After receiving his regular rounds of morning briefings, President Obama will tour and speak at Gelberg Signs, a small business in Washington, DC this morning.
Mr. Obama will address both the July employment numbers released this morning, and the broader economic recovery.
Gelberg Signs, the White House says, is hiring new workers.
"Gelberg Signs is also expanding and making new investments in their equipment and technology thanks to two Small Business Administration loans," The White House adds.
The president will also meet with Secretary of State Clinton in the Oval Office behind closed doors.
In the afternoon the president will host a reception marking the Senate confirmation of Elena Kagan’s nomination to the Supreme Court in the East Room of the White House.
Yesterday the president said he was confident Kagan will make an "outstanding" justice.
