ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: President Obama will start his day today with his regular morning briefings in the Oval Office. Afterward the President and the Vice President will have lunch in the Private Dining Room, their weekly, private meeting.  In the afternoon, the President will award Chief Master Sergeant Richard L. Etchberger, U.S. Air Force, the Medal of Honor for conspicuous gallantry. "Chief Etchberger will receive the Medal of Honor posthumously for his heroic actions in combat on March 11, 1968, in the country of Laos.  He displayed immeasurable courage and uncommon valor — deliberately exposing himself to enemy fire in order to place his three surviving wounded comrades in the rescue slings permitting them to be airlifted to safety. As he was finally being rescued, he was fatally wounded by enemy ground fire," the White House describes in a statement announcing the honor. Chief Etchberger’s sons will join the President for the East Room ceremony today. In the late afternoon the president and vice president will have their weekly private meeting with Secretary of Defense Gates. -Sunlen Miller
