You really are a cutting-edge political scientist. Remember on the daythatthe stimulus was passed and you declared: “Obama owns the economy”
Pitiful , really…

Not really sure what your point was in your post “John Tully’ but I am pretty sick and tired of those who are misrepresenting what the stimulus and corresponding reforms (health and financial) will do to make our country mnore stable for the long run. Why don’t you people who are so prone to “criticize” the President instead excorciate the “party of NO and Obstruction” when they hamstring the legislation that would help create jobs and a better balanced playing field for the middle class? Why is it that the middle class and blue collar people always have a “penchant” for “voting against themselves”? You don’t think it has anything to do with “shallowness or lack of intelligence” …do you? Or is it because that their minds are just too bound by tradition and thinking in the past and not being able to recognize the future? Or is it because their minds are “coonstricted” by religious dogma so much that they only “headbob” to what their preachers say? I am curious, because right now I see the “right wing” trying to desperately lead us “back into the past”…where our nation definitely should not go.

cndfox—so anyone who disagrees with you is just not too bright ? Maybe we can see past the glow of obamas words and choose to live in the real world. Signature by signature he is hurting the WORKING man and you keep issuing him a free pass. Don’t worry tho.. November is coming but 2012 cant come fast enough !

one example—no new taxes on small business (healthscam aside) we now have to depreciate purchases over 5-7 years instead of writing it all off now. His words don’t match his actions.

That’s nothing but campaign rhetoric, and I found it offensive for him to do that, while purporting to be talking to the American people. The media should be charging the Dem party for campaign advertising, for that time slot.

Do you expect anything less from Obama or the Democrat Talking Head Georgie S.
they are nothing more than radical left wing extremist..
The radical left wing Racist and woman bashing extremist are in for a rude awaking in Nov as CBS reports the polls are showing WORSING data and now Gallup has the repubs up by 10 over the failing, left wing democrats and their “we could give a crap what you think” policies. A historic, unpresedented lead
OBAMA VS AMERICA

“sparko”…I cannot help it IF you do not “get” what I am saying. I just figure you are one of those who “are the main part” of the problem. It is not about “agreeing” with me at all. It is about your (and those that are like you) inability to look at issues in a ‘big picture way” without the shallowness of your “soundbite arguments and attitudes”. THAT is what I mean when I refer to an electorate that has gotten “dumbed down”. And unfortunatelty the “cynical right’s leaders” know how to take advantage of that. That is why the middle class and blue collar people have the “consistent tendency” to “vote against themselves”. They are just too blind to see WHO the GOP and conservatives truly represent (i.e. for your benefit: the “Very Rich”). NOT you or me.

CND Fox, you have my vote!!! Thank you for trying to explain reality to those who refuse to open their minds.

So which is it, George? Does Obama “own” this economy” like you claimed he did after the so called stimulus? Obama is at a turning point, alright: Independants like myself voted for him, but now we’re turning our backs on him in droves. I’m voting for Republicans this November.

Cindy Merrill…let me clarify what you said in your above post…”shallow independents who react emotionally to soundbites” are turning their backs on him. Not intelligent ones who really believe in progressive change.

If you posters are so smart why don’t you STOP trying to preach to the unconverted and give that “wisdom” to Obama… judging by his poll numbers, he seems to need it.
That is unless you are ALREADY working FOR him! Cough!

Posted by: CBA | September 1, 2010, 9:25 pm 9:25 pm

“CBA” …LOL…and what “polls” are you talking about? There are so many, especially right wing ones that pander to the “base”, how could you get anything “relevant” from them? Oh…I forgot CBA you people do not “deal” in “relevancy”…do you? The ones that are the most reliable and consistent show that even though he has been barraged by the rights constant lies, misinformation, misdirection red herring “issues” (you know the “mosque”) etc. his supporters of approximately 47% have stayed with him. And that is with all the “noise” that “Faux News” or Fox Noise” or whatever you want to call it…puts out.

