If people really think the oil is gone, they need to remember that people just found oil up in Alaska at the Valdez site. It wasn’t sitting on top of the ground but was there down in the sand. One just needs to think about salad dressing – the oil always sinks to the bottom. Just because you can’t see something doesn’t mean it is not there. But I know people believe what they want, and God knows BP and the gov’t want them to believe it’s gone, but it’s not.

CAROL; the valdez was heavy crude ,the gulf was light sweet crude. there is a difference.

It would be funny if it weren’t so serious – sand crabs are digging holes two inches deep and striking oil, and yet it has all been “disappeared”.

rick It kind of disolves and become part of the ocean after time , remember it was like a teaspoon of oil in small swimming pool.

carol,…how many times you been to valdez? ive been there countless times immeadiately after the spill and every year since. the place is fine just as the gulf will be. the mexican spill in 1973 or so was larger and no long lasting ill effects. the chicken littles can go home now. the sky isnt and never was falling.
