoto has explained that this “tweet” was NOT talking about Murkowski but was a staffer’s generalized comparison to the values of the Libertarian party being “sold out” if they accepted Lisa Murkowski as their newly minted Libertarian candidate for the general election. Of course, that explanation is not nearly as interesting and sensational as Murkowski’s outraged conclusion.
If Murkowski loses when the absentee ballots are tallies, the fact that she would fail to support the winning GOP candidate, and split the vote in November all because she doesn’t have the decency to just let it go is simply unconscionable for a public servant and she should be ASHAMED. The Libertarian party too should be ASHAMED if they consider dumping their existing candidate in order to take on Murkowski.

Not at all “questionable”! The tweet was, as others mention, comparing to the Libertarian Party “selling out” by running a mainstream Republican, imcumbent candidate (who, incidentally apparently lost out to a Republican who was more libertarian than her in the Republican primary). It was nothing about Murkowski’s gender, Murkowski’s ethics, etc? Who does the analysis at ABC? Amazing. Fail on any standard SAT, GRE, high school, or even elementary standardized testing reading comprehension exam…..

What a crock! The Repubs now very well Miller was refering to Murkowski and in typical fashion they try to turn everything around and “spin” it to their liking. Blaming a staffer …how low.
The Repubs are always talking about responsiblity, yet they are never responsible for anything and it is always someone else who is a fault.