Tax cuts are folly. We have too much debt, and cuts will solve nothing, nor will they create any jobs. Jobs will only be created by increasing taxes, on goods manufactured off shore, and imported into the country. That will force manufacturers, to either abandon the market (good riddance), or return to manufacturing in America, which is essential to our survival.
To say that winding down the war in Iraq, was necessary to paying attention to our economy, is an admission of ineptitude.
Good paying jobs, are gone, and will not return. Jobs for men, will continue to shrink, and the pay for those jobs that are left, will be minimal. High unemployment, will be the standard.
Social media have become the most intrusive thing into human privacy, in history. Even the media, has taken to only accepting feedback on Facebook, Twitter, and the like, rather than a simple text. That’s simply ridiculous. I refuse to do that.

cnd fox…you dont get it. obama pelosi and reid picked winners and losers with there stimulas while funding it with my taxes.thats wrong whether your progressive or not but your saul alinsky(sp?) mentor would say that the ends justify the means.if they would have given our money back the economy would be just fine.you probably believe we should control our birth rate as well, however that just leaves more room for illegal immigrants.

“catman”…oh, I get it. But I choose to look at the big picture” not a convoluted, constricted narrow one, filled with negativity, fear mongering and conspiracy theories that people like you constantly “harp” on all the time. Unlike you I understand how many people were uninsured (and how that number was constantly growing). Unlike you I understand how wide the “gap between rich and poor has grown”. And unlike you I understood how and why those things happened. Conservative GOP control who catered to only one element of society. The wealthy. And the author you quoted…I have never read him and never intend to. My ideas come from a belief in fairness for a balanced playing field and just plain old “common sense”. And most important of all …a sense of “humanity”.

cnd fox…stealing from peter to pay paul for his votes is wrong, unions, state and federal government has put us in the poor house. instead of sitting home for 99 weeks one should have to volunteer for government projects. teach a man to fish and he will never go hungry. my six kids and my employees know how to fish. give the money the people..let them decide how to spend it. in my town govt workers earn on average over 110,000 a year while the median income is less than 45000, we are broke and the unions wont give up one cent. those unions represent govt workers. at some point, and we are there, the have nots ( non union govt wotrkers)will rise up.surprisingly they are and as poor as they are identify more with conservatives then they do with liberals.cant wait to see nancy pelosi flying coach…hah

“catman” I want you to understand this…I am not being “derisive” or “condenscending”, but if you really want to “change” your plight you have to “follow the money trail” far beyond the unions, state and federal gov’t. Those are the “soundbite punching bags” of the very rich conservative oligarchy (and GOP) who control you and me. You unfortunately “fall” for it. I DON’T! Gotta go. Don’t want to miss the start of college football tonite.

“catman”…was in a hurry last night and did not get to comment on one thing you said in your last post. You said “…surprisingly they (the have nots) are as poor and (yet) they identify more with conservatives than they do with liberals”. Couple of things that are in there deserve comment. It is NOT surprising to me that they identify with conservatives at all. The conservatives long ago (couple of decades now) figured out how to “appeal to the poor through “values and religion”. Things that are “emotional” and have no solutions to. And due to the fact that many “poor” are not as “worldly or educated” they fall for the “demonization BS” that conservatives use against those that they call “liberal”. Many of us (so called liberals) are middle of the road moderates who simply believe in social justice and who see the world in a big picture way. AND UNTIL the “poor, have nots” figure that out (that conservatives are scamming them with lies, disinformation and non-relevant issues) they will continue to vote AGAINST THEMSELVES by voting for conservatives who are nothing more than “lap dogs” for the wealthy elite who have taken all their jobs overseas in the name of “their bottom line”. Right now after all Americans were through with what happened financially to us in “07-”09, it is hard for me to believe that people would go back and vote GOP this fall. I find it totally “pathetic” and “laughable”. That means simply they don’t “pay attention” to what really goes on and they are susceptible to the “lies and misinformation” of the “cynical right”.
