Obama, seems to think there are only a "handful of extremists" at the root of Islamic terrorism. He is pursuing this war not to win it, but to get Osama bin Laden, apparently thinking that will be the end of it. Nonsense. Killing or capturing bin Laden is not the end. There are millions of Islamic extremists determined to destroy western civilization, especially the US, and unless Obama puts his politics aside and shows the determination to win this war, the terrorists will prevail.

"So you agree with Petraeus that the war in unwinnable in any normal sense and will go on well into the next generation, and cost a least a trillion dollars over the next 6 years - and 40,000 troops should be sent regardless?" - Stan
What I am saying Stan, is that the war in Afghanistan is not winnable with the current commander-in-chief. As an intellectual, Obama should have realized that and declared defeat thus saving American Soldier's lives. Dragging the war on with no intent on winning it is unconscionable.

Tune in next year for Woodward's Sequel "Obama's Surrender" where NoBo declares defeat and starts the troop withdrawal 2 years too late.
You either fight with the intent of winning or you get out and cut your losses.

Maybe an intellectual mind is required to answer this question.

"Kaine: No slight in Feingold skipping Obama rally"
Apparently, Feingold had trouble finding a babysitter. No offense to Obama, though. These things happen.

A couple of points about Obama's War, Vietnamistan the Sequel.
1 - Bob Woodward wrote his book as part of his agenda to get Obama to get out of Afghanistan.
2 - As I have said, Obama doesn't have the hutzpah to prosecute the war and these Woodward interviews confirm that.
3 - Obama, "the intellectual" didn't like what he was hearing and kept asking for options that didn't exist. He then got "pi$$ed" about it. Some intellect.
4 - So he decides to go half hearted and slowly gives the military less than what they wanted insuring more dead American Soldiers.
5 - Tune in next year for Woodward's Sequel "Obama's Surrender" where NoBo declares defeat and starts the troop withdrawal 2 years too late.
Mr. Intellectual President, here's the lesson, something millions of us know and that you should have known when you took the oath of office.
You either fight with the intent of winning or you get out and cut your losses.
There's more than a thousand needless deaths on your head.
Sleep well.
