ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: President Obama will start his day today with his regular rounds of morning briefings in the Oval Office. In the late morning Mr. Obama, Vice President Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will meet together in the Oval Office, privately.
Following their meeting the president will meet with Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen in the Oval Office.
“As part of the President’s ongoing consultations with allies about our global agenda, the two leaders will discuss NATO’s role in advancing our shared interests in Europe and beyond, including through the International Security Assistance Force mission in Afghanistan,” the White House said in a statement in advance of the meeting, “They will discuss preparations for the November 19-20, 2010 NATO Summit in Lisbon, Portugal, which will include a focus on NATO’s development of new capabilities that ensure it is able to respond effectively to 21st century challenges.”
The president’s afternoon will be filled with additional closed-door meetings, including a lunch in the Private Dining Room with Vice President Biden, a meeting with senior advisors, and a meeting with Secretary of Defense Gates in the Oval Office.
